ALASKA CRUISE!! Glacier Bay & Hubbard Glacier

- Seeing the glaciers is one of the highlights of an Alaska cruise! And when going northbound or southbound you get not one, but two glacier days!!
On our first sea day we sail through Yakutat Bay to see Hubbard Glacier, the largest in all of North America!! This was a great day because I had never been here before so it was a unique experience. Also, the ship had a Polar Plunge on the outside pool deck which was fun!!
The following day, we were in Glacier Bay National Park. I just love it here and is always one of my favorite days of the cruise!! When sailing with Holland America, they serve Dutch pea soup while viewing the glaciers! Love that!

Oh Sophie was so cute, frozen. I love that you brought her with you, great lifelong memories. hugs
This was the most amazing trip!!
Awesome Video! I never understood the beauty of the Glacier until I was there. Its like heaven! Light and White and Quiet and Peace. Very hard to describe. You just have to go. You got some really amazing shots. Well done!!!🚢🚢🚢
I have enjoyed this video. It is so wonderful that you have time with your little one. I am thinking it is time that we do the train again. This is time you will treasure for ever🥳
I totally agree!
You and Sophia are so darn cute. Alisa, you do such a great job at explaining what you see, what the ship is doing, the weather and what it feels like and your dining experience. Such a great travel video! Thank you for helping plan our Alaska Cruise Tour experience May 2025. From this video, I see why dressing in layers is so important.
Thank you for sharing this with me. I just loved it. My husband and myself are looking so forward to getting too go there.
On our trip we had a balcony on the hump which allowed up both forward and side views. We spent a lot of time out there taking pictures. It was perfect!
This has been a great series. Reminds me so much of our Alaska land and sea cruise. It was fun to watch Sophie experiencing everything.
Glacier Bay is beautiful, definitely want to get up there to see it.
Glacier Bay is so incredible!
That lunch view wow nice glacier view
Love Sophie's enthusiasm! Making memories together-priceless!
Crows Nest is nice, but we spent almost the entire day on our balcony for Glacier Bay. We loved it. Couldn't get enough of the beautiful views.
We have Alaska on our list. Great video!
What a nice trip. So many different experiences to enjoy 😊
It really is!
Love your videos because you explain everything Sophia is so funny !
Glad you like them!
I bet if Jason was on there with you guys he would have jumped in too 😂 amazing video. Love you two.
The small excursion boats, at least on Carnival, you purchase as a "Home Port" excursion. Did that in 2022 and it was phenomenal and highly recommend. It's expensive but TOTALLY worth it.
OMG Move used Michael Buble' LOVE HIM.
Great vid
Great tips. Beautiful views
Hi Alisa and Sophia!
We are loving the Alaska series ❤
Your trip is making me excited for my Alaskan cruise in September 2025! I cannot wait!
I did a Celebrity cruise to Hubbard and we got right up to it. The weather was perfect and the water so calm that the Captain said he never got closer. It was amazing.
The Solstice last week? If so, I was on that cruise also. Only .3 nautical miles away. It was definitely amazing.
@@tss20148 Actually it was the Eclipse 2 years ago.
Celebrating 55 on an Alaska cruise since covid hijacked my 50th bday. Im geeked!
Where is Jason? Glad you got a trip with your granddaughter. We are heading to Alaska on Princess in early June 2025. We can't wait. It will be our second trip to Alaska.
Which Princess boat? We are going on Caribbean Princess mid May 2025. Can't come soon enough!
Great Video
Great video ❤❤❤❤
The smaller boat which gets closer to the Hubbard Glacier is an excursion you book through your ship. We were on the Celebrity Solstice last week and took it. Although in our case the Solstice actually got closer to the glacier than the smaller boat. 0.3 nautical miles away. The captain said closer than any other ship had made it this season. The smaller boat was still cool because it is a very different perspective and we were able to remain close to the glacier longer than the ship did. It was a beautiful day with no fog and high clouds. You could see the mountain tops.
We went to Hubbard glacier in the middle of June. Our ship couldn’t get closer than 2 miles away. We were glad that we booked the small boat excursion! We were within .5 miles of the glacier. Expensive but worth it!
Does Sophia do any organized kids’ activities /go to a kids’ club? So many families with kids seem to utilize these and seek out cruises with that emphasis. So far, it seems you two are vacationing how we always have: time with family. … What a nice day for a walk in Glacier Bay 😊
She is not a fan of the kids clubs. We hung out together which is what we both wanted ❤️
The smaller boat going up to Hubbard glacier is an excursion. You get off the ship right onto the small boat before the ship enters Disenchantment Bay. I took that excursion last year. Very expensive. I have no regrets. Turns out due to the weather and the ice the ship itself never even went into the bay so the people on board barely got a glimpse of the glacier before it disappeared into the cloud cover. Meanwhile we were up close to the glacier getting photos and videos of it calving. Rainy and foggy but Gorgeous!
Can't wait for our Koningsdam trip at the end of September... Went five years ago with our boys and loved the bow views with a bowl of pea soup in hand. By the way, a glacier "calves" but the "l" is a silent letter, just like a cow having a calf is "calving". Maybe because a calf kind of drops to the ground during the birth like chunks of ice fall into the water?
We were so close to Hubbard! They launched a lifeboat and stopped at huge iceberg to take pictures for a photo contest.
How do the glaciers get their names? Beautiful footage!❤️
Great video. What did Sophia think of those glaciers after doing the Kenai Fjords cruise?
She thought all of the glaciers were incredible!
What time of year did you go?
I follow This Alaska Family and they kayak near glaciers and fish.
That would be my dream take the trip y’all are making now.
Do y’all have any more trips planned?
It would be nice to see the boys, especially Ethan and his family haven’t seen him in a long time
Jason and I have trips for the rest of the year. Us girls are going to Disney next month (excited for that)!! Ethan is in the military so it’s hard to plan trips with him right now. We are hoping for a big family trip next year.
@@EECCTravels I meant to ask if y’all had any family trips planned with the boys. How are they doing? Especially Ethan I haven’t seen him in a long time.
When was this filmed?
Glacier Bay is the only time my husband put on his sweatshirt. I'm always cold. He's always hot, but he had to admit it was mighty cold in Glacier Bay.
Yes! It’s always freezing this day of the cruise!!
I had pea soup on Princess. Will they stamp Hubbard too
They didn’t bring a stamp on board when we were at Hubbard. We had GBNP rangers on board with us the next day.
Isn't HAL buffet great. The boat that goes to the Glacier is an excursion. They usually serve split pea soup but believe its on the front or forward deck. Personally I would rather have hot chocolate. Lol.
Yes! They have the best buffet!!
What are you using to collect your stamps, because I don't think that is your original passport.
It is a National Parks Passport
Oh cool.@EECCTravels
How is Sophia related to you?
Sorry, but these videos are so much more watchable without your husband. And the Hubbard Glacier small boat excursion through HAL is $349.
Show us more of the actual scenery and glaciers and less you blabbing about it and showing your kids
Girl......how many times did you say glacier? Lol
