are there some known scholars in Nepal who are well versed in the regional politics between Nepal its own governance and with China and India? I would like to learn more. I also wonder if there are some explanations of why the political climate in Nepal is as unstable as it has been for few years. Do refer me to an analyst or scholar with knowledge in this field. If they also report on youtube via interviews that'd be great. If not, I'm still interested in names so I can search them and their work online. Personally I did find that both these people had nuanced fews. With some small hints of a bias, generally speaking they spoke eloquently on the situation. The host was very strong with her questions.

I'm Indian, and why can't Nepal have good relation with both India and China? Nepal is an independent country, let them decide what's best for them. Why it has to be either only India or only China and not both? Nepal is sandwich between two very big countries (India and China), it is important for them to have good relation with both its neighbours. Stop importing this US/West mentality of 'either you are with us or against us'. Taiwan should worry about themselves for becoming a US vassal, the next Ukraine in the making. Wake up Taiwan! US doesn't care about your independence, your democracy, your security.. To them you are just a small sacrificial pawn against China. Why is it so hard for you guys to understand this!! Talk to China instead of poking them with US, negotiate and maintain the status quo of 'One Country Two System' with China, otherwise disaster is waiting to happen...
I don't think it's western mentality of 'either you are with us or against us'. Yes it is true that the Western political leadership has this attitude (the people may have different beliefs), but the reason people are concerned between NPL-IND-CHI is because India and China are rivals. If Nepal becomes a closer ally to either one of them (India or China), the other one will feel it as a threat. A great example highlighted in this video is when the host asked about the Pokhara airport. Here they stated that India has been obstructing the fruitfulness of this airport, since it was built with Chinese grants and that means that Chinese airlines will want to use it as well. India does not want this. Either because they claim due to 'security concerns' (IND-CHI are on the verge of war on the Kashmir borders, they may fear that this war extends to Northeast India), or maybe because they don't want the Chinese economy to prosper any further. I do not know the real reasons. Even if they claim it is due to security reasons, I honestly don't think this is a valid claim. Yes, China could then make use of Pokhara airport to transport goods and people via the south of China, but I think China's initial focus is for economic reasons, not to start war. Anyway, to answer your question, this is not a western thing. The reason that there is this debate about 'either China or India' in relation to Nepal is because the two of them, India and China, are (not yet) at war with one another. Nepal is a buffer zone and blocks some of these potential threats of further war and fighting. Nepal's relation to both of them therefore can be strategically motivated by China or India. They may want to make use of Nepal's territory to invade the other for instance. This is why people are so focussed on Nepal's relation. However, I agree with you. In an ideal world, Nepal SHOULD be able to have a relationship with both. Which is what I think the Nepali are trying to do right now. But India(n media, check all the news outlets in India and how they're reporting Oli's visit to China) perceives it as a concern.
Sikkim was an Indian protectorate( foreign policy was Indian but every other policy was their own) and things were OK until the Crown Prince married an American lady who wanted to become fully independent- ie have an American listening post in an area which was critical for Indian security. India could not permit this. Bhutan , Nepal and Bangladesh 's nightmare is Sikkim... Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Kashmir etc had their nightmare come true.
What he saying Pokhara is not popular that’s wrong. Pokhara is most popular place in Nepal. India hasn’t approved international flights to fly over in their sky to Pokhara international airport just because it was built by Chinese loan .It is millions percent sure India doesn’t want Chinese influence in nepal so they can keep dominating Nepal under their control. As a Nepali citizens we want good neighborhood relationship with both countries.Having saying this of course Indian influence higher because of Culture, religion and geographic similarity.
and why Pokhra airport is under scruitiny of Neapli corruption agencies because of suspected corruption and irregularities...its already a burden and non performing asset and Oli wanted china to declare it's funds as grants but china refused...
Nepali people are our brothers but our government disrespected badly ! During earthquake India blocked food amd everything almost a year ! Shocking Even enemy tries people in desperate need helps. So india have more enemy around then friends.
India closed the border to protect the Madhesi people of Nepal from Nepali government forces. Nepali Police shot and k!leed several Nepali Madhesi people who were protesting against discrimination done to them in Nepali constitution and this protest is known as Madhes Andolon. In fact Nepali Madhes people were the one who sat on the border first and blocked entry points to Nepal. And, India had not other option but intervene. Compared to the current situation concerning Hindus in Bangladesh, the situation in Nepal was far more dangerous. Don't comment if you don't know the background.
These arm chair experts don't know even 1% of domestic politics of Nepal. So much fuss for a visit to China. I mean it's not new. Even way back during the 50s, the then King Mahendra was taken as "nuisance" because he was able to balance the ties between India, China, USA and Russia. So much so that the very foundation of infrastructure drive he laid, to this day remains the backbone of the nation. Nepal is doomed by geopolitical pressures. No clear majority, foreign players fund domestic parties to always go against each other.
I found host is far smarter than the Indian guy. Indian guy trying to hide India’s contribution to unsuccessful Nepal’s projects but host already show the real reason that is India. Great hosting keep it up.
@@aryandixit229 I believe people of Nepal don't they love India infact I've been there many times, it's a free nation they can decide. If you talk about others nothing new they used to do it all with china as well few years back.
As a Nepali, we do have lots of respect and love towards our indian neighbours in the south but not towards their government. Imagine this, you just came out of the once in a century earthquake event and not even 3 months have passed by, they imposed an illegal economic blockade. Although india denies it, it is simply impossible to block all 25+ checkpoints scross the border that spans for more than 1000+ kms without government intervention. Even indian businesses and truck deivers have said that indian police told them to stop at the border. Our bid for china's BRI and USA's MCC program should be seen as an alternative to indian dominance rather than a geopolitical realignment. Every nation deserves to have their interests secured.
First of all blocking borders is not an illegal things every country have rights to control their border, pakistan doesn't allow us to trade with central asia through their border so it's there choice but it's not illegal. And 2nd everyone knows the reason for blockadge it was because of madheshi community rights which has to be protected.
@kartikchawla007 India definitely. The indian plate(originally from Africa) keeps pushingthe asians plate creating higher heights of the Himalayas and earthquates.
@@nick-l4o2z they have a right to do whatever they want but it is their foolishness if they think that China really cares for them. Oli is a stooge of China. The previous PM Prachanda was neutral.
India's foreign policy towards its neighbors is very disrespectful. India always wants to subjugate its neighbors by any means. If you go and ask India's neighbours, you will find that they are not happy with the Modi and Jaya Shankar regime. But the irony is that Indian media and their think tanks think that Modi and Jaya Shankar are their pride.
As all of our neighbors are dependent on India so they need to be respectful towards India and refrain from threatening its security. If our neighbors economy is down , it is their problem and not our foreign policy problem. Our economy is fastest growing in the world and that is why Modi and Jai Shankar are our pride. We spend most of our time dealing with domestic issues because India is a very big and most populous country, with nearly all 28 states having populations larger than Nepal. If you want to grow with us, you need to be careful about our security concerns.
India is the only country has spends millions in charity for their neighbours every year in their budget meanwhile the same neighbours abuse Indians lol.
We are Happy with BRI 🇳🇵 But some political parties of Nepal who are agent of Indian Government and America doesn´t want BRI.... But their´s doubt in implementation due to our internal political instability.
Happy with BRI then why your Pokhra airport built and invested by Chineese state owned companies are declared as non performing asset and is under the scruitiny of Nepali corruption agencies because of involved corruption and irregularities... Oli begged China to declare funds for Pokhra airport as grants but China refused....BRI at full swing in Nepal and seems Nepali are themselves unaware about it ...Kathmandu Post is having tons of article on it but looks like your govt is busy in Polisihing china shoes and making people believe how good their new daddy is
India never wants progress in Nepal. Outwardly India says both India and Nepal should go hand in hand regarding development programs but inwardly India`s intention is always to make Nepal dependent on India.
To bhai decide krlo ki tumhe help cahiye, support cahiye ki 'independent' hona hai hr cheez me? Ho jao na independent, kisne roka hai? Jb land locked ho to kaha jaoge? What?India has neighbourhood first policy. India built electricity generation capability in nepal so that they will have something to export. Bharat recently let nepal sell that electricity to bangladesh through india. India has also aided in infrastructure development in Nepal.
Bro , India has played a significant role in supporting Nepal’s economic development through investments, grants, and collaborative projects. Here are some key highlights: 1. Direct Investments: Indian private and public sectors have heavily invested in Nepal’s banking, insurance, telecom, energy, and manufacturing sectors. India accounts for about two-thirds of Nepal's trade and has facilitated infrastructure and industrial development in the country. 2. Grant Assistance and Infrastructure Projects: India has financed over 551 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) in Nepal, costing approximately NPR 1249 crore. These projects focus on education, healthcare, rural electrification, and road construction. Additionally, India has supported the construction of schools, hospitals, and trauma centers. 3. Hydropower and Energy: India is a key partner in Nepal’s hydropower sector, helping develop infrastructure and purchasing electricity. India has committed to buying 10,000 MW of power from Nepal over the next decade. Significant projects like the Arun-3 hydropower plant have been completed under India’s line of credit programs. 4. Post-Earthquake Reconstruction: India pledged $1 billion for Nepal’s recovery after the 2015 earthquake, which included grants and concessional loans. This funding supported housing, schools, and healthcare facilities reconstruction. 5. Lines of Credit: India has provided $1.65 billion in concessional credit to Nepal for large infrastructure projects, including roads and transmission lines. Overall, these investments and partnerships signify India’s substantial contribution to Nepal’s economic development and regional connectivity.
I beg to differ with Indian assistant director's statement because there are many tribes in Nepal and not only Indo Aryan descendants who shares culture and religion with Indians. Many tribes like us who are Mongoloid race have nothing in common with Indians. Majority of us are Buddhists not Hindus. China and Nepal friendship is as ancient as India. The issue here is with India not Nepal about China and Nepal friendship. Most of the problems for Nepal in the past came from south of the border India not China. The history speaks for itself. PS, Most Nepali people do not trust any of our government, It does not matter which party they represent because they are all same and they are the reason why Nepal has been pushed below poverty level.
US has thought off special solution to Nepal.....Christian conversion and fuelling Civil War along racial lines, a faultline that is totally a novel creation of West.
@14:37 What a lie? Pokhara not popular? It is the tourism hub and destination (apart from the Everest expedition). What about Air entry route permission being denied by India ? What about direct flights to and from Indian cities to Pokhara being denied by India ?Indian Tourists would rather directly go to Pokhara but no...
@@ravibasera1 Why does India take loan/involve Chinese construction companies for their own mega projects? So much for "influence". Ok forget direct flights to Pokhara, but what about air entry route permissions, which have been lingering for decades. And there is question why Nepal government tilts towards China or US for that matter. But for the time being there is no adverse effect to India so there is an upper hand. (Whispers of Nepali airport management and a new Intl airport construction being construted under a powerful Indian Business conglomerate coming out. Any guesses? )
@MoneyMaker-pu1rj giving airspace is also a sustainability parameter, afterall 99 percent of flights to be handled by Pokhra airpot will be through Indian airspace as only one flight goes through Tibettan plateau. Chinese airlines also flies to Bejing not through Tibettan plateau, but only one Lhasa flight in China crosses Tibettan plateau. And who are you to decide security concern of our airspace. As Nepal decides its route to Kailash Mansarovar not India, we have our own arrangement through Lipulekh that neo Nationalists of Nepal are claiming Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura. The bone of contention is the origin of Mahakali river. Nepal claimns Kuti Yangti river as origin but India claims the origin to be Kalapani. I belong to Pithoragarh district and fairly before Gorkha invasion even Doti and sudur Paschimanchal was part of Kumaon, under Baise Raja Sangh. Gorkha occupation of Kumaon was an event lasting for only 25 years and Garhwal occupation lasted for only 15 years. K P Oli is also originally a Kumaoni Brahman, just like Deupa a Kumaoni Thakuri. So dont spout jingoism to ones who know real history of Gorkha imperial expanisonism/colonialism. Nepal's unification is colonial empire building, we had our own soverign kingdom before military expansion of Gorkha for thousands of years, even before the creation of Nepal.

Historically, Nepal has balanced the relationship between India and China successfully. Although, it is very hard to keep up this balance, particularly between two giant nations who have been fighting each other for many decades. However, Nepa has not been successful in yielding the proper outcomes from these two giant wannabe world-leaders. Bascially, both India and Chin have been much selfish with Nepal when it comes for maintaining fair bilateral relations
This narrative that Nepal should only have good relation with India and not China is absurd. Does India not have a good relation with Russia and America? Every time a journalist asks lndian leaders why India does not criticise Russia for Ukraine invasion and why they buy oil from Russia, Indian government gives very cunning answer. Why cna Nepal not do the same and stay neutral?!
Nepal is an independent and a sovereign nation. It has full right to choose a path that leads to country’s development. Unlike, India , Russia ties and oil deal, Nepal never raises any questions or concerns. A country may be different in size, doesn’t mean less important. Period
I like the fact you put the disputed area on the map. KP Oli is a very savvy politician who is great at staying in power. So he's equally at ease praising China's development and completely allowing Indian industrialists to control the economy. As long as it brings money to his UML party, he doesn't care where it comes from. Corruption, bribery, cooperative bank savings gutted by political cadres, the Himalayas destroyed by bulldozers, and most recently he accepted 8 ropani land from a supermarket owner who was investigated by the CIB team of the Nepal Police for selling off parts of the Prime Minister's quarters. He was going to use this land to build the UML headquarters. He's under heavy internal criticism so he needs some big splash to draw attention away from internal problems. It sounds like they're trying to export Indian cattle (buffalo, etc) via Nepal to China. The good thing about this is that if it went through, this would end the deforestation in Brazil. The hydrodam fights: China building biggest dam in Tibet, with India aggressively in pursuit, turns out to be a fight covertly triggered by the CIA. So I assume American Big Asset comoanies are heavily pushing cement and hydrodams. It's Wall Street, not Evil China or Evil India. I think the two cojntries just sobered up over Arunchal Pradesh after realizing this.
1. Nepal's China shift definitely makes India feeling very uncomfortable. People should not forget the disappearance of SIKKIM which is now under India's control . 2. Nepal government should be highly vigilant so as to counteract the external power's attempt to topple its current governance.
@ashwinrai1616 Tibet was part of china before british took over. So china took it back. Same with Manchuria and Taiwan, which was taken over by Japanese. It is in the UN's map that Tibet is part of china. The same as South tibet which appears in the UN's map as china, but india is illegally occupying as arunachal pradesh. You take UN's map which India is a signatory and Then you take India's map and check out the illegal occupier.
@@biggpicture2930 Tibet being China's part? What stuff you veen smoking... Tibet was never under the direct rule under China... Although the Chinese influence was present there still it was an independent country ruled by their religious head...
@@biggpicture2930 And what UN map you talking about? There is no map in un which shows Arunachal Pradesh... The only areas UN shows disputed are the Kashmir Region of POK and COK of Akshai Chin (Which China took over in 1962 war)
Being a Nepali, it is important to acknowledge that India is a great nation and has been a significant partner for Nepal. As a neighboring country, China is equally important and holds immense potential for collaboration. Historically, it is notable that many of Nepal’s Prime Ministers have not prioritized visiting China, which reflects a lack of balance in our foreign policy approach. However, it is imperative that Nepal fosters and strengthens its relationship with China as well. Had this approach been adopted earlier, Nepal could have achieved a balanced and strategic relationship with both neighbors, maintaining a 50/50 equilibrium. Such balance is crucial for ensuring Nepal’s sovereignty, economic development, and regional stability.
Why do people of India worry so much about their neighboring countries. Being an Indian I would like to tell my Indian people to stop worrying about them they are nothing to us. No one is our friend. Think only about yourself and your country. If you think they will fall into China's debt trap, that will be their problem. You just enjoy it. We just need to be strong within ourselves.
China has given Nepal a good lollypop. Oli visited China with hopes of getting grants but China made him to sign ambigous deals which mentions aid instead of grants... he is already criticized by opposition for this in Nepali parliament. Pokhra airport is greatest example of great chineese investment built by Chineese state owned companies ...now declared as non performing asset ...Pokhra airport is already under scruitiny of Nepali corruption agencies for suspected corruption and irregularities... Nepal has begged china to declared funds for Pokhra airport as grant but china has clearly said no...perhaps for showing true friendship of china. Nepal will probably go Maldives and Sri lanka way...how Muizzu turned from quit India to ally India and came running to India for clicking photos with Modi and giving him access to 7 Islands...Nepal is going to turn its begging bowl towards India and New Delhi knows when to play its cards
Nightmares will destroy life. Lollipop is only a treat that is not essential to life. Bhutan , Nepal and Bangladesh 's nightmare is Sikkim... Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Kashmir etc had their nightmare come true.
India broker a deal for Nepal two year ago MCC which gave 700 million for Infrastructure. they rejected it. Nepal has all rights to take their own decision but just remember Friendship with USA has a cost and Friendship with China has higher cost ...as they never bear anyone's expenses...eg: Tanzani has sold off its entire coastline to China for 30 years.
Nepal is not good friend of china it's communist party of Nepal that is friend with china, and every communist regime except china has destroyed their country
I am from Nepal, and I can tell you that relationship between India and Nepal have not been good all these past few years. Nepali slowly destroying themselves from India and moving closer to China because India has done very terrible things to Nepal over the past few year’s for example, India blocked aid to Nepal after the earthquake, the block valuable resources that Nepal desperately needed and there’s also the border dispute with India
Kishore Mahbubani said, every country that uses common sense will cooperate with countries that bring benefits. There is no point in siding with one bloc and being hostile to another bloc, if there is no benefit. India is very unfriendly to Nepal, while China is friendly to Nepal. It makes sense that Nepal has good relations with China.
Some facts i want say : 1) india china recently made border disengagment agreement so its not like we are enemies 2) bangladesh which is out of the topic i see some bangaldeshi comments here so for them your yunus support USA and biden democratic party so forget about china and also your half citizen like japan while half like china and if you know china japan then can understand what i m saying 3) bangladesh is not a big player like india as india represent global south in most places so they can maintain neutrality for a long time but not bangladesh as their hassina government was pro china 4) and about nepal its good they are focusing on their country growth and as an india i accept choosing india over china is profitable for them and it doesnt affect us unless theres some border issues
In the past when India has good connection with Western unit "YES" but now is "NO" totally different India doesn't care because India just needs road connectivity through Nepal at the moment in the recent days since India is closure to Risia India bought lots of oil from Rusia even Rusia was in war getting more richer economically because of India. Indian leaders they know that the together with China and India much better off.
Engaging in discussions about Nepal without including a representative from the country is both unproductive and fails to capture meaningful insights.😄
India's foreign policy towards Nepal is aggressively subjugating. How can we forget 2015 blockade imposed by our so called friendliest neighbor India just because Nepal's Constitution was not in align to India's demand, That they wanted Nepal's constitution their way. How ironic, the biggest democracy wants to meddle and manipulate in someone else's democratically found constitution and that also when Nepal was suffering from a Massive 2015 earthquake. Not appreciating Nepal's decision is one thing but exploiting while vulnerable, while in desperation, was the last straw that India shouldn't had broken. Not only that, India's been encroaching Nepali lands and rivers openly and blatantly. Look at India's diplomatic relation with other neighboring nations as well, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Maldives, Sri lanka. They've got problems with each and every nation that are been mentioned. So it's not "US" problem, it's "YOU" problem.
Lol … India changed its foreign policy It’s not about just defense … India focused on offensive strategy against china … India has enough army & population to defend its territory If china captures nepal … India doesn’t care… India cares about bhutan because of chicken neck … bhutan people are very humble too 😊
It's simple..we Nepalese wants our projects get completed in time effectively..India has a history of holding over our resources like rivers and other without any significant work done. Now it's china who is actually a global leader in almost all sector to Collab with..no if and but..and China has potential to get things done unlike India....and what's wrong with military base in Nepal..Chinese policy is straight forward. Involving in developmental projects as it's population is capable than any other nation to do that..any Nepali who understand politics will not like Indian policy towards Nepal ..not even single one..
We are the ones who gives project to India and taking about china they have also hold many projects for long time and if Chinese are so much interest in Nepal what's the reason should be a question to us as nepali Nepal should choose what's best for Nepal and should not lean towards any national either china or India
Some of Indians friends needs to get ride of a lingering psychological anxiety or trauma stemming from the experience of British colonial rule in India, even after 77 years of independence. China already a developed country and Prosperous Nepal and India side by side is only solution for regional stability. Buffered nation Nepal helping India saving billions not to worry in defense budget in 1751 Km of boarders.
Well done Nepal! I feel sad ti break away from india but hey China is the superpower now ! Not the USA . We Indians don’t realise it’s happened without knowing us ! China thinks 100 years ahead usa and we can’t even think 5 years ahead ! But since modi we have achieved a lot and we must learn from China instead of being hostile.
Nepal is a sovereign country and is looking after its own interests. Nepal’s sovereignty is further reinforced by its own government, constitution, and political system, as well as its international relationships and treaties, such as the friendship treaties with India and China. India with its hegemonic attitude has cast China and Nepal cooperation in a negative light. India do not see Nepal as an independent sovereign country as India regards Nepal and South Asia as its domains and sphere of influence and will not accept any competition from another country. India is not able to offer good economic solutions to its neighbors and are always hinders South Asian countries' cooperative ties with China. Other South Asian countries have developed sound relations with China as China advocates equal cooperation and mutual benefits. It is a mutual beneficial situation for Nepal, China and South Asian countries in joint development and economic cooperation with one another.
Bro india is like that they treat small neighbours like vessel states they will take from u eveything but will not give nothing.increase ur military might it is necessary so that no country will try to fear u
Its neighbour's poverty is India's problem? Any country can choose to do whatever they wish. However Koli is highly influenced by chineese agenda. Nepal still hasn't learned that communism doesn't work. And they say its India's duty to give them solutions? How many people in Nepal have matrimonial alliances with Indian people and how many with Chinese people? It was Nepal that allowed extremists to infiltrate India . The Indian plane that was hijacked flew from Nepal and the hijackers boarded from Nepal. Fake currency networks printing indian currency in Nepal. China has occupied Nepalese land and Nepal is ok with that. If the success of a Nepalese airport depends on India allowing its use of airspace then they should clearly understand which side to align with.
Geography cally in favor of Nepal India is good position but India blocked any time as they want still China is not this position geography with Nepal but Chinas science and technology makes everything easy .so that Nepal will be get success in his technology.
Inspired by this conversation, the behavior of China under the CCP reminds me of Aisin Gioro Pu Yi 's description of the Empress Dowager Tze Xi : Driven by an insatiable hunger for power, "indeed it seemed as if once she had set her mind on getting a hold on something, she was unable to ever let go of it again." After all, the new Nepalese government are Maoists, correct? So the price for their winning over the monarchy would logically be the creation of a new Autonomous Province of Nepal as part of the PRC, getting a New Han-Chinese name, settler-colonialism, happy dancing Nepalese natives, freed from feudal tyranny etc. ...
There is a classical example of Sri Lanka and Maldives of how they go against India and when they are trapped in China net they crawling on the hand and come to India for help , so India don't need to worry about anything, and we Indians also know Nepal will not do anything wrong which hurt India ,are our brothers.
The Nepalese people have a right to self determination and prosperity. It's obvious that their relationship with India hasn't been successful and it's only logical that they would seek other partnerships that'll be of benefit to their development. China has risen from a poor and poverty stricken country to what she is now, making her a more suitable partner than India.
Nepal needs PRC's money ( grant and soft loan), technogy and investment. PRC is next superpower. India's undue influence is too much and it is paying price by inviting more china's role in nepal.

We immigrated 5 million Indians to southern Tibet and 600 million Indians to other areas People, India will also occupy Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the United States in the future, because we have too many children in India. In the future, India's population will exceed 5 billion. Most of them can only become beggars, but that doesn't matter. Beggars were sent to the border.
Nepali here, as an Independent nation, we would like to maintain same level of relationship with both nations although our majority of activities and relationships will always be pro Indian by the laws of nature and we feel China also respects that. Considering the growth of two neighbours, Nepal should take both sides together and benefit from both sides.
Why does the indian analyst sound like he just watched 30 minutes of Godi media (Indian media subservient to Modi) to prepare for the show. He knows nothing, and has no depth of knowledge. If u talk about distancing Nepal from India, the blocade imposed by India on earthquake-wrecked Nepal in 2015 is the point of origin, and cannot be missed. Indian hegemony is the reason why all its neighbors are distancing them from India. By the way, Prime minister KP oli has very good relationship with the USA too, and he played significant role to get American project MCC approved in Nepal.
So India can maintain balance relation with Russia and USA and Nepal can't maintain relation with both India and China. Just see their Hypocrisy level .
Why is everyone loosing their shit all of sudden? Nobody cared to talk about Nepal before but now I see these news popping up everywhere. Does this just reflect how powerful China is that their small move can have a big ripple effect?
That indian couldn't defend his country on why india is right and nepal is wrong. Every thing he was saying are just a lie and baseless. If india has a proof on kalapani-limpiyadhura then why don't they just sit and talk with nepal? Their foreign minister said nothing will change in a ground will not prove their claim in our territory. Infact They don't have any proofs to claim our territory otherwise wouldn't they show the world, if not to us why these territory belongs to india? I can't say about others but in case of Nepal, india is in a wrong side. They have always handled nepal inappropriately. They have captured our rivers. They have captured our territories. They have captured our market's. Our market is theirs but their market is not ours. And still they behave like as if India provides everything for free and only then Nepal gets to eat!!!!! Yes, K.P. oli was the prime minister when the new map came into existence, but it was a parliament who passed the bill with almost a 100% support, so blaming k.p oli will not prove he did it with chinese influence matter infact it was india who included disputed land into their new map in 2020 and only after that nepal reacted.and about remittance claim there is enough data available in the Internet to verify your false claim 😉
Long story short, India invaded China in 1962 by also having to go across parts of nepal, but subsequently stayed on nepal land after the failing in its mission. Nepal was tricked by India. A land win over nepal without violence- Nehru, the genius strategic scammer..
As far as encroachment is concern both are 'land grabber' in the eyes of general Nepali people. India has encroached whole Nepali part of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiadhura. There is problem in Susta area also.
Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiadhura are included by Nepal in Un's map. Those areas were occupied by Indian Army after 1962's Indo China War. Every history student knows th8s fact. Therefore, India should accept the truth. No 'Singha Mewa Jayate, but Satya Mewa Jayate'.
@guraasfulecha167 So in the sino indian war, India lost the war but subsequently gained more land Incredible, for India to claim China was the aggressor!
@guraasfulecha167 Long story short, India invaded China in 1962 by also having to go across parts of nepal, but subsequently stayed on nepal land after the failed invasion. Nepal was scammed by India. A land win over nepal without violence- Nehru, the genius strategic general.

It depends on Prime minister...PM Oli has tiff with indian leaders...if it was someone else they would have surely visited India first...we Nepalese still have a brotherly ties with India it's just stupid politics from both side
We respect both giants(Ancient Civilisation). Both Giants should admire one other's progress and prosperity for the sake of oneself and other tiny countries around.

funny because chiang kai shek was angry at mao for not invading india further kek, mao wanted good relationships with nehru later so he took back the invasion, meanwhile chiang said that he wanted kmt troops in new delhi if they would not give back south tibet
This is a very very weak point by the Indian guy.. yes we accept both the countries as good neighbour and as the present situation of Nepal it was a very good move... We as a Nepalese citizens accept it positively and about power balance between the two countries it's ur headache to adjust.. u can't just impose burden and impact on the development of a country like Nepal.
14:47 since Pokhara airport was build using Chinese loan making this a reason India has not given direct air route to Nepal from Pokhara airport .due to which plane have to go through Kathmandu route and it is not cost efficient for planes in terms of fuel so plane company doesn't want to take flight from there and that's the main reason why Pokhara airport failed and it's similar for lumbin airport to .

Both China and India will have to figure out how to settle the border dispute together. It is an inherited problem that they both now own. It is a dispute that is still being leveraged by the West to divide and weaken both countries. The current hegemonic world order wants to hobble the 2 rising Asian giant economic powers to preserve status quo. Dividing and conquering is how the West subdued and pillaged India and China over the past 2-3 centuries.
Well, what a letdown shallow thinking. If India is the real expansionist, this so-called Nepal won't be a country but a part of India, Bangladesh won't be a country but a part of India after India liberated it from Pakistan. Sri Lanka won't be a country but a part of India. I'll guess that you know about LTTE. It wages a war against the government of Sri Lanka, and it was formed by the Tamils. So, India could back up the LTTE and make Sri Lanka a part of India, but instead, India sided with the Sri Lankan government and even sent its troops to eliminate the threat posed by LTTE. India was just piecing together its part that makes India a whole. If you called India as the expansionist and siding with China, then how about China?! I'll assume that you take China as a righteous, virtuous, innocent entity. It took Tibet by force, claims Taiwan a part of it, and will use force to claim Taiwan. Its claims in South China sea sparking disputes with multiple countries. It's using the Salami slice to gain parts of India. But to you, China ain't not an expansionist. Think and say whatever you want about India, it doesn't matter because the truth about who really is an expansionist among India and China is right in front of everyone and don't forget China's debt trap😉 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nepal and India will always have a deeper cuultural and geographical bond no matter the circumstances or government... politics and business policies are different and may change accordingly
I am indian nepal is not ally it can be friends of any country. Yes india have reason to hate china but But nepal is our friend means nepal also have reason to make friend.
Nepal country is located between China and India so in order to keep good relationship between this two big country . This two nation is friend with Nepal from long time . If we look back Nepal , China and India relationship history then people all around the world will take it as a friendly visit for Nepal economy development . We should not see this as a political , diplomat or war side we need to see this as a friendly side only .
24:56 and one of the biggest weapon is economic blockade. These are facts in History, whatever might be the reasons but economic blockade to landlocked country stopping trucks carrying medicine, food and fuel is inhuman, this should NOT be repeated. 1. First Indian Economic blockade of Nepal in 1962 Sept by Nehru. 2. Second Indian Economic blockade in 1971 by Indira Gandhi govt. 3. Third Indian Economic Blockade in 1989 by Rajiv Gandhi. 4. Fourth Indian Blockade in 2015 by Modi government while Nepal was suffering with massive earthquake.
Taiwan scholars should come to Nepal and research on the issue. They will find the difference between India and China. Nepal and India shares so many similar things. They have cultural proximity but India is a 'sucking' neighbour or 'bade bhai' of Nepal. Actually Indian has habit of fighting with their bhai. Sometime in the history China was their 'Bhai'. They fought with their bhai. NOW, they are 'Bade Bhaiya' (an elder brother) of Nepal, and they sucks. 😂😂
It is utterly useless to talk about any agreement between any other county without directly engaging the experts of that county. Panelist from india has no right or authenticity to talk about others issue . They are obsessed with china . Nepal has its own path of growth.

However, the host looks quite neutral and prepared (y)
are there some known scholars in Nepal who are well versed in the regional politics between Nepal its own governance and with China and India?

Lol they are asking India to buy the debt ridden projects created by china.nepalese don't know to run the country.
Chines bot spotted!

India closed the border to protect the Madhesi people of Nepal from Nepali government forces. Nepali Police shot and k!leed several Nepali Madhesi people who were protesting against discrimination done to them in Nepali constitution and this protest is known as Madhes Andolon.
And 2nd everyone knows the reason for blockadge it was because of madheshi community rights which has to be protected.
who contributed the biggest earthquake aid to Nepal? India or China?

What?India has neighbourhood first policy. India built electricity generation capability in nepal so that they will have something to export. Bharat recently let nepal sell that electricity to bangladesh through india. India has also aided in infrastructure development in Nepal.
Bro , India has played a significant role in supporting Nepal’s economic development through investments, grants, and collaborative projects. Here are some key highlights:
PS,
Most Nepali people do not trust any of our government, It does not matter which party they represent because they are all same and they are the reason why Nepal has been pushed below poverty level.

Chinese airlines also flies to Bejing not through Tibettan plateau, but only one Lhasa flight in China crosses Tibettan plateau.

As Nepal decides its route to Kailash Mansarovar not India, we have our own arrangement through Lipulekh that neo Nationalists of Nepal are claiming Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura.
Period

China is Nepal good friend
Nepal is not good friend of china it's communist party of Nepal that is friend with china, and every communist regime except china has destroyed their country
I am from Nepal, and I can tell you that relationship between India and Nepal have not been good all these past few years. Nepali slowly destroying themselves from India and moving closer to China because India has done very terrible things to Nepal over the past few year’s for example, India blocked aid to Nepal after the earthquake, the block valuable resources that Nepal desperately needed and there’s also the border dispute with India
Good for Nepal
Kishore Mahbubani said, every country that uses common sense will cooperate with countries that bring benefits.
There is no point in siding with one bloc and being hostile to another bloc, if there is no benefit.
India is very unfriendly to Nepal, while China is friendly to Nepal. It makes sense that Nepal has good relations with China.
Some facts i want say :
1) india china recently made border disengagment agreement so its not like we are enemies
2) bangladesh which is out of the topic i see some bangaldeshi comments here so for them your yunus support USA and biden democratic party so forget about china and also your half citizen like japan while half like china and if you know china japan then can understand what i m saying
3) bangladesh is not a big player like india as india represent global south in most places so they can maintain neutrality for a long time but not bangladesh as their hassina government was pro china
4) and about nepal its good they are focusing on their country growth and as an india i accept choosing india over china is profitable for them and it doesnt affect us unless theres some border issues
Historically both india and china had a very good relations

Well, u are selling electricity generated from hydro power made using Aid from "Bharat" to Bangladesh through "Bharat".
Inspired by this conversation, the behavior of China under the CCP reminds me of Aisin Gioro Pu Yi 's description of the Empress Dowager Tze Xi : Driven by an insatiable hunger for power, "indeed it seemed as if once she had set her mind on getting a hold on something, she was unable to ever let go of it again."
After all, the new Nepalese government are Maoists, correct? So the price for their winning over the monarchy would logically be the creation of a new Autonomous Province of Nepal as part of the PRC, getting a New Han-Chinese name, settler-colonialism, happy dancing Nepalese natives, freed from feudal tyranny etc. ...
There is a classical example of Sri Lanka and Maldives of how they go against India and when they are trapped in China net they crawling on the hand and come to India for help , so India don't need to worry about anything, and we Indians also know Nepal will not do anything wrong which hurt India ,are our brothers.
Cry cry cry cry cry …so much cry from Indian side
What sorry stories to hear from the indian perspective. Indians are clearly loosing by a big margin in Nepal.
What a rubbish interview… manipulated and misleading
Actually India try to make Nepal a new state of india.

As an Indian, I admit that India invaded Sikkim, Kashmir, Manipur, Northeastern states, Ladakh, and southern Tibet...
We are your friend and not small brother! That's it.
So India can maintain balance relation with Russia and USA and Nepal can't maintain relation with both India and China. Just see their Hypocrisy level .
Why is everyone loosing their shit all of sudden? Nobody cared to talk about Nepal before but now I see these news popping up everywhere. Does this just reflect how powerful China is that their small move can have a big ripple effect?
well done Nepal.
That indian couldn't defend his country on why india is right and nepal is wrong. Every thing he was saying are just a lie and baseless. It is a dispute that is still being leveraged by the West to divide and weaken both countries.
