Colin is very smart to bring Rachel on as often as NBA basketball is being played. She has been at this so long that she knows everyone in the game from the top to the bottom. When she talks it is worth paying attention. I'm not certain I would follow her if she had her own show simply because there are other analysts capable of diving into the nuances of the game who I follow. Of course, if JJ is selected to coach the Lakers I'd be losing my primary NBA analyst. He has really elevated the conversation over the last few years. If he's gone I'd likely turn to Tim Legler and Ryen Russo. Love the NBA. I've been spoiled the last decade as a Warriors fan, though the last few years have been challenging. Steph won't play forever... which is a pity.

@@The_Real_Kal-ElThose guys are actually playing defense. They will be fine guarding White and Holliday. If Boston just runs their offense through them to try and exploit those matchups they would be playing right into Dallas hand. Celtics better shoot a high percent form three because they are going to need those three's.

@The_Real_Kal-El They don't have the size to guard Luka, AND the Mavs are by far the best close out defense that Boston has played in these playoffs. The Celtics are the seventh team in NBA history to go through the playoffs and make the Finals WITHOUT playing a 50 win team. They're about to have a rude awakening. Hope they don't choke.

Dallas is not the same team before the trade deadline and after the trade deadline.
So looking at the Regular Season between Dallas and Celtics doesn't tell you anything.
But the Celtics is the same team before and after (you could even argue the Celtics were stronger in the Regular Season because of a fit Porzingis).
So let's look at the matchups during the regular season between the Celtics and the teams Dallas just faced in the Playoffs.
Celtics vs LA Clippers 1-1 // Celtics vs OKC Thunder 1-1 // Celtics vs Minnesota 1-1
So the Celtics are 0.500 against 3 of the top 4 teams in the West.
(Celtics vs Denver 0-2, so 0.375 agains the top 4 teams in the West).
Now if you do look at Dallas during the Regular Season against these same teams.
Dallas vs LA Clippers 1-3 // Dallas vs OKC Thunder 1-3 // Dallas vs Minnesota 1-3
So Dallas is 0.250 against 3 of the top 4 teams in the West.
(Dallas vs Denver 1-2, so 0.285 against the top 4 teams in the West)
You can clearly see that the Celtics #1 seed is inflated because of playing in the East.
And their record is not great against the top teams in the West.
Dallas in the Playoffs against these teams 12-5, so 0.706.
Dallas is another animal since the trade.

@LowBrowProgramming The Mavericks actually have the number one defense since the trade deadline and will be by far the best close out defense that they faced in the playoffs. The Mavs have a deeper bench, athletic defenders that can challenge the celtics three balls, and the best player in the series. Not to mention that the celtics don't have a defender with the size to truly challenge Luka.

No one is going to say Wolves need Frank Vogel? He knew how to use the Double Bigs against Jocik, but he didn't keep them in against other teams. Vogel made decisions based on lineups, such as starting Caruso and sitting Howard for long stretches. The Wolves copied Vogel's game plan, but didn;t understand it.
