It's weird to think that Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Reggie White, Deion Sanders, Ronnie Lott, all never won an MVP because of their position, but Mark Moseley won an MVP at kicker.

RIGHT!!!!! Moseley was certainly MVP of the team, but MVP of the league is a stretch.

@@nicholasadams2374 The MVP wasn’t deserved or anything.

In my opinion, it should be impossible for the offensive player of the year to also be MVP, or a quarterback, so that way we could have a way to give an individual accolade for non quarterbacks in modern times.

@Fries I don't always agree with you, but damn, that would have been the best team ever. Including everybody.
I was a kid in Atlanta in 1977. The defense was just ungodly. Part of it resulted from the rules at the time - LA and Washington both also had outstanding scoring defenses - but Glanville figured out that you could short-circuit the passing game by ensuring the passer couldn't throw. It was effective, and fun as hell to watch once we got used to it. Atlanta beat the Rams 16-7 on Opening Day in the quietest stadium you ever saw - because the Atlanta fans were stunned into silence by what they were seeing: the Rams were being absolutely manhandled.

Just become a politician..that apparently exempts you from your own rules..no matter how draconian. Mostly Democrats, but not exclusively. Just ask that small d#%k, wannabe dictator-Cuomo in NYC. 2nd highest death rate of anywhere on earth,& caught violating his own rules..yet celebrated by media sycophants, including his own brother. All us regular rubes, have to live by their rules-some reasonable, but many ridiculous, but the elites get different rules. Just like Santa Clara county where the 49ers,& Stanford-have to move out of the state. Despite the NFL's top doctor saying there hasn't been 1 case on earth, of someone contracting COVID, on the athletic field-indoor, or outdoor. And of all these athletes whove tested positive, has 1 of them been hospitalized..let alone died? Not that I know of.The rest of us have to stay home (understandable to a point),& watch top 10 lists, but the politicians get to do whatever the f#&k they want, flagrantly violate their own dictates,& increase their power/feed their ego..using COVID as an excuse. And Im not a COVID denier..it is real. I support wearing masks, social distancing, ect. I have 2 elderly uncles, who died from COVID. (1directly, 1 indirect) But no doubt, some of these scumbag, wannabe dictator politicians are using this shit as an excuse to increase their power, take our rights,& punish their critics.

Edit: I think we add Cooper Kupp's 2022 season if for nothing else than he had 1900 yards on SEVENTY-FIVE% catch percentage. You could also add 2021 Aaron Rodgers with 48 TD's with only 5 INT's which is super impressive.

@@fortynights1513 Didn't know that about Howton actually! Yeah the general public doesn't understand how absurdly far beyond Hutson was to everyone in the league in that point. The Packers didn't want to pay him and granted he was getting later in his career but you could feel the shift the second that decision was made. Few decisions in history can be immediately linked to a franchises decline like that one was.

@@Gungho73 Billy Howton on a side note, in spite of retiring with the most receptions and receiving yards in 1963 (though both were quickly passed by Raymond Berry) is not in Canton.
Howton played with Babe Parilli who had a good career, and a rookie Bart Starr as his best quarterbacks.
It seems counterintuitive now, but given that many schemes were smashmouth based through the 1980’s, quarterbacks who threw a lot of passes and for a lot of yards, and receivers who caught a lot of yardage worth of passes were called unimpactful if they got those numbers and their teams didn’t perform, because voters argued that they only had the numbers they did because the game wasn’t well managed and their teams were losing.
Given that we call quarterbacks game managers, it may hold some water in their analysis, but it doesn’t mean the receivers weren’t doing their jobs well, even if in losing efforts.
Howton and the 70’s Ram receiver Harold Jackson (who similarly retired second all time in receiving yards in 1983) both ultimately have the most receiving yards in their respective decades, and neither made the all decade team of the 50’s or 70’s, or Canton because of this perception by voters at the time. Ultimately those are the only two receivers in the top 15 of career receiving yards through 1985 that aren't in Canton, and in my opinion both have been overlooked and snubbed.

Td and cj2k both got over 2 grand. AD (adrian Peterson) was 9 yards short but its 2020 and still stands. Marino in 84 it stands for 20 years. Then Manning. It stands for 3 years. Brady in 07. Then in 13 manning shatters it. In 2011 there were 5 or 6 QBs who got past some of the Marino numbers. Marcus Allen led the League with 1759...but all purpose yards you say! Marcus Allen had an addition 67 receptions for 555 yards giving him more all purpose yards. Roger Craig played played during an Era with people like Walter Payton, Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett. He was good at everything but great at nothing. Very useful for the team he played on.

There's no way Brady's season was better than Marino's. Marino broke the record by 12 touchdowns, he got the second most with 44 in 1986, and it wasn't until 1995 that another player threw more than the old record of 36. Putting Brady above Marino in 1984 is ridiculous.

I feel they should have acknowledged Chuck Foreman in there. In 1973, he caught over 70 passes had just under 700 yards while rushing for over 1000 yards, and 22 total touchdowns. Heading into the final game he was leading the league in receptions, rushing yards and touchdowns. He may not have been the duel threats that Clark and Faulk were but he deserves to be in the conversation.

"If they extend the season from 16 games to 18 games. That is the only way it can be broken" -reference to Brady's 50 touchdown passes
-few years and surgery/team change later
    Manning- "Hold my 55 touchdowns"
But being serious the performances are iconic (and I know this was filmed before Manning's 55)but besides beating Brady's by 5 Manning did that at the end of his career not during his prime with arguably a less talented team around him (no Marvin Harrison or James at RB/not saying the cast he had was bad though). Add that a couple years before that having surgery and missing a season with reports of his arm being "a noodle" than throwing 5 MORE than the record is amazing. The crazy thing is I don't think that record is safe cause Mahomes tied Brady in his 1st starting season.

I’d also throw in Walter Payton in 1977 who led the league in rushing yards, yards per carry, yards from scrimmage, and rushing touchdowns, and won an MVP.
For as mid as Barry Sander’s offensive lines were, in 1997 he had a pro bowl center at least, and his team’s top receiver was also an all pro unlike Payton’s.
Payton in 1977 had no player on his offense other than himself get any individual recognition that year, and in fact none of his teammates would ever win an individual accolade in their career.

@Harry Engel IDK how Reggie and Walter aren't on here already bro, it's crazy LOL but I think Mahomes will be on herd for a couple of reasons, even though it isn't the record breaker:
      1. He's the only other player to have that season besides Manning in 2013 - 50+ TDs and 5k+ yards
      2. He DOES have the record currently for most TDs at this point in their careers, beating even Marino. That's amazing
      3. It was his FIRST starting season! LOL it's ridiculous that he was THAT good THAT early. It took Manning 15 years of playing to get that season. Mahomes did it his first time out 🤷🏾‍♂️ that's unfathomable

Can someone explain to me why Roger Craig doesn’t have a gold jacket?

      He's not a QB.
If you are an above average but not necessarily elite QB like Eli Manning or Ben Roethlisberger it is a given that you should go in. Craig one of the best duel threat running backs of all time, no.

AP's 2012 performance should be on this list above any RB's. 2011 devastating knee injury, 2012 2097 yards rushing and league MVP.
