The Russian Bar Routine through 3 different Code of Points (CoPs)

- The Russian Bar Routine has been a very successful bar routine in terms of not only capable of contributing high scores to the team score, but also winning multiple medals. Since 2013 where 2-time Olympic Champion Aliya Mustafina laid the foundation for the construction of the routine, many gymnasts from Russia have performed the routine. (2015 World Champion Daria Spiridonova, Olympic Champion Vladislava Urazova, and Olympic and World Champion Angelina Melnikova)
Though some gymnasts from other countries have performed routines with similar structure (Madison Kocian, Lee Yun Seo), the routine has become synonymous with Russian Gymnastics.
However, the changes in the CoPs in the past few years has lowered the difficulty of many routines, yet we still see the Russian Bars routine being performed till this day. Will it remain as competitive as it once was in the next CoP : 2022-24? In this video, we explore the difficulty of the Russian Bar Routine through 3 CoPs, 2013-16, 2017-21 and 2022-24.

*Hi everyone!! I'm finally back from my 3 month hiatus!* 🥰 It feels so good to be done with exams and studying, I physically cannot express my relief. I can finally breathe. Anyways, some things have happened in the months which I was gone, and I hope to cover them in the coming weeks, if it still isn't too late.
Aside from that, I intend to elaborate more on the upcoming *CoP 2022-24 of the next quad* , so that everyone can familiarise themselves with the changes in the difficulty scoring. I will also be exploring more into the *creative/fun side of routine creation, so expect to see some routine construction videos and insane routines.* 🤩

Seems to me, they should work on conditioning then to hit a 1/2 rather than the inevitable deductions that come when they miss their handstand on the orphan, but that could just be because I hate those so much!
If i remember correctly Aliya used to do a cast handstand with half turn rather an orphan and got the handstand, wonder why they switched everyone else to an orphan
Melnikovas pike stalders show big improvement. Most gymnasts can’t really do this element well and it looks cheated, They barely get the feet under the bat

inbar 1/1 + komova ii - 0.2 cv
komova ii + pak - 0.2 cv
pak + van leeuwen - 0.2 cv
nope, inbar 1/1 + komova ii is E+E but both are not flight. The connection would fall under the D+D(or more) connection which is awarded 0.1 in value.

@@felipebarros1572 yes it is a flight skill! My sentence was replying to the assumption that the Inbar 1/1 + Komova ii connection gains 0.2 CV through the E+D (Both Flight) connection formula. I realise now that by saying both are not flight, it is interpreted as neither of the skills are flight elements. Sorry for any confusion created😅

Melnikova is so overrated. Her pirouettes are always late, bent arms on the shaposh, awkward form on the jaeger, wild legs on the dismount. It's so frustrating how she outscored Urazova on Bars throughout 2021, despite always being worse.
