Excellent video Dave!! I have been extremely impressed with the detail and thoroughness that you have been putting into your videos. You make all of this look very easy!
ANOTHER great video and ANOTHER great bushcraft skill!! Thanks Dave!! I noted also that when you your using the split sapling, though I am sure there are situations the 'V' stick would be helpful, the cordage you tied around the top of the sapling, seemed to work very well holding the worked piece in place. As you perssed down, the wood tilted upward against the paracord and held there. Thanks again!
More good stuff Dave! The level of research you have been doing has really come through on all of your vids over the last couple years. I can never wait to see what kinds of tools and tips you'll come up with next! Be careful or you are gonna find yourself with a history degree lol.
Really enjoy watching your informative videos, very helpful. I live on a small island called the Isle of Wight off the south coast on England, so we don't have really large forests like you, but I still enjoy wild camping and woodcraft in the small forests and copses that I am allowed to go. Our laws are very very restrictive too, but watching you in your country and environment looks liberating. Thanx for the time and effort you put into your vids and in sharing your knowledge.
This was a great video Dave. I always enjoy watching your video's. I have learned a lot in the short time I've discovered your TH-cam channel. I just want to say thank you for all the great information and hope you have years of them to come. By the way that draw knife looks razor sharp. Lol.
Dave you have "Evolved" in a good way. Disc had some of the older Dual Survival vids on and I watched some of your earlier vids here, very nice evolution to where you are at now.
Dave With all the items you make out of trees and branches I am suprised you haven't made a early european shaving horse. If you did make one I missed the video please put a link to it. Great learning information. Mike
thanks for the vids .I think you will enjoy using the draw knife more if you turn it over , so that the bevel is down . this affords you better control to rise back out of the work after diving in. when I teach scout groups (youth) to use a draw knife I tell them to pull it on a skew and slide it sideways while pulling .this way you are using the full length of the tool. much more efficient .love the woods wisdom videos keep up the good work.blessed be.
Dave have you ever thought of building a simple shave horse? If you make alot of handles for things it would hold your material much more securely and wouldn't be hard to make in the woods
Is your jacket from bass pro?made by Columbia if so, I have the same including the pant, I am very disapointed in it and do NOT recomend it, wore out in a very short time, just a few weeks, pilled and lost wool fibers untill only the base fabric remained which is not very strong ripped easily at stress points
Hey Dave, I really like this vise idea. I make primitive bows. I like to do everything as primitive as possible. I cut the tree split it using wood chisels with a wood maul. I really love your vids. I think you do a lot better with out Cody!! Do you have a catalog or anything to order videos or what not? Thanks Buddy keep up the good work. Mark
Weren't Artesians the ones who made Olympia beer? Haha... Artisans crafted wood. are tiz uns I know, but it's the gripe I have with this great instructional video. Thanks for passing on the knowledge!!
Sorry this has nothing to do with the video but, for a 15 year old with small hands and who mainly does chopping and batoning. Should I purchase a becker BK 7 or a BK 10?
Hey, Dave I saw these vices and it made me wonder what vice the man used in one of your videos: th-cam.com/video/9PX8k6Qcr5Q/w-d-xo.html, to hold the planks he was forming with a draw knife..it looked pretty advanced and thought you may know something about it?
Your the king of the woods Dave. Thanks for all that you share.
Every day I learn something worth learning. I really appreciate all of this, sir, and thank you.
Dave you have really helped me over this past years with my wilderness and outdoor skills, keep up the good work with the channel.
The windlass proves itself once again! And another great,,and informative video David. 👍👍

Good stuff as always. Love the video and the new material you are always coming up with.
Nice video Dave. This will come in handy around a BushCamp. Especially since I'm losing my grip as I get older.
Powerful information. Thanks from Texas!

i like your hair, this way, Dave! ;-)
Good ideas, as always!
Very cool. Now I have to see the stump vice video.
Only vices I have are pizza, alcohol, and women. Strangely enough, only the alcohol ever makes it to the woods with me though.
Semper Fi
Great I like working waist high on items will have to check for your stump vise video
Great ad-vise :D.
I seen my grandpa use something similar to that, to sight in a 22 rifle, man that bought back memories
That's just cool. I remember one of your videos from years ago where you used a forked tree somehow for a vice. I think you made a bow?
Great uploads, like the hair, I had to cut mine, too much hassle keeping it clean in the woods...
top notch guy for sure! Thanks buddy

If one could travel back in time and see how much improvisation was done by the frontiersmen to build and stake out a settlement of their own.
excellent tool...thxs for the heads up

Weren't Artesians the ones who made Olympia beer? Haha... Artisans crafted wood. are tiz uns I know, but it's the gripe I have with this great instructional video. Thanks for passing on the knowledge!!
good info
Dave you should do a Q&A like Cody wrangler star
Impressive
Sorry this has nothing to do with the video but, for a 15 year old with small hands and who mainly does chopping and batoning. Should I purchase a becker BK 7 or a BK 10?
- Smallish hands
Davidio2341 neither, its not a very good knife for a lot of money
Condor bushlore or condor basic bushcraft knife both inexpensive and good quality and design
MySweiss Yep, either is a good choice. Since that kabar is more expensive than either, go for the bushlore, it has a much nicer handle.
I'd get bk 7, it's one hell of knife!
NICE
What an imagination .....
sweet
I haven't watched your vids for a long time. Ya got really long hair now, but mines longer.
