This guy is like a cross between Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, its honestly crazy how talented he is and I cant get enough of his music! He deserves so much more recognition than he already has. I first saw him in the eurovision song contest in 2018 Portugal, I loved his song and was shocked that he didn't win. He is my favourite artist by far and I hope that he carries on with this career.

Mein Vater ist genau ein Tag nach ESC gestorben. Ich kann es noch gar nicht glauben er war so jung. Ich vermisse ihn so sehr und das Lied hilf mir irgendwie die Trauer zu verarbeiten weil ich weiss das ich nicht allein bin. So ein wunderschöner Song und zugleich auch so traurig wenn es ein aufeinmal selbst betrifft.

I randomly came across this song today and I can't stop crying as it feels like this song is basically my life!
I am the youngest of 3 boys in the family.
I lost my dad in 2007 when I was 18.
He was killed in an accident on the way to make an appointment with the doctor. The consulting hours starts at 9 but since the doc is of high demand, people queue from 6 onwards.
I didn't have a phone of my own and mostly used his to play games and text friends. I had set an alarm to wake up @5:30 to study for the series exam as part of my engineering degree.
My dad was never good with tech and always used my help for things like changing a ringtone.
Guess when my dad's car collided head on with the truck... Pretty sure he must have got distracted while trying to turn it off!
What makes it worse is that a few days before, I had a fight with him and we were not on speaking terms...
My dad left home for Dubai at a young age and basically fed the family of parents and 7 brothers. He dreamed of a better future and made everyone believe that he is fine although he lived with the bare minimum saving every penny! It was the same when our family of 5 lived together as he sacrificed a lot for our happinesses.
I used to think that I am nothing like my dad but now when I live alone and although I earn enough for a good living, my inclination is to always to go for the value for money option! The make believer in me after he was dead pretended to be alright in public and cried in private.
I have buried my dad's memories in a corner of my mind as I cannot help but think that I am responsible for his death! I can't even go to his graveyard without feeling guilty...

Mein Vater starb vor nun mittlerweile 6 Jahren. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich es bis jetzt noch nicht so richtig verarbeitet habe. Es kostet einfach zu viel Kraft über das Geschehenen nachzudenken (man muss dazu wissen, dass mein Vater länger krank war und insbesondere einige Tage vor seinem Tod die Lage sehr kritisch war). Es ist und bleibt die schlimmste Zeit meines Lebens.
Dieser Song hat so viel Wahres in sich! Das ist unfassbar! Ich musste wirklich krass weinen, als ich ihn gehört hab...unglaublich, dass ein Song so authentisch, so gefühlvoll und so ehrlich sein kann!

Ich fühle mit dir. Es ist eher ein Verdrängen/Nicht-wahr-haben-wollen als ein Verarbeiten. Mein Papa war wortwörtlich von heute auf morgen 4 Monate lang krank und lag in seiner letzten Woche im künstlichen Koma. Jedes Mal wenn ich Lieder dieser Art höre, fange ich ohne jede Vorwarnung an zu weinen. Egal ob ich 5 Minuten davor noch in bester Laune oder tottraurig bin.
Es zerreißt mich, wenn ich daran denke, dass mir das mit meiner Mama auch noch bevorsteht.

Krass, Michael kommt aus dem Nachbarort, völlig unbekannt und knallt eines der schönsten Lieder, die ich jemals gehört habe, heraus und stürmt immerhin auf Platz 4 beim ESC. Für mich der absolute Gewinner, so ein grandioses Lied. Ich höre das jeden Tag aufs Neue und bekomme immer wieder Gänsehaut und feuchte Augen. Auch wenn ich zum Glück meinen Papa immer noch habe, geht mir das Lied ans Herz.
Mein Vater ist im Januar gestorben und dein Song hat mich sehr berührt. Kannte ihn vor dem ESC nicht und musste gestern Abend weinen, als ich ihn das erste Mal gehört habe.

This month, this moment... 10 years ago exactly. My father died. Died of asbestos-cancer. He was father of ... THREE kids. Mother, ONE heart so much nursing of my dead-sick father which WOULD NOT bring him back. She knew. 5 months - Diagnosed and died, lost more than 50% of his weight

I know this song is about a father, but this song hits me so hard, I cant help but remember my mother who was my childhood hero. She was sick and two years ago I had to make the decision to take her off life support. I was only 22 and like this song says, she will never know how far I go in life.
I have heard many songs about the loss of a parent. None of them are like this. This may not have won, but it is one of the most heartwrenching songs I have heard, which means more to me than winning a silly competition.

Romania Mare - nothing is impossible .....look at Lena 2010 - nobody expected her to win with the song "Satellite" - but she did - or look at Lordi in 2007 .....never expected that to win. So a top 10 could be possible for your and for my country (I cross my fingers)

I'm an atheist or agnostic, but my father died too when i was 22 and now i am 25. I will never accept that i will never see him again. My father passed away on the 17th March, and this song just shoot straigth into my heart and reminds me of him, everything he stood for, my dad was my harbor and safety in life, and now i walk alone without him. But he raised me up to be strong, confident and make it on my own, but i feel a emptyness inside either way.
