    “My friend Pete” has done many Street Beast kit cars but never a cobra. You do nice work!

    Hey Pete! I got a streetbeast cobra at the same time you did. In fact I saw your first video about unpacking when I took delivery. Uncanny timing!
    Don’t feel bad about how long it’s taking. You’re slightly ahead of me! So many things that need to be re engineered on these kits.
    I really appreciate your ingenuity and your channel has been like an old friend to me as I’ve been at this for a long time and people wonder if I will ever get finished with this car. But life keeps getting in the way. I’m enjoying how it’s coming out though.
    Thanks again Pete!

      That's awesome, thank you. It's the old story for me, the mechanic never has a nice car because he's building them for other people, but I'm determined to finish quickly.

    Love the work you are doing on this Pete. I have that same roll bar. I need to make that third hole in the back. But they mounted and welded all of the brackets to the frame.

      Those are easy to cut off. I cut a couple off mine to make this one fit.

    Are you happy with the roll bar, as a finished product? The reason I'm asking, is that it appears to sit quite low (too low) in my opinion, when compared to the original cars. If it were my install, I would fab some extensions, that wouldn't be seen, that mount to the bottom legs of your roll bar, to lift it up, several inches. I hope you take this criticism, constructively, as I intended it! Extremely strong work, overall, I really enjoy your videos on the Cobra build.

      The one that came with the kit looked wrong. I tried a couple and liked this one specifically because it is lower. I could have lifted it up a little but the third leg would not have ended up in a good spot. It's not functional, more like a decoration.

    Nice work Pete! I know it has to be done but I get so nervous watching people drill into their cars 🙈😂

    Hi Pete, not knocking Street Beasts but I like the Classic Roadsters kits better. If I recall you built a Classic Roadsters kit too.

      It is a crappy kit, that's why they went out of business

    I am not getting how you measured for the third hole inside the body wall.

    • @PetesGarage
      @PetesGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just use a straight edge to transfer the line to the body on the top and bottom, then connect the marks.

      @jacolon61 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PetesGarage Thank you Sir! I just think I have to do this now with the body mounted since all the holes and brackets are in except for the 3rd hole. Thanks again!

    Hey Pete. I’m having a very hard time finding a nice rollbar like yours on line. Any website address you could pass along? Are you willing to sell the rollbar set you didn’t use? I’m probably going to paint mine anyway. Either way what I’m trying to do is have two roll hoops in my car. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

      Mine is a streebeast as well. They were in the process of secretly going out of business when I got mine so I didn’t get all the parts I paid for.
      So yours came with one rollbar? How much do you want for it?

      Pete's Garage thanks. I have not settle on an engine yet. I have you number Stettin down when the time comes. Would be neat to build something and do an install vid

    As far as I can tell the hoop mounts are simply bolted to the fiberglass body behind the seat. If this is the case, you don't have a roll bar as it will fold like a lawn chair is asked to perform as such. Not to take away from the skills used in this video or the aesthetic on the final project. If later in the build the hoop mounts are welded to the frame, ignore this comment altogether.
