I have 6 seedling jackfruit trees growing in my greenhouse in a 10b cold hardiness zone here in Australia near Sydney (Newcastle) in New South Wales. 2 of them are 2 years old & about 2-3 feet tall, growing them in a greenhouse has been a necessity because the cold winters will kill them overnight when it occasionally does dip down to 32°F (0°C),on average it's about 33-35°F overnight during winter time. They're just about ready to be planted outside now & I know,it takes about 2-3 years for them to produce fruit when grown from seed in Southern Florida where it's tropical. During summer time where it reaches 37-38°C (about 100°F) direct sunlight will kill a jackfruit seedling as well. If I go about 100 kilometres (60 miles) inland from where I live their winter nights will kill a Jackfruit tree unless they're well protected, it's easier growing them closer to the ocean here as well !
Hi from Rancho Bernardo. Love what you’ve been able to accomplish with your fruit trees! That’s my dream. How are you faring with the current rain storm?
Haven’t seen videos from you for a while. I’m putting my jackfruit in the ground sometime mid to late February. I’m surprised you’ve gotten that cold. I think here in my 10a (North Orange County) we haven’t gone below 38. That said I suppose there could be some frost. I have seen it on roofs once about 2-3 weeks ago.
Just found you! I'm in Vista, too. Near the courthouse. Been here my whole life. Where did you buy your jackfruit tree and when do you expect to get fruit off of it? I've got a half acre and want to start getting some producing trees soon.
Thank you so much for sharing! I've actually had a dream of getting the wild jack fruit that grows in India. If anyone has any seeds!? The wild jackfruit gets about the size of a grapefruit. I bet we could grow it here too! I'm in 10B just a little north and west of you. :)
I've been a subscriber for less than a year now and I'm very interested in what you've done. Would you be interested in selling or donating cuttings or seeds? I'm near the Salton Sea, in Slab City. I'm creating a permaculture food oasis here in the desert of Southern California. My goal is to help people reverse and prevent malnutrition. This community is mostly made up of homeless people, travelers, people dealing with mental illness and drug addictions. Most people here feel like they don't belong in mainstream society. Anyway, I feel my life's purpose is to create this for Slab City and I hope to encourage the full time residents to start growing food for themselves, once they see what is possible. The moringa tree will be the most prominent feature here. I'll be willing to pay the FedEx/UPS delivery fee. USPS doesn't deliver to Slab City and it is a 30 mile round trip to the closest post office.

I’m happy with all the rain it’s gonna be very good for the trees. Good thing I’m on a hill and there is no flooding here.
Oh boy, I have been waiting a long while to see ya

Hey, nice tree. How old is it? I have a year-old jackfruit that I have grown from seed and it's about one foot tall. Slow grower...
Oh whoops. You answered that later on in the video.
It’s about 3 years old
Could i buy some cuttings or seedling of your snow white guava? Could you let me know . Thanks

Nice. Check out one of my few videos that shows a huge jackfruit in Buena Park. At least 25 feet with huge fruit.
Saw the video, that’s very impressive!
