It is one of those things that really can be confusing to get your head around.. hopefully I explained it in a way that someone can understand.. maybe I should see if my wife can understand it… not a bad idea moving forward! Since the 70s the AUX sends were also called buses. So the AUX send is the red bus connected to every channel, and if you want something sent out on the master AUX send you turn up how much of that channel with the red knob so it jumps on the bus. If you're doing a phone call you send only your voice using the AUX send and return the voice on a channel with the AUX send off on that channel--so you don't send back the caller's voice.
Hi Ryan, Good explanation , But I'd like to add there are two types of Mix minus, depending on whether you are Up stream or Downstream of the main Broadcast point.. (The set ups are very different) If you are up stream eg Feeding into a show as the guest.. Your Guest Needs to hear your return Mix minus. But the LINE output does NOT contain your Mix minus. (so you the host does not hear yourself back also) In that case you send an aux mix to the ear of the guest. at the broadcast end The Full mix goes to line, Guest plus host, The Host should have a Full mix in their ear, and Only the return to the Guest is a Mix Minus.. These are very different Mixer set ups.

Can you do a tutorial with more on companion and xair 16? I announce rodeos and mix my own music during the show. Having a stream deck running my x16 would make life so much easier!! Clown mic, music, multiple mics for singers, all being mixed over house sound and livestream
I Wish someone would show what the zoom settings look like in order for the zoom presenter to send their audio but also receive the mix minus signal in one zoom call.
If they were in the same zoom call and you were using a normal zoom client you would only need 1 input and output as everything would then get mixed in zoom, unless you are using zoom rooms where you can get individual audio through NDI. but would still "inject" the program audio mix minus into 1 machine

This solutions works even if there are 5-6 People on the call an they are having a discussion? What I mean is, I only need one input/output, as in "Guest 1", and this would work? I am confused :D thanks for clearing this up if possible!
@@NiGO83 no worries! I think I get what you mean. The main thing is you are trying to insert yourself into a call of any sort, if all other guests are coming in on one machine then they all would be mixed by the software together (video and audio) so as long as the audio you are sending to the call from yourself (being on the same or different machine contains everything but what is already on the call (all other guests) then you will be ok. If you for example have 6 computers bringing in each person individually then it gets a little more complicated, but ultimately to get yourself in the call it’s the same process, pipe back in yourself and not anyone on the call and you’re good to go.. hope that helps, let me know if not

Could you change the colour of your mouse when you show your mixer, it would help me see it a lot eaiser - (old age setting in)

I think in this example they are not. I am showing an example where you had 2 different calls for going and showing how this can scale.
