    My sister and her husband are deaf. They have been using Google's live caption recently to help keep up with conversations. Google has said that the tensor chip will "drastically improve the natural language processing for speech-to-text". Will you test this please when you do your full review. Thanks

    • @eddtru
      @eddtru 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Fingerprint on the back only works when you're holding the device. Front position allows interacting with the phone without picking it up while it's charging either laying down flat or vertical stand(ex pixel wireless charger gen 2) etc. I respect your opinion, you shouldn't upgrade if this a huge issue for you, but this way is more convenient.

      I really don’t get why a lot of vids I’ve seen say this.
      As a bystander with no experience in these kinds of vids (full disclosure) Id agree with how the verge prefaced it: it allows creators to produce the same “day of event” videos that you would have previously in a non social distancing scenario AND also gives you more time pre-launch to test and review… less rushed production times.

    • @VedanthB9
      @VedanthB9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +78

      @@seangodde5429 That’s an interesting way to look at it. The reason I believe these channels term it a “red flag” is perhaps because putting an embargo on the review almost hints at the product being unfinished/unpolished. Those little software updates, camera features etc., the embargo makes it seem like they may be compromised in some manner.

    • @Karthik-yy7gw
      @Karthik-yy7gw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Nope, the embargo is because of the unfinished camera and other software updates which will be completed by the time phone reaches the user's hand. One more reason for it is, MKBHD and few others like to kiss apple arse every time, so they wouldn't let even a single chance of taking down Pixel with their unfinished work.

      So basically MKBHD sounds sometimes like calling apple but he is always soft. Just like an adopted son of apple to promote their brand.

      @@Tom_Stevens617 I don't live under a rock but I do live on one. Just my opinion anyway. It feels like 70% of phones I see reviews for have some variant on the basic top left camera bump with small bezel with a notch or hole punch camera up front. I guess what I really mean most phones nowadays don't visually break the mold too much (save for experimental and folding phones). I haven't really been surprised at the design decisions in new phones in these past few years. My other point is that it's refreshing to see things like Marques noting the button placement and the little divot between them, not to mention the camera bump. It seems small, but I think having constraints on your videos makes them feel more unique, like in this case he couldn't release any software details. Reminds me of the old days when Marques didn't have millions of dollars in gear/property at his fingertips, so sometimes he had to focus on details rather than the big picture. Don't get me wrong, I like this too. It's just nostalgic for me I guess.

      @@breal1577 I mean each reviewer who was seated a Pixel 6/6 Pro. Had to sign an embargo. And that embargo limited them only showing hardware and the home-screen. It's strange, because we already know everything there is to know about the Pixel 6. Not only all the leaks, but literally Google themselves. Additionally, it's strange because Android 12 has been in beta for months and there really isn't anything secretive to hide there either. I can understand not wanting to show camera samples or Tensor benchmarks yet, but Google hasn't ever set these kind of limitation embargos before.
      Lastly, Monday the 25th is also the embargo lift date for Pixel 6 full reviews. It's also the same date all the Apple product embargos lift. So not sure if Marques will release several videos or just split them on different days. Eum, I started thinking that it is actually not that good. Especially for pixel 6 when there is an orange color on the top, the wide camera bump, and another color on the bottom. See, like there is something inconsistency that can't be explained why. Moreover, the front display design that's seems to be outdated.

    my first reaction was the price point of these was so much cheaper than i expected, and the specs between the base and the pro are so negligible that im super tempted to go with the base model this time. i've always gone with the XL version but the difference in size between these two really not that much at all. the spec jump from the 3XL to 6 is very nice on paper. So far from what i can tell, the Pro model is really just $300 extra bones for an extra camera. i cant wait for a more in depth look!

    • @gourabbhattacharjee1054
      @gourabbhattacharjee1054 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not just an extra camera though ; the Pro has higher refresh rate screen(120hz vs 90hz), better resolution display (1440p vs 1080p), bigger battery. Also the bezels on the pro are much smaller than the vanilla 6.

    • @fretshr3dder
      @fretshr3dder 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gourabbhattacharjee1054 I've never owned anything with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz and since I'm coming from a Pixel 3XL I just figure a 90Hz seems like it would be enough of an improvement for me. The screen resolution though is an interesting point because it seems that with a slightly larger screen, the base model has a lower resolution compared to the 3XL. For me personally that seems to be the main drawback. Stuff like bezels and chins have never actually bothered me and is not something I take notice of especially since I'm always cased up. But yes, good points to bring up!

      @@fretshr3dder He also didn't mention that the Pixel 6 has 8GB of Ram and the Pro has 12GB of Ram. The Pixel 6 has 3 years of support. The Pro has 5 years. The Pro will last you a lot longer.

    • @fretshr3dder
      @fretshr3dder 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darthpryce ah very true. RAM doesn't seem to be something I'm concerned with also though! Again, coming from a 3XL, the base 6 has so many hardware improvements and the difference between the base and the pro are too little to truly justify an additional $300 tag. I also am no longer the heavy power user that I used to be. Really I only care for the Pixel line because of the direct Google support and freshest Android experience

    They should have put fillets on the camera visor so it would be a smooth transition instead of that dust-collecting crease. Maybe some crafty people can fill it up with epoxy or something to round it out.
