The amount of nostalgia I got when I searched up checkgate on youtube and looked at cocomelon's old videos. like I would watch them all the time when I was younger I completely forgot about their videos so this video was like a hidden memory unlocked. :')

Well I literally grew up watching cocomelon videos as it started the same year of my birth, lol. I don’t dislike it’s videos, even now I watch it with my brother and the children from my mom’s kindergarten every once in a while, but I never really questioned it’s history.
Coco melon stunts brain growth
As a Cocomelon veteran, I can confirm they have gone really down hill. I remember the ABCKidTV era I also remember the P video with the pig and the penguin, I remember the ant with the big eyes and grin (that creeped me out), I also remembered the dancing letters. The reason I even joined TH-cam back then was because in kindergarten, we learned with an alphabet group called The Letter People so I decided to watch some of their videos and that’s when I discovered more alphabet groups like Alphablocks, KidsTV123, CVS nursery rhymes (I think that’s what you called it), Walphabet, and of course ABCKidTV. I also remember the talking tv and I remember videos like the Gummy Bear Song, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Crazy Frog, and Nyan Cat (that scared me for some reason). And all I can say is that how disappointed I am at Cocomelon. They could have stuck with the original animation style and videos like KidsTV123 (they still do the same intro since February 2009 when the channel started).

Fun fact: TH-cam removed dislikes because of this thing. Since the channel always get more dislikes than likes. And TH-cam was like "I'm gONnA PrOTect tHIs ChaNnEL anD soMe oF sMAll CreaTOrs" and ofc forgot about clickbaiters and scammers
They should’ve just added a feature where you can remove Dislikes if you wanted but it probably wouldn’t be good either
They already did have an option to remove dislikes and likes so I don't get what's the point of the dislike button update

I used to watch Cocomelon before it was a company. I honestly was so confused when I saw it now because I was used to the slow and soft animation style it used to have.

Cocomelon’s definitely got such a weird history, with all the name changes and their old videos not getting many views at the time. By the way, I never heard, or seen the channel before it was rebranded into Cocomelon. Btw, funny outro you did there

I remember watching these videos of cocomelon when I used to learn ABC. I used to see these videos everyday. I’m surprised how far they came and even though I’m not interested in nursery rhymes nowadays I still watch the videos they make because it makes me remember my childhood.

I watched their old videos all the time! In fact, I grew up with those videos! I actually loved this channel and never thought it was weird. I watched abc kid tv all the time when I was young so this is nostalgia.

I’m guessing that thatsmeontv was a kids website with games and stuff, with their own videos just being on youtube (which would explain many views and not that many videos or subscribers) and then making the channel the main thing

Me and my baby brother actually loved their abc videos back when they were abc kid tv around 2015-2016. It wasn't weird to me at all because it feels nostalgic and calming. Now cocomelon's just a series of generic nurserykids show :(

This checkgate theme makes me remember the time 14 years ago, but i wasnt born yet but i know the style or theme on that, it makes me miss being a baby and the drawings kind of creeps me out, but it is really cool, i cant believe cocomelon's channel had started since i was not born yet! Also i aint a cocomelon fan, i just realized their channel got created at 2006 but started at 2007-
So when I was a kid, I watched these old stuff and I can't believe it was Cocomelon since they rename their channel with the new one

during 2007, Cocomelon has 0% idea of how to make 3D Animations like today. SO that is the main reason why cocomelon started with 2D animations in their first few videos.

Ayo so Ive heard of their channel from my younger sibling and cousin since their ABCKidTv age and I just gotta point out that many channels started copying their content and characters and I believe they had to change their channel name to become more distinct to younger audiences. Idk if it’s relevant but they got partnered (maybe even bought?) by another company called Moonbug who also makes children songs / content but much “weirder” from an adults perspective and since that team up their videos also adopted the new Cocomelon art style. That’s all I know x). I even used to come up with theories like oh Jj’s brother is blind since he reads his textbook as if he reads braille or maybe Jj having this illness (that i forgot what it’s called) that makes it seem like the ppl around him or his friends are animals. There’s Cocomelon lore guys, maybe a hidden fandom somewhere/j
Edit: The reason on why there are multiple alphabet videos that don’t go in order is because there’s a full video of those clips together and I suppose they just decided to reupload some parts of that video.

Cocomelon gets 1 subscriber for every 1000 views on average. Mr Beast gets one for every 100 views so it's true. Kids don't like subscribing.

I am somebody who watched those "learn the alphabet" videos from Checkgate. I spent YEARS trying to find those videos until I discovered these old videos by cocomelon. they were the exact same I remembered from all those years ago.
I didn't even know that those vids are from Cocomelon! My relatives had the video saved on their TV and we just sort of watched all the time. We were kids, I was like 4-7. (So, like 6-9 years ago-)
