    1. Notatah momiltiayaya kemman pewki tlaawetsi. (my dad was preparing the field when it started to rain.)
    2. Yalwaya nochichi mitoniyaya pampa tlawel tonatiyaya. (yesterday my dog was sweating because it was very hot outside.)
    3. Noawi kimoloniyaya atl para tlaoni (My aunt was boiling water to drink.)
    4. Axnikneltokiliyaya nowampoh kemman nechilwihki tlen ichichi weli tlahtos, pero kemman “fui” para kikaki, nitlattak tlen melawak (I didn’t believe my friend when he told me his dog could talk, but when I went to listen to him, I saw that it was true.)
    5. Nochocho kinekiliayaya nonantsin tlakwalli mohmostla, pero naman weli tlakwalchiwa. (My little brother used to ask my mom for food everyday but now he knows how to cook.)
    6. Nikyehyokoayaya ninawatis mohmostla (I used to practice speaking Nahuatl everyday)
    7. Mapostekiyayah imakwayowan kwawitl pampa tlawel tlaehekayaya. (The trees’ branches were breaking because it was very windy.)

      nikyehyekoayaya ninawatis mohmostla (repeat the -ni for each verb).

    Can you talk about words like: quiilcauhtiyauhqui (fue/andando olvidando/was forgetting), mohueyiltiyauhqui (fue/andando creciendo/was growing), quipatlatiyauhqui (fue/andaba cambiando/was changing); panotiyauhqui (fue/andaba pasando/was passing)? Are these also past progressive like -yaya or at least do they function as such?

      yup but they emphasize the "manner" or direction in which the verb happened more.
