Ravenhood series!!!!
The Bear Town trilogy!!!

I recommend the Bible if you are into fantasy.
TJR has such a way of writing that make characters on paper feel real and I love that! My 6 star reads are boys of Tommen series 😭😍
SHE SO DOES!!! And omg i need to read that series...
Usually I am just a quiet viewer and don’t comment but I felt the need to tell you about my favorite book of all time.
How We Named The Stars - Andrés N. Ordorica
Please check out the description on Goodreads. I can’t even begin to describe it myself. It is the most beautifully written book I have ever read and I have never cried harder over any other piece of media. It has made be consider dropping all of my other books on rating because it’s just so good. It just came out this past January and I think more people need to know about it.
i just checked it out on Goodreads and sounds amazing and DEVASTATING! Thank you so much for sharing, i love when people comment on my videos & i can better connect with you all 💓 it's officially on my list 👍🏼
Loved hearing Great Gatsby was your comfort read in college! It so totally was that for me as well! Am now a subscriber to your channel and super excited to read The Song of Achilles! Looking forward to your future recommendations!
No way! I feel like I don't meet many people where the great gatsby was considered a "comfort read" hahaha. thank you so much for subscribing and supporting, it means so much to me 🌟💓
You've a calming voice, where i can listen to whole day. New subscriber here❤😊
this made my morning, thank you SO much!! and thank you for supporting and subscribing, it means so much 💓
I agree.... Her voice is so calming. I love it too! 😊 I am a new subbie!!
@@belindakim1901 aw, this is so sweet! thank you for being here!! 💌❣
I hate hate hated Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I felt so depressed after, but it was neat hearing a different opinion from someone that liked it! I'm 35% through Remarkably Bright Creatures and enjoying it so far!
My 6 star reads are The Silent Patient as well as The Collected Regrets of Clover. I'd recommend The Maidens by Alex Michaelides if you like Greek mythology!
That’s what I love about reading tbh haha. I hope you continue to enjoy remarkably bright creatures, it’s truly lovely!
Same
❤📚 I've read many of these and totally agree! The ones I haven't read are on my tbr. Now, I am even more anxious to read them! Thank you for the great reviews!
This is so kind, I'm so honored that some of these have made it onto your tbr!! it sounds like we have really similar taste!
@AliviaReads We sure do. I love that you mix up your reading. There are so many great finds in all the genres. 😃👍
thank you!!! i love it too 🥰
Just stumbled across your channel today and was thrilled that you mentioned The Secret Life of Bees. I fell in love with this book soon after it was written and convinced my principal that it needed to be taught in our Southern Lit class (which I taught, or course). I adored teaching this book! I wanted my students to experience the book - not just read it. We had bottled Coke and peanuts (not everyone was convinced to pour their peanuts in the Coke) and I let those who wanted to try kneeling on grits to do it - after I had tried it and realized that T. Ray had hit upon one of the worst punishments ever for Lily.
Have added a couple of your other books to my want to read list on Goodreads. Thank you for the recommendations!
I loved reading every moment of this comment, thank you so so much for sharing!! it's such a special thing to bond with others (and students) over a book as special as the secret life of bees. thank you so much for the support!!
I haven't read 'Bees' yet, but I fell in love with Sue Monk Kidd over 'The Mermaid Chair' ages ago. Highly recommend, especially as women!
Remarkably Bright Creatures is stunning. One of my favorite books of all time! 💕
yay!!!! i so so soooo agree 🐙🐙🐙🐙
I cried at the end of The Song of Achilles! LOVED it!😍
ME TOO!!!
The Secret Life of Bees!! ❤ Its been one of my all time favorites since 2007 as a sophomore in highschool. It is beautiful and yet heart wrenching. Definitely worth a read.
Also I have been questioning the Tomorrows since it came out as a BOTM.. and you sold me 🎉 adding to my box next month.
I’m so glad other people relate to loving that book! 📚
And omg pls lmk what you think of tomorrowx3! Such a lovely one
Shelby Van Pelt Remarkably Bright Creatures Tovah was in Washington state . Thanks sharing, you have some great 5-6 ⭐️
oh okay, i remembered it was something on the west coast! thank so much!! 🫶🏼✨📖🐙
All of your pics are so good!! I loved all of them and they are all in my personal "hall of fame" (except for romance I will check that author out) But Song of Achiles is so special and amazing! unexpected and deserves a platform.
This is so so sweet, thank you so much!! It sounds like out halls of fame are very similar...I'm so glad you agree!
I love Christina Lauren. I loved the Unhoneymooners and I'm about to read Love & Other Words. I am not a fan of Emily Henry but then again, I'm more of a mystery/thriller, classic or basic fiction reader. The Great Gatsby and Jane Eyre are my absolute favorite books! Those two, as well as Little Women, are my comfort reads. They're just the best.
aw thanks so much for sharing!! i havent read jane eyre, but sounds like i need to...what are your fav mystery/thrillers? 💓
@@AliviaReads - anything by Greer Hendricks (The Wife Between Us & You are Not Alone are my favs). Louise Penny has a series an Inspector Gamache that's set in Canada that I LOVE!
I discovered your channel through this video. No need to beg! Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Haha, thank you!!
Wuthering Heights/The Little Prince/I Capture the Castle/Rosemary's Baby/The Shining/Demon Copperhead
I just finished demon copperhead and loved it!
❤❤❤Demon Copperhead. The Poisenwood Bible is my favorite book.
@@annissagraves3076 I love Poisonwood Bible, reaad it while living in a one-room adobe and hay bale house in SoCal with no electricity/phone/hot water/central heat,
@annissagraves3076 Mine too. Anything by Barbara Kingsolver.
Fun list. TJR is amazing. I loved The Song of Achilles which jumpstarted my love of Greek retellings. My favorite classic is East of Eden by Steinbeck (almost anything by Steinbeck is incredible). The story is great. The characters well developed and the symbolism amazing. Highly recommend it ❤
Wow, this is amazing, I so so agree! I've read the grapes of wrath & cannery row, but never East of Eden! Looks like i need to add it to my list...🌷🌸💓
If you loved “Love & Other Words” I highly recommend Every Summer After by Carley Fortune! Similar story but I preferred ESA so much!! 😭
I'll check it out! My sister loves that one
If you like song of Achilles, have you tried Circe? It’s beautiful
i did read circe!! also such a good book 🇬🇷📖🕊️
Thanks for the list! I agree with you on many of these. My recommendations include The Murmur of Bees by Sofia Segovia; A Little Life by Hanya Yangihara; The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, and A Gentelman of Moscow by Amor Towles. Happy reading.
Love this!! Thank you for sharing ✨🫶🏼
I second The Count of Monte Christo. The Quincunx by Charles Palliser is also worth reading
Thank you for this video! I am one of those that WANT to read (audible) my commute to and from work allows for the time … but I can’t commit to a book so I’ve added these books to my library I just need time press play 😬
Haha, this is so real...sometimes it takes just the right book at just the right time. Rooting for you! 🌷✨
I agree with most of your recommendations- I’m like you and read all types of books
thats wonderful!
Agree with a lot of your book recommendations. I also enjoyed The Housemaid by Freida McFadden and Birthday Girl by Penelope Cruz.
Housemaid by freida mcfadden was sooo goood
@@AliviaReads she has become my favorite author
@@julianaserrano9986 that’s amazing!!
So many here that I also love! 😍 Especially Tomorrow x3, Gatsby, ACOMAF, and Beach Read. I think I need to re-read the first two Shades of Magic books and then get to the third one because so many people love them and I want to give them a fair chance now that I’m more of a fantasy reader!!
Aw YAY!! Such similar reading tastes it sounds like!! I'm actually rereading the shades of magic series this year and loving it! 💓💓💓
@@AliviaReads for sure, love that!! Oh nice, I’m sure it’s so been fun to get back into that world and love it all over again 😍
it's the best!! and my sister is getting into it for the first time, it makes me so happy
@@AliviaReads love that, so fun!!! 😍
I just finished this phenomenal new book of fairy tales entitled Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles - it was phenomenal and I think you'd love it. It would go with the lovely recommendations here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)
This is so so sweet thank you so much! Sounds like I absolutely have to check this out 🫡
I couldn’t put Remarkably Bright Creatures down!
Such a sweet fun read, I'm so glad you enjoyed!
I Look forward to adding some to my list 📚
aw this is so so sweet! i hope you got some good recommendations 🌸📖
Remarkably bright creatures is a perfectly written novel. I also love everything Taylor Jenkins Reid and this old English major UCLA alumni loves The Great Gatsby… my favorite of all time.
UCLA alumni for the win!! such incredible books, it sounds like we have some similar tastes! 🌟
I really loved My Favorite Half-Night Stand, too!
its such an underrated book!! so glad you enjoyed 💓
Loved remarkably bright creatures and him as a character
marcellus is my king 👑
20:20 "fun and spunky" is definitely not the words I would use to describe what is arguably the most annoying character I've ever read😂
Have you read beautiful little fools by Jillian cantor?? It’s a great gatsby retelling from the pov of the women. It’s on my tbr for this month! My friend loved it
omg no i haven't! i haven't even heard of it! can you lmk what you think of it?? now i'm so curious! ✨
@@AliviaReads will do! I kinda want to listen to the audio for the great Gatsby first. It has been so long since I’ve read it
@@ThePlannedReader that’s succchh a good idea 😍
Thanks for this book idea. I literally went straight to Amazon and ordered one just now. I LOVE the Great Gatsby so I'm beyond excited for this book.
@@susanspann427 don’t come for me if it’s no good 🤣 I still haven’t gotten around to it
One of my all-time favorite sci-fi books that has an amazing love story is Recursion by Blake Crouch. I highly recommend it to everyone!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
omggg sounds amazing
West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge
i dont know this one!
@@AliviaReadsSince you liked Remarkably Bright Creatures, I think you might like it. 1930s, giraffes need to be driven from New York to San Diego. People’s responses to seeing giraffes drive by, the young man driving the truck and his “relationship “ with the giraffes, it was such a good story.
@@deetee8100 that sounds so cute 😭
BESSSSST book EVER!!!!
Have you read alone with you in the ether?? By Olivie Blake. I think it’ll be a six star for you. I feel like it ruined me in the best way and I am chasing down that same feeling and luckily did with vicious by VE Schwab! Highly highly suggest both!
i havent read either of those books! officially on the list now...
I have DNF’d every Emily Henry book. I don’t even try anymore. And LOATHED Archer’s Voice.
I thought I was the only one who didn’t like Beach Read. Thank you!
I LOVE CHRISTINA LAUREN TOO!
YAYYYY!!!
When i saw that you loved "Normal people" i decided to subscribe and watch the rest!!!!❤❤
This made my day!! I think a lot of people see normal people and unsubscribe LMAO
I read Seven Husbands and watched Daisy Jones so I have no doubt I’d love Malibu Rising. She is phenomenal.
malibu rising is so lovely, i highly recommend!
I love how different our opinions are on Normal People. I HAAAAAATED it!!! But I love all you other recommendations!! Looks like a couple books will be added to my TBR!!
thank you bestie!!! normal people def isnt for everyone...
I can’t believe I still haven’t read an SJM book yet😅 I really need to get into ACOTAR when I have the time!!
Haha once you start there’s no going back. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
6:53 could not loath this book more…but that’s bc my adhd brain couldn’t comprehend her writing for the life of me bc she doesn’t use ”quotation marks” I wish my adhd wouldn’t get in the way bc I really think I would’ve liked it 😭
This is so valid...so so sooo many people don't like this book!! It's so funny how the responses can be so different
@@AliviaReads yea I totally feel that if my adhd didn’t make it hard for me to read without quotation marks I’d like it…maybe I should try the audio bc I have severe FOMO lol😁
book FOMO is so real!!!
This! I couldn’t stand reading it for that reason alone! I need quotation marks…and first person
@@janellehall2501 you’re not alone!!! It was like my brain was running around in circles trying to comprehend what was going on and who was saying what😭
If you love a Taylor Jenkins Reid, you gotta read One True Loves!!!!! It’s my favorite of hers!
omggggg!! It's now on my list, thank you so much!
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. It’s my comfort read. I love August.
Finding Me by Viola Davis
Unpopular opinion- but I thought Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow was cliche and predictable. There were aspects of the story I liked, but on the whole - I couldn’t figure out why it was so popular
~Then again, I don’t play video games 🤷♀️
its such a lovely story 🐝🐝🐝 and honestly such a valid opinion on tomorrowx3, it's definitely not for everyone!
Book favourites are certainly a matter of opinion, and everyone has the right to enjoy what they enjoy. However, these books appear all the time on booktoks, and are certainly rather hyped up. I've read 23 books this year, and I can't imagine that all of the ones mentioned are 5 stars. The only two out of my 23 challenge this year was the Brother Karamazov by Dostoyevsky and Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beech Stowe, and I only gave them 4 1/2 out of 5, and these are amazing literary reads.
For someone so incredibly well-versed in literature, it's amazing that you failed at both grammar and at author name in a single comment.
You should add Baye Hartshorne s Ghosted The Treason House Trilogy Book 1.Great paranormal romance
ill have to check it out!
Hi, I am Ann and also read The Great Gatsby in high school decades ago. I wasn't thrilled with it but I didn't hate it. I might consider a reread but there are so many books to read, I am not sure I want to reread anything right now. I just finished listening to Happy Place. I am a very conservative woman and didn't realize what I was getting myself into, but I do agree that the author really had some interesting themes and the development of her characters as deep. I also like a second chance romance (not for me because I think that bridge is well burnt) but reading them feels satisfying for some reason. The Secret Lives of Bees is not memorable for me. I think I read it in a book group but I cannot recall anything about it. I loved The Red Tent. I am into thrillers and psychological drama (is that a genre or did I just make that up) So Lisa Jewell and Karin Slaughter are great options. Happy reading
you would love the boys of tommen series!
this series has been on my radar for a while now!! gonna have to finally go read it haha
Immediately subscribed. We definitely have the same reading style ❤
my whole HEART, thank you so much!!
Thank you!
6⭐️? I rarely find a 5⭐️ outside of poetry or classics.
Fair enough haha
I love your tast...which is strange to say, as we tend to love the same books. Every 5 Star book of yours is now on my TBR. But we have the same favorite Authors and it is just amazing. I wish you would post more often, as I look forward to everyone of them. Thank you. Have you ever read the unbearable lightness of being? I would say that it is my favorite classic, but all of your 5 Star books (except for three that are not on my TBR) are also my 5 books, so you might like it.
I love meeting people w similar book taste! I’ll try to post more often, that would be a great goal for me…thank you for the support! 💗
And I have not read that book but sounds like I need to 🤩
So glad I found your channel. Many of your selections are my favorites as well ❤🎉New subscriber
aw no way!! i love finding people with similar book taste 🌟💓✨ thank you for supporting!
"Just a single man, Fyodor Dostoevsky, is enough to defeat all the creative novelists of the world. If one has to decide on 10 great novels in all the languages of the world, one will have to choose at least 3 novels of Dostoevsky in those 10. Dostoevsky’s insight into human beings and their problems is greater than your so-called psychoanalysts, and there are moments where he reaches the heights of great mystics. His book BROTHERS KARAMAZOV is so great in its insights that no BIBLE or KORAN or GITA comes close.
In another masterpiece of Dostoevsky, THE IDIOT, the main character is called ‘idiot’ by the people because they can’t understand his simplicity, his humbleness, his purity, his trust, his love. You can cheat him, you can deceive him, and he will still trust you. He is really one of the most beautiful characters ever created by any novelist. The idiot is a sage. The novel could just as well have been called THE SAGE. Dostoevsky’s idiot is not an idiot; he is one of the sanest men amongst an insane humanity. If you can become the idiot of Fyodor Dostoevsky, it is perfectly beautiful. It is better than being cunning priest or politician. Humbleness has such a blessing. Simplicity has such benediction."
Read all but one!!
That’s incredible!!!
TJR is my favorite author…. I haven’t read the seven Brothers of Evelyn Hugo as of yet, I usually read Romance but I loved All her others, I just get lost in her books
All 5 stars for me
So so goood, I’m so glad you agree!
Subscribed. I'll be coming to you for romance novels.
my day has been made, thank you so so much!! will do my best to deliver 🫡
I LOVED Taylor Jenkins Reid until I read Carrie Soto is back. That was not the book for me lol. Could just be the tennis lol.
ahahaha this is iconic-i havent read that one yet...LOL
Soooo, one of your FAV books of all time is Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow? LOL
Can’t trust anyone who likes normal people, beach read, happy place and song of Achilles 🤣
I give you 3 out of 5 stars.
Yes, I agree with Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow which I bought two years ago, when it came out, for my daughter. I read it first.
Such a lovely book 📖
i am sorry but i cant trust book recs from anyone who gave 5 stars to normal peope😭😭😭
People have different tastes in books! And a person’s taste will change over time.
Then Jack Edwards’ recs should be a no no for you either
Or seven husbands. Good but not 5 for me
Normal People is a well written book. Extreme realism.
Or archers voice
These just seem like extremely popular books, not extremely good books for the most part.
Yeah but good is subjective. 😊
Normal People…. So sorry, the worst book ever for me.
Happy Place🤮
Apparently you have read none of the great novels. This is just recent pap.
Branch out and see what you say next year.
As a newer avid reader would you consider a few titles for me? I did read To Kill A Mockingbird in HS and really liked it but haven't read many others. My favorite book in the last 4 years was America's First Daughter. I have not enjoyed many books that I have read in the past two years which has made reading less desirable. I would like some classic recs. TIA, if you would recommend.
Why do you keep saying I should buy this book?? We definitely can borrow books if we can and we should because papers are made from live trees! Please encourage people to be more mindful of wasting precious resources by borrowing from libraries and friends 🌸🦋🌷💜
For some reason the TH-cam algorithm is feeding me all these "best books of all time" lists from people under the age of 40, in some cases under 30.
Absurd. I would never in a million years have had the arrogance at so young an age to make a list with the phrase "best of all time' in it.
And then their choices are mostly just drivel...
Yawn. 😊
No hate here but just want to let you know that some of those authors are problematic. Happy to see you've found your comfort books.
could you please say which ones and why?
Yes- please do tell!
@@larinhaa_booksandgospel The author of Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Christina Lauren, and Taylor Jenkins Reid. The authors are pro-genocide. I cannot understand why these authors support such thing.

Why even post this? The beauty of books is that there’s something for everyone. There is zero benefit to this comment. It’s all a matter of personal preference
