For difficulty above normal, the boot upgrade isn't really that good, it just change from insta detected to 2-3 white lightning alert when running somewhat close to them. Which sucks, at that point If you want to move fast and still be quiet, just do crouch jump spam, sure its goofy but works much better.
I only figured out that they cancel all sound when running because I was goofing around on a save and was running away from a horde of enemies and realized the enemies below me didn’t notice me when I was put of the chase

I could run up full-sprint behind a guard, perform a ballerina spin, do the kazachok, break it down, and he would just stand there smoking.

If that was happening in Dishonored 2 every damn guard would peak watching the exact angle you're at I have no idea why did they add this feature ALL THE ENEMIES JUST KNOW WHERE TO LOOK OR TO WALK TO

And every single time they either stop at the nearest place to your hiding place and start looking in your direction or can just walk through the long ahh corridor straight to you. And the thing is. It can be the same guard on the same place doing this. (tested through the quick save)
I played Dishonored 10 years ago and i have never felt more GRATEFUL for this to show up and highlight how incredible those "upgrades" are. THANK YOU FOR THIS MAN. Cheers to this channel!!
Something i hate from these games is that you cant really "talk" to the important enemies. You can talk with lord regent on the tv, and you can talk with the traitor (i dont remember his name) at the end of the game. But not much more, i mean, in some situations i think that if you don't have your weapons out and you let yourself get seen walking by them there should be a little dialogue. In the second game i tried to do this with Jindosh and he just get scared and fought me

Man that is outstanding. I've always loved this upgrade, but was too risk averse to really try and make proper use of it like this, you've inspired my next playthrough, well done.

@@coolseaturtle4616that, and the OP is probably playing on the Easy mode. I’ve played a lot of hours of Dishonored on Very Hard and I can assure you that the guards are way more observant than that.
I always buy Boot Stealth. It’s just amazing. Full sprint and no one hears you. I also tend to go for all upgrades at the end, whether or not I’ll use them.
Actually just finished main campaign yesterday, now doing both of daud’s dlc campaigns. I always knew the stealth boots were that effective. Edit:I just finished daud’s dlc campaigns today. It was worth it, Dishonored is indeed the greatest series I’ve ever played.
As a person who JUST beat this game on Very Hard, Non-Lethal, Ghost, No Powers... You are most certainly playing on Normal or maybe even Easy in this video. This would absolutely not happen on Very Hard...
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Boot Stealth II just completely disables footstep detection right? It doesn’t reduce it down to an almost invisible level or something?

I think that's just heavy machinery in the world synchronizing with metal clunks Corvo's balls of steel make, making them unnoticeable

There is a hatch in the elevator. You can skip entire penthouse section if you use it. If you have double jump ability ofcourse.

This feels like playing Dishonored with Payday 2 stealth where even if you pass through guards, they wouldn't care.

It fully disables walking and sprinting sound, but landing sounds can still be heard
