Hi there. Very helpful video. I will soon be taking the ITLS test again (every 4 years), so it was good to brush up on, the way they ask questions in the test. Thank you 😊👍Pretest is always a good way to refresh.
Just a two corrections - You don’t want a tourniquet on a joint you need to compress soft tissue to occlude the blood vessels. Anywhere a few centimeters above the bleeding is fine so long as it doesn’t restrict your access and your peripheral pulses are limited. - myocardial contusions can cause arrest it’s called commotio cordis I see you already got corrections on the posturing and the quick word slip with the NPA. Great video otherwise! Very well explained and succinct.
33min51sec - you do not apply a tourniquet in a joint ( the bone will prevent circumferential compression... you want the adipose and muscle tissue to be compressing the artery.
I have concerns with Q49. 34 y/o Male s/p MVA with ABD Tenderness, B/P is not to bad, but the HR is up, and the respiratory rate is elevated and SHALLOW. I would think C would be a better option. Never-mind, now I see why we would go to the answer being A because perfusion pressure is only 40 with a elevated HR which would lead one believe there’s a abdominal bleed, and the increase in RR is because the patients oxygen carrying capacity is leaving the vascular system. So yes maintaining peripheral pulses is important.
Hello. New subscriber here. Doing my ITLS in April. Wanted to browse thru questions first to get a feel of the course. On qsn 20, interruption of ITLS pry survey, wanted clarity on “gasping respirations”…from my understanding gasping is not normal and is actually a sign of cardiac arrest?
Im not sure if all bvms pop-up valves are set at the same pressure. But that's a good point. I believe I was saying that at 60, the bvm valve will pop. Not necessarily that the valve is set to 60.
Yeesh, give the guy a break. I think we all understood what he was discussing/ intending. I cannot speak for more than 5 minutes without tripping over myself.
Great explanations. Would love more test questions answered like this with simple explanations of the multi choice possibilities and outcomes.
Great suggestion!

I am glad, hope it was helpful.
Thank you for helping me learn how to think thru the questions. You are a great teacher.
You are so welcome!

Thanks for explaining the answers. It really helps.

Awesome! Hope you do ACLS next 👌
Thanks for the comment. Probably will, just need to check what's possible and what's not.
thanks found it very useful, currently in paramedic school and this helped alot
Great video and explanations … very beneficial thank you
Thank you very much. This is really helpful.

Great video, quick question. Do you not use Decanto suction cathetars? Yaunkers were made for dentisits, and that's about it!
Unfortunately not, they would be idea. Would be interesting to see why we don't.

Correct
Q6- arms and legs extended is Decerebrate posturing… not decorticate…
Awesome. Thank you very much.
That was really helpful
Thank you
Please explain q28 and why not the other possibilities?

Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
Hope it was helpful

I have ITLS course on 19/01
@@allthingsparamedic
Definitely
Good luck!
Thank you
6min3sec is incorrect... you said if the arms are extended then it is decorticate... if they are extended, it is decerebrate.
Got them confused, thanks for points that out.
I was thinking the same thing, glad it got cleared up
18min57 sec is incorrect... the pop-off valve is set to be triggered open at 40 cm H2O

Thank you. I will be attempting the ITLS next month. Where can I find more questions and answers to prepare
Should be some online and in your text book
Very useful
Glad to hear that
Nice 👍
22min17... EtCO2 of 30 is not normal... 35-45 mm Hg is normal
You are right, but I did add a correct to the video.
Can I have this edition in french ?please...
Might be difficult to do. Any suggestions?
Do you have the pretest 8th edition.?
It's online, available and free
at 9min24 you mention nasogastric... an NPA is not nasogastric, it is nasopharyngeal... it never gets close to the stomach
You're right, I said the wrong thing, but I was refering to a npa. I appreciate your attention to detail.
