He didn’t have to wear a backpack. He did that for us.
Bro you made me burst out laughing it's 3am I got roommates
I scrolled down looking for someone to notice. Well done, sir
He did it for the culture
Same outfit in THPS 1+2..either just got done shooting or teased the fit
He's a played out gimmick
The fact he’s wearing the backpack completes it, lol.
Southern Pimp didn’t even think about taking it off

He looks exactly like he did in Tony Hawk 2
Classic Muska!
@@krebtonesdottv3068 exactly
one of my best skate memories was this dude. he stopped at the SMALLEST skateshop in connecticut called axis boardsports in brookfield. i was maybe 15 and he jumps out of a gold tahoe (this was during the chadilac muskalade era) boom box on his shoulder. rolls up nose slides the ledge. hits the quarter pipe rolls back and 3 flips the flat on a pyramid. like fresh out of the car late as heck in the tahoe for probably 10 hours to get to this spot which MAYBE had 10 of us there. this dude is a legend
Did he shout you out first ? 'This ones for tommy!!'. 😀

Kids nowadays don't get it. It was different back in the day when there wasn't just media available at all times to see the latest whatever about whoever. You had to go months without knowing what was going down.

This episode epitomizes why I love The Nine Club.
Muska starts out unsure and apologizing for telling his own story. Then you guys reassure him and keep reassuring him and he just relaxes and it all flows.
He’s a classic ADHD person; I had no idea how intelligent and insightful he is. He’s obviously spent his entire career with people trying to force him into following their neurotypical Q&A patterns, which means he gets tense and sounds scattered and ditzy.
You guys just let him be him and that was amazing.
So much love for The Nine Club. Can’t wait for him to be back in 2029 ❤️😁
this isnt an interview; this is a love story.
chad muska is skateboarding.
He is definitely the physical embodiment of a skate rat that achieved the ultimate dream of any skateboarder. Like the Buddha of skating.
@@BigSirZebras I was thinking the same. He says he doesn't claim or try to be a guru, but to me and so many others he kind of is a guru.
This comment is so underrated 🛹❤👊
Chaz Michael Michaels is figure skating ! Boom
u just wanted to insert an epigram that sounded insightful...this has no substance, stop thumbs upping this. chad muska is not skateboarding...he has more interests than just sk8ng. chad muska is chad muska; no matter what the endeavor, hes bringing muska-consciousness. you hxcxor are a trash writer of false epigrams, and so far you have deceived almost 200 ppl that we know of. i only used a semi colon to mock you...your shallowness and attempt at seeming clever
'Anybody on a skateboard that loves it is a skater'. Chad Muska, 2019. I love this show but this is gotta be my favorite ep. ever! Proper rad!!
When does he say this
@@joeyquinlan2274 around half way through I think, i can't give you the exact time thing, I don't do that, but he said it, or words to that effect, and I thought that alone was awesome, but coming from one of the skaters who I always looked up to, was proper fuck off rad. I am an artist, who loves to skate, and much stronger as an artist than as a skater, but I feel the same way about art, ability is great and all but the love of it is the very essence of what it is, and why it's important to do it, and anybody who makes art has the right to call themselves an artist. In skating, as in the art world, there is a lot of elitist nonsense, and like Muska I think the vital thing is to participate, create and love it for its own sake. That is what I think 'core' is.

Definitely the best era in skateboarding. 411s, strength magazine.. thps... No internet, unless the rents had money
Yep
Swear I've watched this a good handful of times and shed a tear everytime i always knew i loved Muska for a reason
Muskal was never an elitist skater. He was a skater for the people and thrived for the connections he would make all over the map. Big ups on this episode. The G.O.A.T.
That moment with Bam really shows theBIG love and respect Muska has for the hommies.
You know the Muska got your back.

How cool is it that Bam and Muska were just chillin at the Nine Club.

Gotta love Muska's love for others and life in general!
when was he talkin to bam
52:30
Even at the end when Chris asks Muska when he's going to come to the show again and he says "whenever Bam is back here".
Muska has a big heart but bam really is a prick of a person. He acted like an asshole since a teen. Guess that’s what happens when you have parents you know are walkovers.
Bam needs to head to Rehab and then just have The Muska with him for a few months that would pull him the fuck outta whatever darkness he’s going thru! Muska is hella positive
he never took the backpack off the absolute madman
He never does. Not even for crooked grinds down rails at demos while carrying a boombox.
Yeah he was so good in his time
He showers with it too
He broke his back a few years ago. What is in his bag? His spine is pissed
there's a boombox in there too
Muska seems like the type of dude who will give the dopest interview and at the end would genuinely be like "Was that alright?" Super interesting and inspiring, thanks guys!
I step on a board once every other year ( hey I can still bigspin lol )but I still credit skateboarding with making me tough and helping me through tough times. Muska was skateboarding for me, glad to see life is still good to him. Thanks muska for good times with friends.
Love that there was moments where they let him talk for like 10 minutes straight, just him and them not saying anything just listening
A great host knows when to be silent. That's a legit art form.
Have noticed that in a lot of these episodes like the Tony hawk and Steve-O ones. These dudes are really good listeners and the comfort level their guests must feel to talk for that long uninterrupted
? They are fans tho!
@@robertlund5694 ????? Wtf you talking about
That's because they are in the presence of a living legend. They all are huge fans. Crob has a board inspired by this dude right behind him. Plus, Muska has some amazing stories to tell. All around great episode.

Musks and Paris Hilton was the best thing to happen to skateboarding... ... ..
I was in 3rd fuckin grade with TSA cargo pants bunched at my ankles... the impact was heavy on the world
Hell yeah and John cardiel on anti hero!!!!
Uh the best thing to happen to skateboarding was the urethane wheel..how old are you..lol
I’ll Never forget the time the muskalade pulled up to me and my group of friends heading to a demo, the dark tinted window rolled down and Muska shouted “Yo! Where the demo at?” He killed it that day like the legend that he is.
"The only limitations that really exist in life are the ones that we place upon ourselves"...Right on muska, right on
Also flying since we dont have wings
Muska needs a book. Sit down and vent all that knowledge.
Great great job again guys!

The most genuinely authentic skater to have appeared on the nine. Chad Muska knows he is a flawed character and instead of fighting against what would be a negative aspect to most mortals Muska has embraced the flaws and incorporated it into who and what he is. 4 hours well spent learning the history of the lifestyle I love.

This felt like I was watching a movie on his life. What a classic interview
The way he describes literally everything was a huge vivid picture of his life. I could literally picture everything he was talking about and been through. He’s so humble. And his little interaction with bam was so heartwarming. You can definitely feel everything in this story.
I love watching some off these guys first come on the show and you can totally tell they don't know what to say and where to start but by the middle of interview the stories start straight flowing and by the end they don't want to stop!!!it's like a form of therapy for them and I love it!!!

How can you not love this man. I remember after Tony Hawk's Underground everyone was hyped on Chad, lol.
Otm Shank he was hyped on way before that video game
Idk why I had animosity towards this dude when I was a little skater. Such a good dude.

It brings a tear when you see what it was all about. Ape edit gets mad props on that 1. I had the muska es with stash pocket. Doing fakie fs flips tryin to do em like him 🏄🤙🏽
I had the brown ones w yellow laces. Loved those shoes because they were so comfortable straight out the box. No breaking them in.
Chris is hella good at interviewing people
That’s because he’s knowledgeable, genuinely interested in his guests and allows them to actually talk! The fact Chris has a good sense of humour doesn’t hurt either!
He needs to get hired by nbc to interview skaters at the olympics.
I love sarcasm but constructive criticism like sounding insincere three words into the guest’s response kinda sometimes stifles the flow of a story and can be disrespectful. Also , validating and paraphrasing with a kinda patronising tone is unnecessary. Just trying to offer my observation for better interviews.
