Beta blockers, also known as beta-adrenergic blockers, are a class of medications that block the effects of epinephrine (adrenaline) on beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart, blood vessels, and other parts of the body.
Examples of beta-blockers are atenolol (also called Tenormin)
bisoprolol (also called Cardicor or Emcor)
carvedilol.
labetalol (also called Trandate)
metoprolol (also called Betaloc or Lopresor)
propranolol (also called Inderal or Angilol)
sotalol.
