How do I get mortar off a wall? Someone rebuilt an adjoining wall between my house and next door. It's rock solid and looks bloody awful. They didn't attempt to finish my side off at all.
This does work ! I didn't have a scraper handy but I still got it pretty clean. I used 'PB Blaster' which is what auto mechanics use to loosen tight screws , instead of WD40 , thanks !

It's the same with cement mixers. Just cos it's a messy job doesn't mean it has to get all clogged up. Just spray the rim and blades after every mix. Use the small amount of water in the mixer for the next mix After the job, don't be lazy, get in there with a hand brush and clean all around the hard to reach parts of the blade with water. It's just getting the methodology right, it doesn't take a long time and mixes mix better with clean blades.
Yeah Danny boy firsly my trowls I use for points and filling in flue voids are mucky as hell. But when I do get around to cleaning them. I use my Bosch orbital sander. They come out really well. Within a couple of minutes. No wd40 or anything like that. Sometimes you can get away rubbing your trowl against a slab or brick. Does the job right😜

Hi mate 😀 I saw you have an all steel hammer. Now it is about x 4 more expensive than the fiberglass handle with steel head I currently have. But I have a question. Im a little concerned that since there is a joint inside the head... That it might come apart. Is it true? Or it shouldn't happen. Because in steel hammers you also have a handle which is a second part. So it might come out as well right? What is your opinion
Hi, I have an array of hammers in my collection from steel, fibreglass, hickory and specials. Ive never experienced any issues with my steel or fibreglass hammers, I have however with hickory but relatively easy to repair either by adding a glued wedge or replacing the handle. I personally prefer hickory, but steel is the way to go for performance. Hope this helps

Exactly, people do not seem to take care of them nowadays. I see it all the time, trowels caked in cement drives me mad. Luckily these were a bargain at 10p each from the bootsale
