  • While we were camped at Memaloose State Park I was looking for nearby things to do and discovered a fun day of exploring in Mosier, Oregon. Join me for a hike to a swimming hole and viewpoint, a stop at the Rowena Crest overlook, and a great deal on local cherries.
Thanks for watching and being a part of our travels ❤

Oh. HA, Don't know how I came across this video, but I live in the hills of Mosier.
The best time to visit is in spring when the Balsam Root and wild flowers are peaked.

This is stunning! Loving the boot cleaner, reminds us of all of the cowboy boot cleaners we have in texas 😂

That was awesome! We will be in Oregon tomorrow (yay!), but only have the next 6 nights planned then nothing. The Gorge is on one of our many ideas!

I think it’s even more beautiful with the late spring/early summer wildflowers 🌸🌿😍 but it seemed like we missed it by a few weeks

Beautiful place! This is within driving distance for me BUT no dogs... :-( I still might do this hike; it looks so lovely. Thanks.

The vistas are lovely! Just wish I’d caught it earlier in the year with more wildflowers 😍

Yup 😂 wish I’d had time to do the little trail at Rowena!

The Rowena area you were seeing from the Rowena over look is a GREAT smallmouth bass fishing area in mid May! I have landed over 40 bass in a day from that area from shore and a boat. I have some other places not faraway that I have landed 120 bass in a day and the average size is two pounds. the biggest bass I have landed from Rowena is 4lbs 10oz. The bass spawn in that area. I release all my bass! Roger

That’s a whole lotta bass! The 120lb one sounds like a beast!

That area looks really interesting. We’ve been to the Columbia River Gorge but it was way back when a huge part of a boulder fell down off the Multnomah falls and we weren’t able to go up there at all - - and we didn’t explore anything else in the area because of time. I guess it’s time to return!! :D

Wow! There were cliff collapses at some of the other nearby waterfalls in the last five years. I guess it’s still quite a dynamic area 😳 We’ll have some more footage/trip ideas from Hood River coming next week!

Thanks for the feedback ☺️ we just started with doing shorter, but more focused, videos…and putting out at least two per week, and more depending on how much we do in an area. So hopefully overall each week you’ll be seeing more content from us 😄 We appreciate your support and kindness!

Do you know when cherries are available? We plan to be there September 2022. I guess that may be too late.

    • @WanderlandTravelers

This was mid July, so the cherries will probably be done in Sept. but there is a drive (we didn't do) south of Hood River called the Fruit Loop and it's full of u-pick farms, so there could still be some local fruit to find. Might be a great time for apples! hoodriverfruitloop.com/travel-tips/fruit-loop-map
