Thank you so much Mandy ❤ I have a Christian PNG design store at Etsy & I haven’t seen much success despite being on Etsy for about 3 years now. Came across your channel 2 days ago & im learning so much from you. Thank you so much 💕🙏💕
Mandy, thank you sooooooo much!!! This is the info I've been looking for, and I've been looking at a lot of great TH-cam videos on creating a successful Etsy shop. Your videos are absolutely stellar. So smart. Thanks again.
Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge! I can not say enough good things about the content or your teaching style. Your explications make the most complicated procedures seem easy. I am 77 and with your training class and your additional videos I believe I will have the tools to make an established POD Etsy store productive. I've had 27 sales in the shop I started the end of 2022; however bout 6 months of that time I was not working on it due to an illness. Not good at all, but I continue working daily.......
I want to thank you for actually giving instruction!!! I need to build an income that helps bring in money during retirement 💗 I am lost still but I will keep watching and rewatching until it sinks in 💗 I actually wanted to start my online business last year but have become babysitter for grands which is precious but now I am looking for starting possibly POD ❤
Love her modules! So informative! I actually paid for a course elsewhere and it was not as useful as this one! Thank you for sharing your true knowledge!
Thank you, Mandy! This is all very very helpful setting up my Etsy shop for the first time. It would be great to include a link to another video where you explain how to get Etsy Hunt and all its parts. I finally figured it out, but it took quite a bit of time!
Mandy, these videos are gold! Thank you so much. One question for you if you happen to see this: If it's true that most all Etsy customers shop/search by individual product need (e.g., "teen new driver key chain") rather than by store brand, why is it critical in the 3rd step to carefully construct your store by one of the three types you shared? Most customers will search for a product. If we're lucky ours will show up. They'll click into it and decide whether or not to buy it, but they won't factor in our store organization in their buying decision. Thoughts?
Love how thorough your course content is. You go over all the little details I think a lot of other people leave out or just don't deliver as well. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much, Mandy! Halfway through the course and I'm gobbed-smacked at your excellent, precise, no-fluff, professional teaching style! (I could have gone on and on with the adjectives, but I think you hear me!) I have been through so many mini courses, you-tube vids and downloads that I was about to throw my hands up in sheer confusion and frustration! But then... Mandy vids started showing up on my feed and everything changed! I've been binging your vids, but when I found your mini course... just wow!!! Such a great foundation to now build on! I already have several etsy shops but none were really suited to restyle for pod... so I have another one waiting in the wings, ready to apply what I'm learning! Just have to say it again... Thank You so much, Mandy! You're a keeper and a God-send!
I really appreciate the detail in your videos. Great content delivered in a clear and easily understood manner. You are a natural, gifted teacher. Thank you! ❤ SayessDesign
Enjoying the SEO video so far:) When your mockups became good quality and designs were significantly better than when you first started, how many weeks did you wait and see if you were getting good CTRs?
So helpful, and so glad I found you. So maybe you go over this ahead, but I’ve always heard you want to put your title keywords as your tags. If etsy likes long tail keywords, that won’t fit in the tags, is that ok?
Thank you so much for all your videos. They are the best and most informative so far that I have seen❤. Question please. As a new shop is it fair to set your profit margin to 65% or should you start with lower prices?
Another great video Mandy thank you sm! I am currently doing the homework for module 3 but unfortunately, I'm stuck. In module 1, I chose fitness as one of the profitable niches. After looking further, I found custom sports team name shirts as a bestseller, so now I am adding that as my product for module 3. The problem is that I cannot narrow down the keywords when doing further research about this type of product; they're very broad or unrelated. Maybe I'm missing the point of this exercise but I feel like if I cannot do this I wont be able to progress further in future research endeavors. Any tips?
Hi Mandy, Thanks for the great videos. My shop is up and running terribly. 3 weeks in and it is a mess. Found your videos and I an trying to backstep. My free version of Etsy hunt does not look like yours??? Do you have a pay version? Maybe I am impatient but I cant do anything like what you are showing. It is a separate page even though it is integrated with my shop. It frustrating. Please advise. Thanks.
Thanks for the great explanations, Mandy! Further on in the video (39:57) you make a suggestion on keyword strategy with two examples of keyword combinations: 1. minfulness yoga mat christmas gift for sister 2. yoga mom shirt birthday gift for mom However, in Etsy research, I noticed that many best seller listings feature titles that repeat phrases, such as: "Retro Teacher Life Shirt, Teacher Appreciation Tee, Boho Floral Teacher Shirt, Checkered Teacher Shirt, Gift For Teacher, Teacher Sweatshirt." Even though every single term of this title, such as "Retro Teacher Life Shirt", is a long-tail keyword by itself on Etsy, wouldn't it be better to delete all duplicates to end up with a title like this: "Teacher Life Appreciation Sweatshirt Boho Floral Sweatshirt Checkered Retro Gift Shirt". The algorithm could put together almost exactly the same search queries from this title. Or is this strategy not so good because it doesn't mention the words of each long-tail keyword exactly in the order a customer would search for them and as they are stored in the Etsy database (such as "Teacher Life Appreciation Gift", "Boho Floral Sweatshirt", "Checkered Retro Shirt")?
Do you have a video tutorial on the batch designing you did in Canva? I know you went through it here, but I need a slow, step-by-step guide. I couldn't quite see all the steps you did. (Thank you for all this content - it is wonderful!)
@@studiomdesignsco Yes, I did. It just went a little fast for me. I'm not real tech savvy and have to be shown things very slowly the first time. I'll go back and watch it again, and I know there are some articles on Canva's blog about batch creating, I just wanted to see if you had a video since you're doing exactly what I want to be doing. Thanks again!
I plan on doing more videos on e-rank soon too - it’s a lot to take in and there are lots of capabilities with it! I like to use keyword lists to keep myself organized. I talk about e-rank a bit in my Niche Basics video in case that’s helpful too! 😊
Great Video. I follow all your content. Quick question about the Trademark issue. My husband wants to start a handmade business on Etsy. He makes wooden decorations. He has a great idea to incorporate a Barbie-themed color scheme into his next creation. If he used Barbie Themed Doll House within the title and description, for example, and no other registered trademarks had Barbie with the product of a doll house, then he would be in clear correct? Thanks for your guidance.
Not in my opinion - my primary shop I consider general (meaning I work within a variety of niches), and some of those fall within the professions niche as well. It’s great to try out a variety to see what works best for you 😊
Hi Mandy, Thank you for all your really helpful content. I have a question please - Once you've come up with your long tail keywords do you use erank or similar to check the search volume before using them? I am worried my long tails might be too obscure so nobody will be searching for them 😂
Great question! I use the keyword research to focus on the "core" part of the keyword (the first 1-2 words) - most keyword research tools aren't ever going to give you good data on long tail phrases because of how specific they get. I use the "core" keywords to convert them into the long tail version, at which point I try to think like my targeted buyer and combine it with other keywords they might use. So for example, I might find good results for the niche keyword term "siamese cat", but then from there I might build a title that starts with the long tail phrases of "Siamese cat mom sweatshirt, funny shirt for Siamese cat mom birthday". I lead with my strongest keyword (in this case, Siamese cat, because that's why I have good data for), and then build from there. With Etsy's search algorithm, one of the ways it determines what to show a customer is based on how many of those keywords you are able to match with their search term. So in the above example, that listing would likely show up in search results for siamese cat, cat mom, birthday gift, cat sweatshirt, funny cat shirt, and so on. That's also why I like to combine the keywords I find with other terms like holidays and occasions, since it's more about how a target customer would be searching for something (and not necessarily describing what the item is itself). Always think like a buyer, and not a seller :) Hope that helps a bit! I talk about long tail keywords a little more in the first part of this video too, in case it's helpful: th-cam.com/video/JhWQZgglcsY/w-d-xo.html

I'm at a loss. I have done what's been suggested...researched, found a niche, made excellent mockups, used the research for tags and keywords...only 15 sales since June. While there are several other shops that have started doing similar items in just the past 2 to 3 months and are already selling several hundred. Ready to throw in the towel.
If a niche or design style isn’t performing well in your shop, pivot and try something different. A different niche, a different design approach, etc. Check out my recent videos on “no sales” and also “design like a top seller” for additional ideas 😊 Keep going! 💜
So helpful, and so glad I found you. So maybe you go over this ahead, but I’ve always heard you want to put your title keywords as your tags. If etsy likes long tail keywords, that won’t fit in the tags, is that ok?
Yes! If I have a long tail keyword that is too long for tags I break it up. So for example “retro floral nurse sweatshirt” would become “retro floral” and “nurse sweatshirt”. If separating keywords results in a single-word tag, make sure to add another relevant so that you’re using the space effectively- I frequently add “gift” to these (if it makes sense, of course) 😊

Unfortunately Barbie can’t be used anywhere in the listing. It can all get flagged by the trademark owner and put the shop at risk of being shut down.
I have a subscription for Merch Informer. Would that be as useful (or instead of) eRank, Everbee, EtsyHunt, etc?
Mandy, is there any danger in combining a General shop theme with a Professions shop theme?
