  • You will surely all remember the troubled history of the Fyra V250, the famous 19 trains built way back in 2008 by AnsaldoBreda for the Dutch railways and then rejected by the NS and SNCB themselves due to numerous problems with the quality of the materials.
    To date, 16 of these are in regular operation at Trenitalia, which uses them on various Frecciarossa connections, while the remaining 3, however, have had a different outcome: we are talking about the V250 n. 4803, 4805 and 4882, which, after returning to Italy in 2014, were first abandoned at the Hitachi in Pistoia and subsequently forwarded to the SITAV workshops in Piacenza and used exclusively to supply spare parts to the examples in service.
    In this video we will take a close look at the V250 4805, the only one that can be visited because it was abandoned on the railway tracks outside the gates: the convoy is divided into two sections, the first of 5 elements and the second of 3, next to the latter, among other things, you can see the last low floor existing ex Tilo, to be precise the 50 83 20-39 111-5.
    It goes without saying that the Albatros in question is in terrible condition, devastated both by time (note the completely rusted trolleys and invaded by creepers) and by acts of vandalism (broken windows and graffiti).
    This train was built in 2008 and reached Vienna in July 2010 for testing in a climate chamber, arriving in the Netherlands on 12 October 2010.
    On 22 December 2011 it was taken over by NS Hispeed to carry out the famous high-speed services between Amsterdam and Brussels, which then started on 9 December 2012 but as we all know, suspended in January 2013 due to problems with the trains themselves caused by snow and ice.
    The train, after less than 1 month of commercial service, was therefore set aside at the Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer port and subsequently brought back to Italy on 12 September 2014; set aside at the Prato interport, the train was subsequently transferred to the SITAV of Piacenza in 2017 and left in the place where it still lies today.
    For obvious reasons already mentioned, the train is currently safe from possible demolition, but unfortunately, it will never run on the tracks again.
    The train in question is made up of the following bodies:

    Quando lo vedevo all'interporto di Prato era in migliori condizioni. Ignoravo la sua storia.
    Ogni volta che ci passavo di fianco con il camion (la cabina alta serve anche a ciò), ci leggevo "Fica" e non "Fyra" sulla fiancata. 😂

    A prescindere che possa piacere o meno, non mi sembra giusto fargli fare una così brutta fine. È anche vero che io da vecchio macchinista in pensione, conserverei tutto, sopratutto i vecchi rotabili e le locomotive a vapore ma so che non è possibile si intaserebbero i binari secondari di tutte le stazioni. Parlo così perché c'è sempre un po' di nostalgia. 😊👍

      La versione italiana sta funzionando molto bene con un minino di messa a punto iniziale, la stessa che era prevista in Olanda. Con qualche mese di rodaggio sarebbe andato bene anche da voi, ma la questione non era tecnica, ma diciamo politica

      Hopelijk niet. Dat gedrocht mag wegroesten, waar het staat. Zet de ICNG er maar bij.
      NS had de X2000 moeten nemen, die is mooier en veel effectiever.

      Erano un progetto a ridosso della crisi del 2008, si può dire che Pistoia ha fatto i miracoli su quell'aspetto, per il resto, ora che però sono stati migliorati da trenitalia, si meritano d'avvero tanto.

      Stanno operando con un tasso di affidabilità molto alto in realtà. Hanno dei limiti dovuti alle richieste del cliente originale ma alla fine il treno il suo lo fa. Trenitalia voleva tutti i treni ma 2 non gli li ha avuti. Va detto che li ha pagati come un regionale a 4 casse quindi ha fatto un affarone

    Questa storia ha un che di misterioso. Erano stati costruiti su specifiche di NS ed SNCB. Se non ricordo male dovevano collegare gli Aeroporti di Amsterdam con quelli di Bruxelles. Idea alquanto bislacca. Ed è probabile che questo, capita la fesseria fatta, abbia indotto i committenti a cercare di ritirarsi, cercando di limitare i danni.

    Parlando con dei ferrovieri pare che come convogli siano relativamente validi, l'unica pecca è che costano parecchio in termini di manutenzione e che esteticamente i musi sono davvero brutti

    The compartment doors remind me of the doors (not the band) we have in some older trains in The Netherlands.
    Another fun thing, or it could have been funny but isn't, is that some Fyra trains of AnsaldoBreda also stopped in Breda.

    Selon Wikipedia, ce train Fyra était fiable avec les options Winter adaptation montées après coup. Trenitalia utilise ces trains depuis 2019 sur la ligne Frecciargento sous le nom ETR 700.
    Cette rame délabrée est-elle encore sous saisie judiciaire ou abandonnée pour une autre raison ?
    C'est là qu'il faut creuser, pas dans la désolation.

      Trenitalia wanted all the trains but this is in reserve, probably with thee intent of selling the project to a non italian operator. The covid stopped the affair, we will see in next months/years if the rumor is true

      In Italia circolano 16 esemplari dei 19 costruiti, dovrebbero essere stati tutti o quasi ripellicolati "Frecciarossa" e sono in esercizio tra Venezia e Milano con prolungamenti vari verso Genova, Trieste e Torino.
      In teoria solo uno era irrecuperabile, quindi forse è quello del video, due sono stati tenuti per ricambi, i restanti 16 circolano quotidianamente e si direbbero pure affidabili. Non sono comodissimi, ma erano nati per un percorso molto breve.

      @@aviationazzurraita1486 si esatto, che poi è il motivo per cui le ferrovie Belga e Olandese fecero questo ordine custom perché non esiste un treno di ruolo comparabile, anche l'Alstom Coradia, quello omologato per i 200Km/h (in Italia è battezzato POP) è comunque più piccolo e non è fatto per la tratta AV/AC
      Il risultato è che ovviamente, a budget ridottissimi, consegnarono in ritardo di quasi tre anni tre convogli che erano ancora per parte prototipi, a cui va unita la scarsa capacità dei commerciali italiani di fare bene il proprio lavoro, acuita dal fatto che la AnsaldoBreda era un carrozzone di inefficienza e logiche clientelari all'italiana maniera.
      Subentrata Hitachi hanno finito lo sviluppo, corretto i danni, e solo il convoglio prototipale è finito demolito. I restanti 18 ne hanno tenuti due per ricambi e 16 sono in esercizio senza nessun particolare problema e senza nessuna modifica sostanziale.

    Io credo che i tecnici di Trenitalia, conoscendo bene i prodotti in uscita dalla non compianta Ansaldo Breda siano riusciti a compiere il miracolo che non è riuscito ai loro colleghi olandesi mettendoli finalmente in opera con successo.

      Furono i Belgi a metterlo fuori servizio, ritirandogli la licenza di esercizio. Non era una questione di utilizzo: il treno era di per sé un pericolo pubblico, una bara rotolante. Lo dimostrò la voluminosa relazione tecnica presentata ai parlamenti olandese e belga. Leggi la relazione.

      @@grbadalamenti Ti sfugge perché non hai letto quello che ho scritto. Ho specificato per esteso che queste bare rotolanti sono state sottoposte ad ampi miglioramenti tecnici prima di essere rimesse in servizio in Italia. Questa è la differenza. È perfettemente comprensibile che i Belgi e Olandesi non volevano aspettare ancora a lungo (le perizie parlavano di 18-24 mesi) prima di vedere i loro Fyra in funzione. Naturalmente, il contratto di vendita prevedeva l'acquisto di treni pronti per la circolazione, quindi la consegna di treni non pronti per la circolazione costituiva una violazione del contratto. Non è difficile da capire.

Si, "finalmente", dopo tanti anni. l contratto di vendita prevedeva l'acquisto di treni pronti per la circolazione, quindi la consegna di treni non pronti per la circolazione (perché erano pericoli mortali per i passaggeri) costituiva una violazione del contratto. Non è difficile da capire, anche per un Italiano.

    Beh in realtà la costruzione era buona ed è stato dimostrato dalle prove date da Ansaldo Breda in tribunale quando vennero portati li dagli olandesi ,che al momento di eseguire le prove non seguirono le istruzioni che furono date e fecero di testa loro infatti il tribunale diede ragione ad Ansaldo Breda che riprese i treni che gli olandesi rifiutarono di riprendere, ma fecero un accordo di avere dei soldi per ogni convoglio che avrebbero venduto e furono acquistati tutti da Trenitalia con alcuni utilizzati da cannibalizzare come ricambi per quelli che girano sulle nostre rotaie..

      Furono i Belgi a metterlo fuori servizio, ritirandogli la licenza di esercizio. Non era una questione di utilizzo: il treno era di per sé un pericolo pubblico, una bara rotolante, come dimostrò la voluminosa relazione tecnica presentata ai parlamenti olandese e belga. Leggi la relazione.

      The construction was atrocious. Please read the technical report from NMBS/NS, the train was missing certified breaks that could be used at high-speeds and used tape to hold important components together. If that is "Italian Quality," then that is not something to be proud of.

      @@purrt-kurt Exactly. The Italians turned this into a question of national pride, which was stupid, as it was a technical matter. They're capable of making good trains, their Frecce Rosse are excellent, but their V250/Fyra was demonstrated to be crap, a rolling coffin, and they're still not ready to admit that - because they feel wounded in their national pride. Such a shame...

    Without that extreme December in 2012 this train would have been in service in the Netherlands. The problems occurred during that cold snowy last month of 2012 would have been solved many years ago.

      No way. It was crap from the start. Winter weather or not, the Fyra was a public hazard and that's why the Belgian railways (not the Dutch) withdrew its operating licence. Some cables were attached with tape, some doors did not even close properly and, most incredible of all, the train was not even equipped with an appropriate high-speed breaking system. It was just crap, winter or no winter.

      That's just not true. The extensive technical report put out by NMBS/NS clearly showed that trains had severe production issues. The lack of high-speed breaks and tape being used to hold hydraulic components together are among some of the most extreme offenses. That would have been a problem regardless of weather.

      Just coming here to say: while going 250km/h they lost roof panels. They lost a door once. alot of parts fell of. It wasn't only in December.

      Nope, every train, whem taken apart when back in Italy seemed different. Wiring was not the same in all trains, yes, taped. The repaired trainsets (against high costs) that now drive in Italy, on only one line, will be taken out of service. Don't know when, but they still have some problems, I read somewhere.
