People have a hard time accepting that to curb inflation, the supply of money circulating the economy must decrease and that inevitably means a lot less spending and a slow down in the economy. It hurts but it must be done.

She fails to realize that they SHOULD only buy the basics, and not overspend on garbage you don't need which leads to massive debt.

Isn't milei supposed to be making people less impoverished? Pointing out that people are worse off after abruptly slashing government programs is a completely legitimate critique.

@@youtubecruiser6819 Argentina suffers from impoverished conditions because its inflation was wildly out of control and inflation is the most pervasive tax on lower incomes brackets you can have, as evidence by how hard it's been on our own low income bracket even at far milder numbers. You have to clean away rotting flesh to promote healing, and that's essentially what Milei is doing. He's cutting away socialized industries that are protected and propped up not by their own viability, but by government protections... which require printing money constantly to maintain them because they are not self sustaining... thus causing runaway inflation and impoverished conditions.
Once inflation is under control and basic supply and demand capitalism replaces socialized systems, it's going to spur massive investment and you're going to see an explosion in quality of living, particularly for the "impoverished". That's been the story of capitalism for the last century.
That's why Milei is courting the US and UN. He is clearing away the state protected refuse to make room for foreign investment from international businesses. And what happens when you get international businesses investing in your country? Your quality of life explodes for the middle and lower class.... see China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, etc
The reason I pointed out the teacher is because it was her parties policies that created wildly escalating inflation in the first place. And like most "leftists", even when presented with irrefutable evidence that her policies are the cause of her own malady(inflation), she has to rationalize that she's not at fault.

@@youtubecruiser6819 No, he said it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
For one, the enormous debt takes time to impact the economy. It still lingers for about a year or more.
Second, he is stopping the debt cycle. Meaning money will feel tight for a while.
Imagine someone who is in debt that keeps putting that debt on credit cards making the problem worse. Milei is basically stopping the debt cycle. So in the example it means this person won't be able to spend the debt, but it also means the problem of exponential debt goes away. Short term pain, long term gain.
They have 70+ years of insane interest.
The US will have the same problem soon, our debt interest (money thrown away) is now higher than our military budget and social expenditures.

@@brandoncomer6492 capitalism has had a lot of state involvement in its history and when austerity was introduced and regulations laxed, things got worse. The US is a great example. That's not a testament to the power of libertarian free markets. Let's see how things turn out in the next few months

Realistically people will start feeling the incredible progress only after 3-5yrs in
1-2yrs that is still re-calibration stage for Argentina and it's far from equitable/fair distribution (not the goal anyways)
Proud of you Argentina, trust the process. It won't even take long to see the progress
