The appeal is largely because she is real. 100%, unadulterated authenticity. She is exactly who she appears to be, and she appears to be as beautiful of a human being, as she is a beautiful singer. In the countless hours I've spent watching her performances, interviews, and her own videos just talking about whatever, I've never heard anything that has tarnished my perception of her. I can't think of another person I could honestly say that about.
This performance was my first experience with Aurora. I've been following KEXP for ages and the thumbnail for this caught my eye. I immediately started looking into other performances and I've been hooked ever since.
One of my personal secret fantasies is not seeing my favorite band at Super Bowl halftime, but seeing Aurora not just play on but host one Saturday Night Live episode. Those of us who have had a glimpse of Aurora and her quirky nature, seen her comedic timing in interviews, or her know about her forgetting her lyrics, giving odd answers to questions, but also having the joy and amazement of her inner child while doing it .. She would be great. Imagine the sketches she could do.

But you should have a time machine, because I already see a safer and more staid Aurora, and I don't think she would have those peaks of involuntary (voluntary?) comedy that made her adorable. I already regret This Aurora from KEXP 2018 because I know she will never return (and neither will her braids). But in retrospect we have a time machine, YT.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Aurora live 3 times and I’ve never seen anyone else as amazing as this young artist. Live seriously no one comes close to her ability it’s on a different level, forget your media driven over sexualised mainstream music that churn out all of the same lyrics and cliches that you’ve heard so many times before Aurora is the essence of what music should be all about and delivers every time.yes I’m a fan and love her for she is so genuine not a false bone in her body she loves her songs as little children and shares that love as a medicine for everyone,so humble a beautiful human soul and I’m blessed to have her in my life.❤️

Her backup singer is Silja Sol now on her own solo career check her out, she sounds like she came out of a children's fairytale.....another great Norwegian artist.

I hear ya. I completely soaked myself in Aurora's music when I first discovered her. It took awhile to pull out, because it was so very valuable. It's no less valuable and magnificent now - not at all! But at some point, I went back to other music in addition. Yes, during my life, I have discovered music that I immersed myself in for a time. Same with other spiritual influences. I smiled when you started singing and bopping along at intervals - haha - yes! The heart just gets happy. And, yes, JBL have great headphones. I have a different brand, now, but great headphones like JBL transform a listening experience, for sure!

I made the remark about falling in love, love can take many forms, love of her music, love her of personality, and love of her for being the genuine/real person that she is. Aurora is obviously a special human being that is hard not to love for many reasons. I did not mean love in a romantic way. I also suggested this live performance, so you would see her up close and personal, different than a video, or a stage performance. She is confined to a small area, with a small audience, no special effects or lighting but her just singing and being 100% Aurora. I hoped this would show you why she has so many fans in Europe and America, to simply put it, she's real!
Great reaction 🤗 This is one of my favourite concerts by her, along with Nidarosdomen, HAIK and Vierlive Forum Bergen (performed without an audience because of the pandemic) When she performed “Runaway” at the Nobel Peace Prize concert she was very nervous, and in the beginning of her career she moved differently. She said when she saw herself move while singing, she thought it looked like she had a seizure or something. Now she’s much more confident on stage 💕 I love her no matter what, and I love that she doesn’t care what people think of her 👍😍😍 Yesss✋I always sing along with Aurora when I’m listening to her, it’s impossible not to 😅

I have to take a break from music like that too. I really don’t like to listen to things that give off negative vibes but even too many positive vibes can start to be A LOT as well. I've been revisiting some of my favorite Aurora reactions, while I wait for people to react to her newest album, which brings me to my point...Aurora just released a new album and it's very different from everything she's done in the past. Aurora has only matured more since her last album, and her new album is incredible. I'd love to see some new Aurora reactions. I'd recommend starting with the music video for Starvation. There are a few music videos for the singles, but the singles aren't really where the album shines most. Other songs I'd recommend - The Blade, My Body is not Mine, The Essence, and Earthly Delights. You won't find many good live performances of these songs yet since the album is new (and I think a lot of people are avoiding the live videos because of her tour coming up. The element of surprise, and all that.), but the studio versions are great.
And as time goes by, none of the band members from this KEXP show are with Aurora anymore. Magnus, the drummer, was the last to quit, a couple of weeks ago.
This is amazing even tho I feel they have some kind of sound issues, it's not usual for the background singers to sound so loud, sometimes the background vocals are stronger than aurora's, and both her and the other girl (I won't spell her name I don't remember it well enough) are touching their ears, idk if they have a piece but it looks like something it's a little off

Most men and women love Aurora for her personality and her music comes second. Most common today among women is a desire to be strong with a claim they are men's equals. They use all kinds of tricks to show off strength. Wearing clothes showing forms and skin. Wearing makeup telling they are ready for sex at any time. Aurora does the complete opposite. She shows off her weakness, innocence, and her realization of being the weaker sex, and this acceptance of reality how it actually is makes her strong. Strong in the sense she's appealing to our decency, our consciousness, our sense of perfection how we want the world to be if we could have Utopia. It is unavoidable to give rise to the feeling that Aurora must be protected at all costs. This is what you summarize in what you call "strange sex appeal". It's strange because it is uncommon. It appeals because it plays into our instinct to protect what we hold dear. It's sexy because we want to play the active role in bed and we want her to play the passive and innocent role - at the edge of producing the feeling we cannot do her because she's simply too precious.
