I absolutely loved this video. Especially seeing you as a child receiving the castle for Christmas. A true LEGO collector!! And you made my day to see the yellow castle as number one. It is also one of my favourite sets. I received it for Christmas as a child and have kept it ever since. Loving your videos. 👍👍
Oh man, that Black Monarch's Castle was my first lego set. I remember building it with my dad, it was a birthday gift to my five year old self. I wish it had survived my childhood.
Black Monarch's Castle hands down number one. Got it in kindergarten as a bribe to use my crutches after I'd broken my leg, and it's been my favorite set ever since.
Forestmen torso/shields are on bricklink right now torso: 6402701, pants: 74040, feathers 79806, hat 6414961, shield 6315053, mask 6309203, bow 6280160, quiver 6268960. If you want other castle stuff just put in set 10305 for the lion knights castle and can filter to minifig parts and minifig accessories! thanks for rad video and the christmas footage was lol
Great video Stacey. Your face was a picture when you opened your present, just like my son when he opened his airport set in the 80s. Not sure if the US had forestmens camouflaged outpost, I managed to get one secondhand with a few pieces missing, but had all 7 minifigures including the famous black feather. £40. Happy New year from the UK 😊😊🥳
The Yellow one was the one I had as a child, I loved that set. Mainly had Space Lego and a few other randoms, the castle was just so good though. Might just have to get into the loft when I visit parents next and see whats left lol
Castle has offered so many amazing sets over the years. Definitely an awesome Top Ten to include! #9 and #10 were really an impressive start to the list
This had to be one of the hardest lists you've done yet!!! 6090 Royal Knights Castle is my favorite. Recently acquired the original Castle, but I havent built it yet. So I dont know if my perspective would be changed.
I also have a soft spot for castle sets from mid 90's to early 00's, unfortunately I never got a main castle new my grandmother picked up night lords castle at a junk store for me, but jealous of that King Leo's castle, always loved that one too
What a wonderful video and thank you for sharing your top 10 owned with us! I must admit, I don’t have many from the Lego Castle theme (I was more of a Classic Town guy), but I do have the Dark Forest Fortress from 1996. Dad bought it at a discount price at the time and am surprised to learn the Dark Forest theme was only a North American release at the time. Love this set and the few Castle themed sets I still own today ;)
I LOVE classic town! I actually did a top 10 for classic town too! Dark Forest Fortress is on my bucket list. Such an amazing set! Thanks for watching! 😁
Great video Stacey ! With such a choice, everyone is influenced by the sets they grew up with and those are the best for them. My favorite castles remind me of real castles I used to visit as a child. As a child of the eighties, I spent hours staring at the catalog, but Lego was almost impossible to buy here, I only had a small knight's ship :) Currently, I have chosen the castles that I like the most and I build them, including slight modifications for more fun. My top 3 includes 6086 (on bricks raised plate), 6080, 6085 sets. And of course Guarded inn is a treasure, but it's not a castle. By the way, very nice medieval buildings are also in Lego Ideas book 200, 250, 260. I have one of them currently built and it is better than the castles themselves.
A really nice video! I enjoyed watching it. I also like your ranking, no matter my personal ranking would be different. 🙂 Everything is related to our memories and connection to the castles. My favorite set are all from the 80s.
Love your top 10 list, the yellow castle is my favorite set also. I remember seeing it in brochures when I was young but my parents could not afford it. So as an adult I went out and found one in mint condition with a mint condition box. It is surely the center piece in my castle collection.
Great list! I went through me and my brother's old box of legos recently and was able to luckily realize we had the Royal Knights Castle with baseplate which I remade with almost all the pieces. Now I want to collect them all heh
Forestmen were my favorite theme until Pirates came out. The original Black Falcon's Fortress was my first castle and will remain my favorite. The roof pieces and yellow panel made that one stand out at the time and was fun to build and rebuild. I think the best LEGO castle set of all time is 1584: Knight's Challenge. The character play value on that one reigned supreme for many years and the colors were wonderful, which are often lacking in the big grey/black castles. I remember getting up early in the morning to have a few jousts before school. There was even a drunk peasant!
Great list, Yellow castle is so iconic I love it. Only own one of your top ten though which is the Wolfpack Tower. That and the Black Knights Castle 6086 are two of my favourite Lego sets ever!
Awesome list with some interesting info. I'm surprised to hear that the Fright Knights are impopular. I understand how people might dislike Knight's Kingdom I but I think Fright Knights sets are really well-designed and thought through!
I’ve just decided to start getting into Lego since some of my kids are old enough now. I was really bummed to see that there currently is no castle themed stuff out… I wanted to start buying vintage sets but my jaw dropped with how much they go for now… my brother has all of our childhood sets. I plan to get at least a few from him. It’s really a let down as the older castle sets were so cool and had so much charm to them. So I won’t be buying many, sadly. I did however buy the Wolfpack Tower as I wanted that set so bad as a kid because one of my friends had it and it was discontinued by the time I asked for it… that set cost me about $125 shipping included!! 😬 I do plan to get the other two sets as Wolfpack was always my favorite faction. Brick hammer currently has his design to bring back the faction with the Wolfpack Castle and it looks absolutely fantastic! I encourage everyone to head to Lego ideas website and vote to get that set approved and built by Lego !
I definately miss 6086 which has to be placed in the top 3, in my opinion. The Riverfortress is so incredibly beautiful, so I agree with 6077 and 6085 :)
My parents decided to buy me always the villain' sets since they were usually smaller and cheaper than the good guys castles. In the end I got Vladek, Fright knights and other modular sets in black or very dark gray ❣ Fright knights castle is still my favorite, maybe because it is not a small fort like the others
Oh it's a legends set? I guess i can't enjoy building it or playing with it or displaying it exactly the same as an original! I always look for bulk lots incase some of these appear, theyre so cool and must've been fun to design
Numbers 9 and 7 will probably always be my favorites (despite never actually owning either of them, lol). Like you, 6098 was the main castle set when I got big into LEGO. I remember looking at it in the catalogues that year and trying to figure out how to get it. I also specifically remember thinking about how, if I got it, I would modify it and turn it into one of the castles in the Super Mario games. 😅
From your top 10 my favorite is 6067: Guarded Inn, it just looks so good. My personal favorite castle set is the 6080 it was a set that I got as Yulefest present (like yours 6098). I also had a few of the smaller sets that could connect to it. It's maybe not the best looking set they made (I regard 6074: Black Falcon's Fortress as the best looking one). Then again it's all nostalgia 😄
Set 375-2 was supposed to be re-released under the Legends theme in 2002 as set 10038. There is a sticker sheet out there for set 10038 with all the same stickers from 375-2. You can find a photo of the sticker sheet in the BrickLink forum if you search for ‘10038’.
that first castle was the envy of my childhood, my neighbors had it and i was so jealous, they also had all the vikings sets from that year
Viking sets are also amazing!
Oh man, that Black Monarch's Castle was my first lego set. I remember building it with my dad, it was a birthday gift to my five year old self. I wish it had survived my childhood.
Aw! Well I’m sorry to didn’t make it out of childhood but it sounds like amazing memories!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Black Monarch's Castle hands down number one. Got it in kindergarten as a bribe to use my crutches after I'd broken my leg, and it's been my favorite set ever since.
Lol!
The classic Yellow is hard to beat 😊
You have such a good taste, love it 🥰
Forestmen torso/shields are on bricklink right now torso: 6402701, pants: 74040, feathers 79806, hat 6414961, shield 6315053, mask 6309203, bow 6280160, quiver 6268960. nice collection Stacey, i am building the lion knight castle atm.
PS: You are supercute :)
Great video Stacey. Your face was a picture when you opened your present, just like my son when he opened his airport set in the 80s. Forrestmen were always my favorite, glad i hanged on to my sets from when I was a kid. Wish wolfpack could've received a definitive home set.
Forestmen were so amazing! That is great you still have them! And yes, Wolfpack deserved so much more!
The Yellow one was the one I had as a child, I loved that set. Mainly had Space Lego and a few other randoms, the castle was just so good though. Might just have to get into the loft when I visit parents next and see whats left lol
Great top 10! I was hopping for that kind of video. Very nice collection! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! 😁
So cool! Aww that VHS clip is so adorable! I KNEW the yellow castle would be your favorite! My first Lego set ever!
Great video, Stacey!
Haha! I'm so predictable! Thanks for watching!
Castle has offered so many amazing sets over the years. Definitely an awesome Top Ten to include! #9 and #10 were really an impressive start to the list
You’re right sooo many great sets! And thank you! It was certainly hard to rank them!
Agreed...Castle has put out some killer designs!!
This had to be one of the hardest lists you've done yet!!! 6090 Royal Knights Castle is my favorite. Recently acquired the original Castle, but I havent built it yet. So I dont know if my perspective would be changed.
Both great sets! Definitely hard decisions! Lol
I also have a soft spot for castle sets from mid 90's to early 00's, unfortunately I never got a main castle new my grandmother picked up night lords castle at a junk store for me, but jealous of that King Leo's castle, always loved that one too

I LOVE classic town! I actually did a top 10 for classic town too! Dark Forest Fortress is on my bucket list. Such an amazing set! Thanks for watching! 😁
Love your content. Totally in line with my own favourites. So great to see all the old sets.
Oh man, that guarded inn is amazing! Also I remember getting that Forest Men River Fortress for Christmas that year. *sigh*...Yes, I'm old.
You're only old if you stop building LEGO!
The 375 Yellow Castle was my first castle set. I still own it and consider it a personal treasure.
Great video Stacey ! With such a choice, everyone is influenced by the sets they grew up with and those are the best for them. How much fun was it putting all the castles together again for this video? Thanks for sharing!
Soooo much! Building LEGO castles gives me so much nostalgia! Thanks for watching! 😁
I like the forestmen set. My brother and I each had a copy of the Camouflage Outpost as kids.
A really nice video! I enjoyed watching it. I also like your ranking, no matter my personal ranking would be different. 🙂 Everything is related to our memories and connection to the castles. My favorite set are all from the 80s.
Great video, love to see your collection, you have quite the selection of castles!
Thank you!!!
The Christmas video was priceless!
Thank you!
Love your top 10 list, the yellow castle is my favorite set also. I remember seeing it in brochures when I was young but my parents could not afford it. So as an adult I went out and found one in mint condition with a mint condition box. It is surely the center piece in my castle collection.
Of the ones you mention, Black Monarch's Castle would be my favorite. Got that one when I was a kid and have loved it ever since
Your reaction to King Leos Castle reminds me of my reaction to my Black Monarchs Castle fifteen years earlier. 😃
Great list! I went through me and my brother's old box of legos recently and was able to luckily realize we had the Royal Knights Castle with baseplate which I remade with almost all the pieces. Now I want to collect them all heh
What a great find! So many to collect lol!

Super cool! My beat thrift store find ever was Yellow Caster WITH BOX for $200!! It was 98% complete!
Great list, Yellow castle is so iconic I love it. Only own one of your top ten though which is the Wolfpack Tower. That and the Black Knights Castle 6086 are two of my favourite Lego sets ever!

You're adorable 😅. I completely missed out on castle and western themes. I got into lego in my late 20's at 2015 😢😢😢
I definately miss 6086 which has to be placed in the top 3, in my opinion. The Riverfortress is so incredibly beautiful, so I agree with 6077 and 6085 :)
🦌💚 Forest Men for me, but your entire collection is awesome! Congrats on acquiring so many great sets!
Thank you!

Stacey is the Princess Storm!
lol your brother saying you have to share it :)
Sounds like me and my brother
CASTLE
So much to choose that I don’t even know what to choose 😂😂😂😂😂
Largey over the road had that yellow castle and I can remember being so envious of him because that was not a cheap set. Hey Largey, you still got it?
From your top 10 my favorite is 6067: Guarded Inn, it just looks so good.

😃
Lego Creator Knight Kingdom on PC !
Me having no castles 😭
I guess in a way the Harry Potter sets are the new castle theme 😮
True lol
i wish molded dragon would come back i collect lego dinosaurs instead
Writing this before watching the video: if set 375 isn't nr. 1, I'll lose my faith in humanity.
🫣🫣🫣
I would have reacted just like your brother..."You have to share it..."
Set 375-2 was supposed to be re-released under the Legends theme in 2002 as set 10038. There is a sticker sheet out there for set 10038 with all the same stickers from 375-2.
You can find a photo of the sticker sheet in the BrickLink forum if you search for ‘10038’.
Interesting! Too bad that didn't happen! That would have been great!
