Yeah it's not as bad as the ps4 or ps4 pro, I remember making videos a few years back and the microphone could pickup the Ps4's fans going crazy. Thanks for watching.
I will give you two perspectives. When close up let's say it's a 4/10. When it's enclosed in a TV cabinet and you are sitting on your couch/sofa then you can barely hear it. I would say 1/10. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Good for you ps5 slim is not loud, i'm having problems with high pitch fan noise and it's 1 month old, i had ps4 slim for 7 years and never was bothered by the fan.
Hey just saw this and wanted to add a little twist, so like u my PS5 Slim was noticeably louder than the OG, not “loud” but this very annoying high “Hz” sound that bugged the crap out of me, did some digging and saw that people where saying it was because of the Nidec fan, i went online picked up a Foxconn variant and now it’s dead silent, like can’t hear it unless i’m all the way against the console shell.
I was supposed to get a series X then I decided I wanted a ps5 because of the duelsense then I hear about this so I'm going to get a Xbox Series X again 😅
@@Radiation_76 dualsense is overrated. Feels a bit cheap palstic to be honest. I have a ps5 too. If you like japanese games go for the ps5. Otherwise the xbox is a better option. Oh and it is dead silent. Ps5 is ...not so quiet😃
@@Radiation_76id say get a ps5 or a pc. xbox just doesnt really have anything going for it besides it being quiet, i dont even know people who have one
My os5 slim is noticeably louder than my ex og ps5 . But fan fact , if you squire the upper plates it salients the humming is you said , don’t know if the plates have issues with air travel making noise .
I was wondering when you play intensive games is it even louder? I remember on the ps4 it wasn't too loud for me, but when you played certain games it sounded like a jet engine. Is it the same for the ps5 original or slim? BTW have a Series X now and thinking of selling it to get a ps5. Also, is it worth buying the ps5 slim over the original? I want the disc version as well.
Thanks for the update video! From other videos it sounded like the slim had a more high pitch sound, but your graph actually showed lower high frequencies, but louder in the 600hz range. Interesting! The OG has a flatter EQ curve, which does correspond to the flatter sound of the OG fan noise. I guess it comes down to which frequency people find more annoying, based on their individual hearing sensitivities
I have the same problem with my new PS5 Slim. The first day I bought it I played Resident Evil 3 and the fan was very loud. Other games like LEGO STAR WARS didn't demand as much from the console and you couldn't hear the fan at all. Has anyone had a very loud fan since the first day they bought the PS5 Slim?
I understand - I did this in my previous video th-cam.com/video/QHLYDXOsDTI/w-d-xo.html however you couldn't hear the fans when I put the microphone near them (on mobile, it seems TV audio works better), hence I used the DB app (sound measuring app) to show which PS5 was louder.
I would still say the new PS5 slim digital is louder, but I've put it in the TV cabinet, with an opening so I can't hear it as much. The Sonos 7.1 Surround nullifies the noise. PS5 Pro comes out later in the year, I recommend saving you money for that.
@@PuzPlays Yea i changed my mine and gonna get the X series on sale in the holiday szn, they had the digital slim for $399 msrp but idk if we ever gonna get that deal again.
It doesn’t ruin the experience. You won’t be able to hear the noise when you have your headphones on. That’s what I typically do when I am in the outhouse gaming. Hope this helps. Will catch you in the next video.
@@user-f1ff23 Thanks for your comment. The speakers should work just fine. To give you a real life example, I switched my Ps5 Slim to the living room and I have a LG TV connected to a Sonos soundbar and I can't hear the slim. From a distance perspective, my PS5 slim to my sofa is about 3-3.5m and I can't hear the noise. I think you will honestly be fine. I hope this helps with the purchase. If you have any additional questions please let me know will help you answer them.
Hi Guys, this video provides definitive answer on which PS5/PS5 Slim is the loudest. Thanks for watching.
If it’s not as loud as the ps4 I’m happy. That shit sounded like a nuke

If you have cleaned it it would’ve been quiet like the first day
@@PuzPlays thx
Good test. While the PS5 Slim is louder than the fat PS5, both are much quieter than the PS4, which sounded like a jet engine.
Thank you. 🙏
It got to the point of only using the ps4 during winter to avoid the fan going into full rpm jet mode
Ikr, at least it doesn't get as loud as the Ps4 lol

That's a really good shout. Can you help share the link the fan and the cost of it? May try one here and see if it works in the UK? Thank you.
The series x is dead silent. This is unnacceptable

Thanks for your comment. Im hoping the darkplates fix this. Lets see.
The plates add to the noise, but not remove it completely when you take them off. I tested it myself a few months ago.
