- Today we're talking about brakes!
On any vehicle that goes fast, you really want to make sure the braking system is up to par, so we made this guide to go over the basics of the braking upgrades available. For anyone looking to upgrade their brake components, this is the video for you.
So what are the components that we go over?
Brake calipers, floating brake rotors, brake lines, brake master cylinders, brake fluid, brake pads, and reservoirs.
They all interplay together, being a single system, so when upgrading its important to take note on how all the components relate and play off of each other.
We've also got bike model specific videos coming up soon, so stay tuned for deeper dives into the braking systems of the S1000RR/M1000RR, Panigale V4, R1/R1M, and more!

Thank you! Next series of these videos will be following up with specific bike model brake upgrade videos.
Very useful information 👍!!!
Thank you my friend 😁!!!
Thanks for visiting
Absolute BEST video breakdown of braking!!!!! You cleared up so many questions! Thanks Mani
Glad it was helpful!
Very interesting and detailed (without being Boring) good job. 👏
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
Loved this, very informative, it’ll definitely help me with my project ❤
Glad it was helpful!
this is soo imformative more videos like this manny good job ..like the animations showing how things work
Thank you! Video editing props goes to our awesome media team here!
I recently upgraded the master cylinder on my 2020 S1000RR M-Sport track bike to a RCS19 CorsaCorta, with Motul RBF700 brake fluid. What a difference! The lines and calipers are already good enough and don’t need upgrading in my opinion. I have the free play set to Race mode and it’s an absolute joy on the track. One thing to bear in mind is that you may need the GS911 tool to bleed the ABS system on this bike.
The Gs911 is amazing for that. If you install the Stylema calipers on there you will be mind blown.
nice break upgrades
solid upgrade
Awesome video Manny!
Thank you!
This was very good. Thanks for the video.
You're very welcome!
Hey Mani we also use floating rotors for roll racing also! We take advantage of the floating benefits to reduce drag on our single front rotor/caliper setup and paired with WWW Ceramic bearings its a nice bolt on upgrade! Loved the video
Another solid vid broo❤🔥
Thank you! Really appreciate the support, the likes and the comments!
excellent presentation mani, bravo
Thank you! Cheers!
@@Motomillion and damn you, you making me wanna spend more money on my HP4 for upgrades 😂😂
This was great thanks
Glad you liked it!
Great information thanks motomillion!!!!
Our pleasure!
Great video! Way more useful than showing off superbikes with useless blink blink in order to ride em till the local Starbucks.
Glad it was helpful 😂
We still enjoy a good ride to the local coffee shop though!
Amazing video! My R1 brakes I feel are the weakest part of the bike. I’m going to have to hit you up for some recommendations!
Thank you! Would be more than happy to give you some good recommendations.
nice informative video💯
Thank you! Glad its proving useful :)
grate video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
very interestering, well explained too. Does a caliper upgrade also affect the abs system?. Or does the abs system have to be upgraded? I am thinking about switching from old 2 piston calipers to 4 piston calipers..
Braided stainless steel brake lines seem to have max pressure at 4000psi. Carbon fibre braided lines are therefore 4x higher.
Love the instructional information. Thank you!
Great point!
I was going to ask the max pressure for a ss braided line - thanks for the info
So much information and here i am with my 6 pistons hayabusa that takes forever to stop hahaha
Hayabusa's have 6 pistons?
I love you deal with high end super bikes, but I would love for you to start doing 2021 gsxr600 super bikes😂
Once again you’re the best out there
Maybe one day!
Awesome
Thanks!
Im currently thinking buying zx10r after 4 years of riding 300cc bikes. Im surprised motomillion doesn't do zx10r mods. Im currently looking which exhaust is good on it. The graves and vandemon seems nice. I hope in future video you will do modification for the zx10r
A valve and cylinder explanation video?
Great suggestion!

If you were going to do one brake upgrade for an R1M, what would it be? There's no track where I live (Hawaii) so stock brakes are ok but when practicing panic stops they definitely leave something to be desired. Thanks Mani!
I would at least do the front master cylinder, and get a set of more aggressive pads.
Whats the most effective chain and sprocket setup for the R1 for street use?
Going to reply with a question. Effective meaning?
Basically I will like to get rid of the lugging at low speeds.I flashed and tuned it but I would love to get rid of more.I am also looking to make the bike quicker and keeping the wheelies to a minimum. Thanks
From what I seen some say 43 tooth will get the job done.Wanted your input.
What the best braking system for R1M?
We actually have a complete upgrade set for the R1M!

Didn’t know about carbon brake lines… the carbon weave is, assumedly, not water tight, so what lines the inside of the brake line?
There are teflon lines in there, the brake line always has an inner tubing no matter what it is braided with.
Why its written as brcmbo 9n the calipers tho?..bootleg brembo?
😮
Professor Mani
Have you seen or tried the
"SICOM DMC Dual Matrix Composite Ceramic T-Drive Front Brake Discs"
Supposed to be better and much lighter than any other disk.
Well appart from carbon disks, but those don't work without extream heat.
No, hard to justify the price tag to run around the street with it.
@@Motomillion They are expensive for sure.
But...
Maybe they last well and spinning mass is a big deal.
Expensive is relative term anyway, when you look at full system exhaust prices for a Panigale V4R for example 😁
All this for "look at me" 650ib nor this guy are capable to even come close to over riding the factory brakes or getting "brake fade" on that bike.
Also as a M1000rr owner myself the M1000rr looks awesome but for what you get its way over priced thats why im selling mine tomorrow and getting a Ducati v4R comes with the brembos and ohlins like the M SHOULD have!
Brembo Gp4ms 4500$ 😂
They are much less, they are around 3k mark, but don't need the GP4MS even, the Stylema is an upgrade to many bikes like the S1000RR / M1000RR and they are under 1k for both calipers.
My bike has Stylema calibers are they also mono-block?
Yes, Stylema's are cast monoblock calipers.
