I wish you could do a interview with a Texas horticulturist who’s a expert on the best pollinator trees and shrubs that can take our Texas heat and drought conditions. I plant hundreds of trees and shrubs for my bees. I don’t do wildflowers because I have to mow to keep the destructive grasshopper plagues down in this sandy soil. They thrive in loose soil because they can lay eggs easily. I lived in hard black land a 20 minute drive from where I live now and there were very few grasshoppers.
Part of my problem is finding an issue but not having the necessary supplies to attend to the issue. By the time I can find what I need weeks may have passed and that becomes the reason the hive may die. Have you thought about making a searchable pdf with diagnostics? If this is what you see pictures and written problem then do this with pictures/videos/supply links.
The more I listen to David the more I like him. Love the Simplicity aspect of teaching he emphasizes. lIke David said that is for sure lacking in all the beekeeping classes ive seen.--On hands beekeeping with failures is how we learn so much more. Way to go David! good interview Chari
David how can I get one of your candy boards for a long lanstrought hive? Need to get ready for winter. I know you said you have to make adjustments to make it work for the long hives. Hoping to hear from you soon. You're a great bee keeper and I've learned a lot from you, thanks
