"How to Mount & Balance a Camera" video by Hohem from over a year ago mentions that the first step for balancing is lens pointing UP BTW your setup has cables that are too long and because they are non static loads (their weight remains the same but the forces applied over the phone change with movement) they mess the balancing. You can get away with that on some heavier cameras but a phone is too light to maintain proper balancing
It works fine for me. i have used it on my trail walks. Manufacturer did replace the unit as it was defective. Also the unit comes with the mount for a cell. It does well.
I tried by best. Sorry. I don't do how to videos. I just did this one because I was balancing forward first. Which is wrong. Release the clamps that hold the rails and slide until it is balanced and then lock the rail. Do that for all three rails. Hope this helps?
