Your pronunciation of van Gogh is spot on. The other pronunciations are French or German and not how the man pronounced his own name. He also signed his work “Vincent” because of this pronunciation issue.
"It's better to check, then have to remove a bit more than to build things up with putty". Truer words were never spoken! :) The last two washes on the faces really do the trick--well done!
Those came out nicely. Liked your approach to face painting too (I always freak as the flesh tones look ghastly pale until the red wash) and appreciated seeing how it looked wet and then dried and ready for next color.
Thank you for sharing, I bought these figures for a diorama idea from my Luft46 book Thank you for the great tutorial, as I do scratch build, working with these figures will be great
I think that are very nice James . But i recomend to speend money on a resin figure, they are much better sculpted , and das easy to paint, but i think that are really nice . Well done mate
No issue with your figure painting, James....always an informative and well shot tutorial video. You're absolutely right....figure painting requires lots of practice to keep the momentum going (which is something I need to kick start again!!). Great job so will be keeping an eye out for the upcoming diorama.
Plastic heads, sometimes you find decent faces but the ears are a let down. Only real solution I found is to make a press mould from Hornet heads or detailed resin heads and recast the ears. Making the mould from either Oyamaru or whatever it’s called or actual epoxie putty. Seems like a lot of extra work but does bring styrene heads to a usable state…
Looking good James. The only downfall is the figures themselves IMO. Your right when you say the details are soft. It's really a shame that Miniart has such rough castings, however, their poses and subject matter are always really good. With the technology today there really shouldn't be all that excess flash either. I think they need to really step up their game if they want to stay current and competitive. Looking forward to the diorama... KUTGW.
Thanks mate ! Yeah it's a tad dissapointing. I thought they were old ones until I looked on scalemates and saw 2017 release. I might have to invest in some generic hornet heads or go all resin next time !
@@lpjmodels Yeah, agreed. I try and avoid buying Miniart after being quite disappointed with previous purchases. I find MB to be a little better when it comes to plastic. Yes, resin replacement heads are a must.
@@SmallSoldier I have to say I completely agree. Some of their kits are amazing and the fit is perfect with next to no flash. But some of them are just horrible
Excellent work James, nice video! Used this set myself couple of years ago, had similar problems as usual with some clean up first but overall liked them a lot. They'll look great in your diorama. Really well painted - looking smart!😌👌
Thanks mate ! I really struggle with figure videos. Without filming I can get such amazing results. But the extra distance with the camera in the way makes it 100% more difficult :p
You have done a excellent job with these figures, I really like the way the unifo3came and and the skin tones were also well done best regards from Australia.
Great vid and nout wrong wit’ your brush skills there mate! I used the Tamiya X]Extra Thin quite heavy on gaps that needs some ‘love’ to fit right. If you use enough it melts the plastic, press hard together till the softened plastic oozes out slightly then hold till almost set. Reapply some glue to soften the ooze and all good…..no filler!
Hi James, I really love your channel up with Ebroin’s miniatures. There is a warplane build I’d love one of you modelling experts to do. A Vietnam era A 26 Marauder. It has to be the meanest looking plane ever and was the predecessor to the A10. Just an idea for a build. It would be weathered to hell too - your specialty.
Can I ask if you wet blend all the highlights on the cloth, or if the paint is transparent enough that they blend in naturally? Something I’m having a bit of trouble with when it comes to my own figures
Changing the thumbnail screwed with me big time LOL At first I thought I was losing my mind, I was like the background was just white and now it's black. 😂
Great painting, you even managed to accentuate the parts that are not that crisp or lack details. Please, for some other time, think about painting some high quality resin figures with lots of details.
Great figures painting skills as usual. You done some real good job. BTW that footwraps called portyanki (or in this case - portyanka) and i don't hink they would be so white) But tht is just my opinion, work done undeniably great. P.S. Sorry for bad english.
Great videos as always. Are you going to the show at the tank museum at all this weekend. I might go down Sunday, depends on the weather as it's about a two hour drive each way for me.
What do you think of these Figures?
Can you build the takom m47 and special hobby tempest in the Pakistani scheme or the new airfix spitfire xviii in the Indian scheme ?
As per usual mate an absolutely amazing video. I'm absolute garbage at figures, but I might give this a try
Quite realistic. And very nice explained video. Have you tried using oils at the top for blending? Its way more easier and the results are quite good.
Very nice looking figures!!
Brilliant !!!

You help me out everyday. And you don’t have busted fingernails, which is a major plus. Keep the videos coming, you’re amazing.
Thankyou, that's very kind !... I used to, but I was sick of having them taint my videos lol.. strange things drive us to change and improve.
I always look forward to watching your videos because they are so informative and easy to understand. Good job!! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe mate.
