    Spot on explanation of the difference. I couldn't make up my mind for some time but your explanation nailed it.

    your final statement is spot on. Good graphics = the cheapest way to make your car feel expensive

    Hi Bobby. Was just wondering if you would know the additional fuel consumption the turbo engine would have over the NA engine in terms of percentage? Thanks.

    I think the best way to do the middle row is like the Kia Carnival or Honda Pilot which you can fold the middle seat or took it all away and store it in under the boot floor. But those are a segment above this CX8

    early 2021 i finally can afford myself a used German premium car. but immediately the wife's Toyota Yaris felt inadequate. then was looking for a SUV for her, the only one that felt on par in quality was a Mazda CX-5 2.5T. and now needing a 3 row SUV, there is almost no option other than a CX-8.
    Even a Tiguan Allspace doesn't look premium enough

      Tiguan lack of active safety system for Malaysia is unexcusable especially for a family car.

    Great car, but I hope Mazda Malaysia can give more option on the seat configuration.

      Nit giving second row bench seat configuration is non starter for me as third row will not be used most of the time. But i want bigger turbo version of cx-5 so too bad.

    The lower compression ratio reduces the engine temperature and thus the amount of Nitrogen Oxide produced.

    If I'm not mistaken, the cx-8 is built on the cx-9 platform rather than the cx-5.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We look at width of a platform. As that is the only thing that isnt variable in a platform that can be lengthened or shortened. Both CX8 and CX5 is 1840mm width. And you only need to drive all three to know CX8 is nearer to CX5. If you wanna know why the CX8's wheelbase is the same as the CX9, its because they cant cannibalise own flagship with a longer wheelbase lower segment car

    • @edmund09
      @edmund09 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for explaining. I think several other Malaysian car reviewers said that the cx-8 is built on the cx-9 platform. That's where I initially got this from.

    Blardy Bermaz still using the old mzd. No shame. Japan has been using the new mzd n screen for so long now. Even dare to remove the ALH. Then increase price on April...

      depending on which region. SUVs are popular & almost everywhere in Malaysia.

    My personal complaints on this cx8:
    - Seats less shoulder support
    - Gear knob too near to a/c control (distraction)
    - multimedia screen too small
    Finally mazda please change your design. The only brand that put the same design from SUVs to Sedans in and out. Boring.

    • @JeffErin
      @JeffErin ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Personally, driving a Mazda 3 Gen 4 until now still not tired of the "ageing interior". Simple and clean, no need to overcomplicate the interior with fancy ambient light and big ass screen. Just focus on driving

      Agreed with you Andrew...
      Mazda can shuffle interior layout while make it more ergonomic.
      So the exterior, evolution of that same corporate look with oversized grill with tiny headlights ... Even cx-60 headlights are awkwardly tiny square shaped compared to its gaping inverted dumpling grill.....

      I like how the company spend million on R&D to ensure functionality and look, and slowly improve the design from there just for consumer to say why no new design?
      That's why we see more and more facelift every year and some of it keep getting uglier, because new look sell and peoples just care more about look even if it sacrifice functionality, there is just so many idea the designer can think of before they run out of idea, hey...as long it's a new design right?

    Wow Bobby you need to get your facts right. The cx8 and cx9 is the same platform buddy and the cx5 is a smaller Mazda 3 platform. Maybe do some actual research. The cx8 was made with a narrower body to meet Japanese road requirements.

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know. But platform means little in Japanese car making. Vellfire is same platform as Camry. CX8 and CX9 is miles apart when you drive them and use them. Platform means little.

  • @tomsoleymanbik3266

    MAybe do some real research. cx8 and cx9 is the same platform and cx8 is the flagship in Japan until cx80 comes out.

    Still a Mazda only reviewer you have to be detail and specific but in reality since we consumer own an exotic especially in world highest car tax country Singapore what is just a luxury car you can’t truly afford much needing financing that’s y need to do more reviews to improve business…. We own it in cash not feeling anything so watching any review about small cars only seems like doing charity buying them someone with Rolex won’t need a Seiko ya so buying a Seiko is actually degrading and charitable purchase to support the branch if I buys a Mazda is insulting maybe the rest here is truly necessity case by case situation.
