  • Argentina President Javier Milei has pledged a "significant" tax reduction if Congress approves a bill to reduce state intervention in the economy.
    President Milei is seeking congressional approval for economic reforms to boost investments amid high inflation and a prolonged economic crisis.
    "The national government will advance a significant reduction in taxes," Milei said during an event in Cordoba province.
    "We know that this decision will be difficult for the national coffers, but we have made a commitment to the Argentine people and will start returning their taxes."
    The reform bill, including plans to privatise state entities and provide more business incentives, passed the lower house on its second proposal.
    It now requires Senate approval and is expected to undergo further revisions before a final vote.
    The "Bases" bill, as Milei termed it faces challenges in the Senate, which may approve it with modifications in the coming weeks.

    4:00 No, no, this is misinformation. Before Milei the meat was impossible to buy, you can see the viral video of an old man who could only afford 200 gr. Of meat for the week. Now, the prices of everything are lowering, the rice, the meat, the oil, and other products. You can see owners reducing prices and normal people opinions on TH-cam. You need to know that before the state locked the prices, leading to shortage on those products, you would never see those "products"(now there are investigations if those products existed). Milei opened the importations, which was monopolized by the government friends, normal citizens could only import 8 products.

    • @rngd0875
      @rngd0875 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Exactly, they mis-framed what is happening. When exports cost more to other countries, it is because the Argentine peso is increasing in value. The other countries are complaining because it is not dirt cheap for them with their money being worth more before.
      Before the A. peso was worthless and it took more pesos to buy goods. As it trends up in value, Argentina will be able to buy more goods and import cheaper valued goods from other countries. The border towns will reverse and you will see Argentinian stores on the border flooded with people buying cheaper goods from the other countries.

    • @JohnHoulgate
      @JohnHoulgate 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      That's how I'm seeing it. The border towns in Paraguay and Uruguay benefitted from Argentina's inflated prices because they were driving Argentines to those towns where they could buy those products cheaper. Now that things are shifting. Argentines can find more affordable prices in their own country. Before you know it, Paraguayans and Uruguayans will cross the border into Argentina to buy the same goods.

      Things like inflation and sales taxes delude people into thinking that the prices they're paying for everything are fair, though actually these are (depending on the region) at least some 10-30% higher than they would naturally be, assuming neither inflation nor sales taxes exists since the person's last paycheck.

      @@angeurbain6129 Texas's only issue right now is mass illegal immigration. Something forced on them by *socialist* democrats like AOC. If socialists weren't in charge Texas would have nearly zero problems. Like always socialist cause a problem then blame the capitalists and pretend to be a solution. Then when their solution doesn't work they arrest the capitalist, then when that doesn't work they *liquidate* the capitalist. Then when all the capitalist are gone and things are still getting worst and worst they blame the capitalists countries that are on the other side of the planet.
      Do you not see it?
      This is just a blame game for power.
      Also I agree we should cut the military in haft. It's bloated and wasteful. Plus it's corrupt as all hell. But only if you agree to cut the intelligence agencies as well.

    It took hard decisions and against the Unions jobs was lost but there was no alternative if you wanted to fix the country. Because if not you have seen in the past where they continued on to be a basket case. And any blame is on the past Government who caused this but in the long run Argentina will be a better country from his reforms the quicker he fixes the financial the faster the recovery.
