I’m glad we’re kinda repeating themes but with a different type. You wouldn’t expect them to do music again but then you realize that we can repeat themes as long as the characters and plot are different. I have a Classical Music precure fanseries so this is interesting to me.
I think the leaker was trying to suggest the designs had more of a vibe of the designs were more in line with the pre-Healing Good Precures, when they described them as having the "freshness of the Heisei era".
Honestly the protagonist could very well be red with pink accents or viceversa, which could explain why it shows pink in the website even if the main color is red… kind of like Nyammy who’s supposedly considered white by a few fans but is shown as blue instead (when she clearly has more white than blue)
Maybe leaker only saw some images and assumed main Cure was red, because it's more reddish pink or design uses both colors. And sometimes it depends on print quality or monitor that color is shown a bit different. I am fine with both red and pink.

Also Cure Nyammy's name comes from the "Nya" which know as "Meow" in Japanese and "Ammy" or "Amie" which is French for "Beloved" or "Friend" So her Cure name could mean "Cat Friend" or "Friendly Cat/Meow" or "Beloved Cat"

I think potential male precure might work as mid-season, considering mid-season design and narrative wise is more distinct from the core team. If Idol Precure emulate the case where there's occasional male idol units in several female centric band/idol franchises a mid-season male precure duo might be a fit. Watched Balala the Fairies, another magical girl franchise based in China. Balala is well known for having narrative relevant magical boys, with the latest lineup Star Fate having a mid season coded magical boy.
Honestly, I'm not mad that the starting trio are all girls. It'll be just like a traditional all-girl idol group. It'd be cool if the mid-season cures were a boy duo though. Yet again, and this may come out wrong but that would probably be a bit too gay for Toei's standards. I swear, Toei are such cowards for not making Satoru and Daifuku actual cures. They're cowards for not making any of their male supporting characters into cures. Cure Wing is the only male cure on an official team while Cure Infini isn't. Not to mention the supporting female characters that wither got robbed of the change of being a Cure by another character or just got snubbed. I know Regina finally got to become a Cure in the DokiDoki novel but she really should've been the actual mid-season Cure and not Ace. Sorry for going on a tangent but I have a lot of strong feelings about the choices people behind the franchise make.
I also assume that the Cure Heart influence is pertaining to just the designs, but it's hard to tell what that means in this context. Cure Heart's design isn't all that complex and is on the more simple side. Do they all look like Mana's kids? Is this how we get sibling Cures for once, the main trio are all a biproduct of her yuri harem? I'm obviously joking, of course.

The Blue Cure will be Cure Bright Light: (Cure Bright and something to do with stage lights)/ the light rays in the website.
