Wow! thank you! I was looking for some sort of macrame for my 4 yrs old classroom to do for Mother's Day. I have some small glass containers I've been saving for planting herbs. All the macrame videos I've watched were too complicated for them to do. But now I finally found just what I needed! Thank you again for sharing this simple, yet useful DIY plant hanger.

I just followed along and made a sling for my plant pot (after following your fisherman's knot video to tie together the ends of the string). Thank you! Time to make more. I want to hang my houseplants outside for the summer. Cheers!
Thank you very much sir! It's very well explained. So glad I found someone who really takes the time to explain by little steps on how to do it. ❤🙏Blessings from San Diego, California 🌴
Watched heaps of barrel sling videos but none as detailed descripted explanation as yours. Thank you so much. I understand yours much better than the others.
That is the whole idea, I was sick of seeing low quality videos, where a lot of the time you are left guessing, or it is too fast. I do get some stick for being a bit over descriptive, but there again some people are new to knotting. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated. Are you more of a practical or decorative knotter?
Neither, just happened to stumble across barrel sling videos and curiously wanted to work out the basic concept on how a piece of string can be knotted in a certain way that turns out a barrel sling. Your video was the only one that explained all that and easy for me to conceptualise, that's all.
That's exactly what I am looking for. I will be using this twice on two 5 litre containers. As an add-on where the ropes crosse-over I will use a small cable tie to keep them in place
I’ve been watching many knot tying videos recently and stumbled on your channel. Very glad I did. I enjoy the speed at which you form the knots and the vocal step by step. Too many videos that are “tutorials” are simply some guy showing off how fast he can tie the knot and not very helpful to someone trying to learn. Cheers from Maryland, US.
Thank you so very much for you kind words. It sort of came about a while ago when I was contacted by a blind person, who liked the pace of my videos. He would watch them with his granddaughter and she would assist him when he went wrong. So that is really why I try to go slowly and give fuller explanations of what the knot is doing. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, much appreciated.
This video was very helpful to me. As others have said, the pace was slow enough that I could actually keep up with it. I had to tape the bottom of mine to keep it from sliding, but I used it for a very slippery ceramic planter.
I think the trick is, ensuring that the surface is not too slippery. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated. Are you more of a practical or decorative knotter?
What a fun and useful knot! Yes it was a bit of a bear to stop those ones sliding off, but tape did the job. I think on something rough like, oh I don't know, a barrel perhaps, it would be easier. :-D
Yes, slippery surface are a bit of an issue, some slippery ropes can also be an issue. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.

@@KnottingKnots my goal isn't something permanent. I'm looking for a way when I'm traveling, to make a little more space in my purse by hanging my water bottle from the outside. Good video. I've been using your sling to hold my exploding targets. Tannerite comes in little 1/2lb & 1lb plastic jars and using this sling and acouple rubber bands & paracord makes really nice hanging targets. Thanks
Perfect for what I needed, excellent tutorial, I did add an extra twist at start for a little added security as the small green bottles are a bit slippery. Cheers

Try again.....there are lots of videos for it. I’ve had mine hanging like this for years. U need to cross the rips below the pot and be sure to use a pot that had a lip for this to catch under. The video I used was like 45 seconds long and showed how to be sure the bottom has an X as well as the tension around the lip of the pot
Thanks from Saskatchewan, Canada! Very well explained and just the knot I wanted. A simple style but still looks good. My first trys were with old slippery twisted rope and a very slippery pot, not a good combination to say the least. I found some decent rope and now I have successfully tied 3 pots, they aren't real pretty but they work and getting better every try!! One thing, I find it hard to tell the length of rope I need for different sizes of pots.
