Brandon Semenuk is an absolutely amazing rider, arguably one of the best riders in the world-on any bike. Brandon's roots in BMX were not as deep as I assumed they were, but his love for it is pretty easy to see. So sit back and enjoy two hours of insight into the other side of the freestyle bicycle riding...

In short, we are the Ride BMX staff out on our own. We're building from the ground up and our goal is pretty simple. We want to continue what we love. We want to create great content, feature awesome riders, and contribute, push, and show why we love BMX. We are starting a pump track series in New Zealand 🇳🇿 for skaters, BMX and mountain bikes, so I think that pump track racing series is a good way for all riders to compete together in relative harmony and increasing the stoke for pump track and action sports while still racing. The series also includes a freestyle trick component. New pump tracks are multi purpose🇳🇿🎉🚂🍻

Great work with the podcast, was really interesting to get a bit of an insight into all these things. I guess there are many misconceptions around that he just debunked in those two hours. Just e.g. that the companies pay all the stuff for the edits and the athlete gets so much money from it or the whole rally thing, where i honestly was like: "yeah, another one that just got it for his name like Travis..." but he definitely debunked that for sure. I guess also many of those things you don't get in touch with here in europe. e.g. rally, the only topic that gets to be a talking point is WRC.

Yeah definitely the true core guys no matter the sport get hyped on any other sport pushing the level...example; I’m a skateboarder/ snowboarder/ wakeboarder/ mtn biker/ bmx . It all gets me hyped and love it all. Much love guys great podcast!!!!

I ain’t a quitter, just been super busy. New episode will drop in a week or two and we’ll be filming more soon.
That’s the wackest stuff about the MTB industry is all of the proprietary parts and weird standards that vary. Just like the derailleur hangers and stuff that Brandon was talking about. Certain parts are on back order as well so if I were to break my hanger, I couldn’t get one for months! They don’t necessarily make them ‘hard’ to work on… but they have proprietary parts that require specialty tools and they have hydraulic brake systems and stuff that your average bike rider just doesn’t know how to work on just like their automobile.
I grew up riding BMX my entire life and I swore that I would Never be caught dead on a MTB…. But you got to understand, that was in the 90s and the bikes were absolute shit at best… these modern day rigs are like pedal powered Dirt bikes and you can go big as fuck and just bomb down shit like it’s not even there. I gotta tell ya, it’s a Rush! You should give it a whirl. It makes you a better person on And off the bike in the sense that you get killer exercise and then you find yourself eating better and making more health conscious decisions because you know it will affect your riding. Plus if you ride BMX, it pretty much makes you a better MTB rider by default compared to someone who didn’t ride bmx. Same goes for BMX, because I ride MTB, I am also much better at BMX because of it. It all coincides.
Bikes are bikes and all bikes are fun. You should try MTB Fudger. It’s so much fun.
I am not sure I will ever understand why guys like Tom Brady are more famous as athletes than Brandon Semenuk or Kilian Jornet.

Thanks for making this guys! I love to see the hybrid dynamic between 20'' and 26''! Biking will just keep on evolving into tons of different species, think of all the different types of bikes in 350 years from now? Maybe we'll be riding bikes on other planets by that point. Peace :)

Call in Dylan Stark and Brandon Seminuk together! Seminuk gave Dylan his first downhill bike and Dylan rides for YT with Cam Zink and Dylan kills it! He's totally under rated and is a testament to what the old heads of BMX do... Hold people down and back. Like inn this show fudger essentially says MTB talk needs to be a separate channel because BMX kids are BMX kids... You can also tell hope close minded some old heads are by what they say in the show. Dennis is totally bridging the Gap and I love it! BMX could be so much more of the old heads took their thumb off of everyone and let the sport grow and evolve. If you're really good but not in the "inner circle" who gives a fuck let them shine!
But seriously get Dylan Stark and Seminuk on together that'd be so good. And or Sammy the sick trail builder/rider and Dylan Stark...
As you can tell, I know next to nothing about mtb and, speaking bluntly, I don’t really find it all that interesting. Brandon is an amazing rider and person and I was honored to have him on the podcast, but don’t misconstrue his interview as the show diverging from BMX. I want the podcast to have its own channel for several reasons, the least of which is so we can talk less about bmx.
That said, I’m down to have Dylan on the show of course. My response wasn’t about him directly.
