I used to pay $28 for Dolce and Gabbana nail polish. It was worth every penny. It went on perfectly and I could get at least 7 days without a single chip. It was the only brand that I ever repurchased colors from because I hit the bottom of the bottle. Unfortunately, they no longer make nail polish. They had great colors they I can’t find anywhere. I like Holo Taco. They have some great colors!
Cupcake polish and cirque colors have GORGEOUS and I mean GORGEOUS nail polishes. I went crazy for awhile there buying from those brands because they have so many beautiful options. Love holo taco too 😊

I was almost convinced that red just wasn’t for me until I realized that the orangy reds were what I needed. And the same goes for nail polish. Us warm-toned people need some orangy red, Simply!
You lucky then because my mom has beautiful olvie skin complexion but the only red that ever looked good on her is M.A.C's chilli pepper color or whatever the correct name is yeah those deep rich brick red is her color. Any other red looks ridiculous on her like they look either too orangey or too blue under tone so colors like fire engine red or even M.A.C's Russian red are not there type of shades..
Im the same except I need blue/pink based red. Most are warmer toned and look terrible on me. I found one (L'Oreal Drumbeat Red) but ofc it was discontinued. 🙄
I have to admit Yves saint Lauren top coat is one of the best topcoats I've tried, especially if you have to use only clear polish for work or school it dries super quickly and it won't come off in 1 and a half weeks no base coat needed
Got so nervous when you clanked the bottles together - I did that when I was a kid and wound up with a hot pink polish explosion all over my parent’s green carpet 😬 lol glad they didn’t crack for you!
The Hermes nail paint was probably created so their customers can create the "purchasing profile" they need to get to the Birkin bag. You gotta dress well, you gotta establish a relationship with a Sales Associate and only when this Associate deems you worthy (that is, your purchase profile"), you can REQUEST for a any of the many Birkin styles. They are never on display, they are not found online. It's all so preposterously rich that my middle class ass will never fathom. But the nail paint is definitely a way for customers to "show interest" in Hermes so the associate deems you worth a Birkin.

The latest collection finally made me give in! And there's three different finishes, so I get to try different things. 😊
11:31 Super Glossy Taco makes a HUGE difference in the durability of your nail polish. I'm someone who constantly uses my nails as a multitool and a Holo Taco basecoat and Super Glossy Taco gets them lasting a week +. Super Glossy Taco has possibly dangerous chemicals so there's Glossy Taco too but I've found it doesn't work as well as Super Glossy Taco.
The other key to your nails drying fast is to build up a bunch of thin coats, instead of one or two thick coats. As far as those designer bottles - because that’s one reason I buy anything designer, to decorate my vanity - neither are particularly my style, but I’d feel like I got my money’s worth with the Jimmy Choo bottles, since they’re so flashy.
Those Hermes ones are gorgeous, but I would never ever ever spend that much on a polish. I don't care about brand names, Holo Taco is the most I will spend because I know it is so worth it and they are my favorites that I own.

What I think is ironic is the people these brands are targeting do not paint their own nails. These are clearly meant for display purposes. I think you've come out with some really unique shades, but I only use regular nail polish on my toes in colder months. In summer I switch to gel. For my nails I only use gel polish because it lasts longer and has extra strength and shine. I also am a nail tech so I was trained in gel and fell in love with it.
I actually saw Dior selling a lip gloss with real holo sparkles. I wanted to send a picture to Simply but I am not on Twitter lol. That was in Germany about 3-5 years ago.

I know Hermes for two things only. My mom's perfume which smells horrible to me. It's called Eau de Merveilles and I absolutely hate the smell of it. And another perfume I think it's the Jour d'Hermes which is remarkably better and reminds me of iced tea. Otherwise nothing else comes to mind. My mom owned both for a short period but now is back with the stinky perfume (the former) and another one which is a dupe of another expensive perfume that has nothing to do with Hermes.
Definitely want to see some more "normie" cremes from HT because yes those shades are easy to find at the drugstore BUT NOT CRUELTY FREE! CF nail polish is not abundant and that's one of the reasons I love Holo Taco. Please make more beautiful, saturated shades like Royal-Tea Blue. I was hugely disappointed by my Left on Red purchase because it's weirdly greyed out and desaturated, which doesn't come across in the pictures! The HT line still needs a gorgeous ACTUALLY bright lipstick red creme shade, and ideally a whole collection of them to suit different skin tones and undertones. Side note: loving the return of Stay Here with You, such a bop!
My mom had a phase where she got really into collecting Chanel nail polishes They’ve actually come out with some surprisingly funky colors over the years. I think she still might have a bottle of holographic laying around somewhere
Hermes is definitely more interesting. But i prefer the Jimmy Choo bottle. They are known for high heels and i think that's part of where the long handle came from. Hermes' online store here (US) doesn't show those shades as of me writing, but I did see that they have a full nail care line including files, lotion, a topper, and a base coat. Then i got curious and started looking around...their LIPSTICK is more than the nail polish!!! They also have a lipstick case that is $450!!!!!!! I never ever want to be the level of wealthy that thinks that is acceptable in anyway. There's no way those ingredients, even ethically sourced, should cost that much. They were standard shades!

An oily base for my thick, prone to dehydrate nails, at least 6 months a year but it doesn't prevent staining. As a top coat I prefer a clear, normal drying that I can also use as a base coat, top layer drying a few 2nd faster doesn't change for how long I risk to spoil my manicure. Plus I'm very cheap, I heard it's extra solvent, so maybe that's why my Top Coats run out quicker than Base Coat. The clear from Orly Breathable(my nails love that line)who didn't say was a Speedy One that's why I bought it, even the day after will melt the top layer.
Tbh there are two reasons why anyone would know Hermes: their actual products, especially scarfs (they are beautiful and somewhat affordable even for middle class), and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6 Stone Ocean
One bottle of holo taco would cost me $60 to ship to Australia so I wouldn’t be able to even get 2 bottles for $100. Wish there was an Australian stockiest. I don’t usually keep nail polish on long 🤷🏻♀️
I know this was four months ago but it came up in my recommended again and honestly I kind of wish Holo Taco would come out with a similar color to that Hermes Violet maganese or whatever they're calling it - it's just an interesting kind of shimmery neutral purple and I still dig it (but I'm never paying $50 for a polish lol)

After taxes and shipping to New Brunswick Canada, one bottle of Holo taco (the most expensive bottle mind you) is 39.70$ but in my opinion is worth every penny.
Chanel has actually done some pretty interesting polishes in the past But I think it’s because they’re also like more into making the makeup line a thing instead of just making it be like merch for their own brand
Longorettynail bought the entire collection of Hermes and they gave base and top coat. What she said is that the formula of Hermes is self level so it looks nice and smooth..... Not worth the 50 bucks but hey!! At least they're not a shitty nail polish

It's worth noting that the Hermes polishes are made to match colors and finishes on their bags. So that you can match your nails to your bag. :)

I’m fairly neutral-toned but I still prefer warm reds on me. I want a garish almost-orange red creme!!
I knew they had to look good on someone! I'm very cool toned and need either a true red or a blue-toned red, the orange reds don't look right on me.
The Jimmy Choo bottle was actually very clever bc it looks like a stiletto on a heel. Even was made flat on one side to resemble the heel even more

I had to buy an IKEA storage to fit my ever growing collection. The lennart worked super good and everything actually fits pretty securely.

Yeah, I can’t afford the UK shipping so unfortunately for now I won’t own any Holo Taco :( I mainly wear cheap black polishes anyways 😂

Chanel made a pure linear holo in the 2000's called "holographic" (didn't go far for that one)
Chanel had some good polishes; idk if they still do, but Vamp was what started the non-pink/red/nude color boom in the 90s.

I know this was four months ago but it came up in my recommended again and honestly I kind of wish Holo Taco would come out with a similar color to that Hermes Violet maganese or whatever they're calling it - it's just an interesting kind of shimmery neutral purple and I still dig it (but I'm never paying $50 for a polish lol)

Longorettynail bought the entire collection of Hermes and they gave base and top coat. What she said is that the formula of Hermes is self level so it looks nice and smooth..... Not worth the 50 bucks but hey!! At least they're not a shitty nail polish
