He doesn’t just go out there and say “Oh, yeah Zach Is a liar” (or something like that) He watches his videos and states the good things and bad things. I really appreciate that you called yourself out too. It takes a true, genuine person to do that when you could have easily ignored it and the people who would have brought it up. Yes it’s nice that he called himself out but he is still doing all of the things ZHC is doing in terms of clickbait. It just isn’t working that well for him and I think it’s making him frustrated. I mean he uses ZHC name for views and then splits the video in two parts before even explaining his perspective to double engagement on his videos and encourage subscriptions. It’s honestly sad.

He wasnt beyond Marvel comics level. His art looked exactly like someone else’s art, David Finch. With a few elements that looked weird. i also admired his art but once he stopped making those videos David Finch had just created a channel with very useful tips. And from there I discovered other incredible artists like Jim Lee. From there I didnt consider ZHC as good as I thought he was.

As others have pointed out, he aped his entire art style, wholesale, from comic artist David Finch, and it’s pretty obvious he taught himself to draw solely by looking at Dave Finch’s art. It’s impressive at a glance, but it’s all style and no substance, and the style isn’t even his. Very weak fundamentals, thinly masked by professional looking shading techniques. The dude can draw, to be sure, and to be able to imitate one of the best guys to ever do it at the age of 18 is truly impressive, but he’s still just aping one well known artist, and that’ll only take a person so far. There’s a reason he’s living the Smurf life instead of breaking into comics. He has nothing to say with his art. He’s a poser.

Jazza, thank you for making this video. In my opinion, (1) ZHC has been using extremely deceptive and dishonest tactics in his content which goes beyond clickbait; often the cost of items, as per your experience, are made up in order to inflate his content. I’ve noticed that in numerous videos (2)His content has rubbed the community the wrong way for the last 2-ish years especially because he also mistreated and mislead a few of our friends in this community. He is only using people for his own benefit without giving them due credit. (3) throughout the last 2 years, he has been neglecting safety measures, socializing, travelling, and all of the stuff so many of us were sacrificing. (4) AND more! We, in the art community, love it when we see each other succeed, this is a fact. Zach wants to flex, and step on others to get there. I also have been wanting to expose a few things, but I need others’ permissions to do so. This video is done in such a caring and concerned way, and I commend you for that. You truly are still the king of this community to us Jazza because you still do represent art and this community by giving back and paving the way for us. Although I know you’re hoping he would connect with you, I’m pretty sure that he’s too absorbed in this, and this is the path he will continue on since flexing is one of his main motivator. Again, nothing is wrong with wanting money, but the deception and misleading/using people is gross. (Edit: I really can’t stop watching the custom corn bit lol)

    Its sad to watch this.
I was never an actual fan or follower of Zach. But watching this video, it pains me to see how a young talented aspiring artist tried showing off his skill on the internet, and ultimately ended up being dragged into the dark hole of "content spew" that youtube fuels these days.
Real passion for art, turnt into passion for money.

    • @TheGreatKingChiba
      @TheGreatKingChiba ปีที่แล้ว +4

This is what happens when the "artists" think that art means you have to make money. None of these people would be doing it without the cash they make off of it and then we all waste our time wondering why the medium is so degenerative at this point.
It's either for the passion or it's for the bag... it's never both, period. We don't need 5000 more artists to all line up and tell the same sob story about burn out for us to learn that.

No clue who that guy is nor the people he "fame chase" after mentioned in comments and in the video too but yeah one thing is aparant. He desperately went the typical trashpie route of spamming nonsense clickbait videos, paying for advertising and bots otherwise he would never have the watch data (numbers) he have today.
The trend phase of genderism, weird attention seeking, calling upon a made up disability and related stuff is all present "oh feel sorry for me and give me money because I have bla bla bla" like it will justify all the other lies and nonsense content that he did before or after these type of "boohoo" contents.
So many online did this and being exposed liars but most even contradict themselves with every video to the point that you don't even need to dig deep and investigate.
I am genuenly surprised many of these don't get put into prison because they are basically scams and criminal acts.
The trend and agenda feeding is present and he just tap into every trend there is far as I seen so far. Mind you all that alg is fake, aka projected and manufactured, they all collectively feeding the algorythm and it's all fake. It's not what people watch it's what people get exposed to through ads and clickbaits.
At the end of day the only entity that makes huge amounts of money on this literary doing nothing is Google and corporations who monetize these all. The "content" creators do all the work and get chum change in return, hence why naively everyone with half a brain and no life will gladly start doing these for a living.
So he is another sad puppet chasing vapor.
Many ppl I know so did I been there in many partner programs and simply quit YEARS AGO this social media nonsense and "content creation" because actual content creators and creative people not only can't make a living but also can't even have any hobby based small communities because soon as you don't follow the "cult" you get backstabbed. It's too much wasted time and effort for nothing.
It's toxic (harmful for you and others equally in billions of ways) and I leave it at that.

The difference between Jazza and Zach is that Jazza acknowledges his mistakes and clickbait- and whenever he notices it, he always tries to correct himself and take a break on TH-cam to give us the best content. Zach on the other hand, just makes a joke about it and tends to “give” to more popular creators that don’t really need it. I’m an artist with carpal tunnel. I’ve had it for over ten years. I can’t draw detailed drawings for longer than maybe an hour or so without pain and unfortunately now my hand will go numb. This is one reason why I prefer painting. Less tension on my hands. So seeing this is eyebrow raising 😅

    • @bluesetise

How do you work with it? Does it ever go away/get better?? If not, are there methods of prevention?

    • @ArtHustlerAcademy
      @ArtHustlerAcademy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@bluesetise No, it does not go away, but there are ways to prevent it from happening. Typically it occurs when your wrists are constantly at a bent position for long periods of time, so it doesn’t happen overnight. Mine occurred because of my sleep position. I use to sleep with my hands tucked and wrists bent underneath my chin. So the doctors gave me wrist splints that restrained me from bending my wrists at night. There are other ways it can occur, but that’s how I got it.
There are treatments that can be done at the chiropractor to alleviate the tension. Being more aware and making sure you keep your wrist from being in a stationery bent position for long periods of time will prevent it, as well as taking breaks and resting your hands and wrists.
There is also a surgery that some people get when it gets to the point where the numbing starts to occur. But the surgery is very risky so I did not want to take that chance.

That carpel tunnel bit drives me fucking mad because my dad, a few years back, had to get carpel tunnel surgery in both his wrists, including his left elbow, and has to wear wrist braces to bed often to this day. He experiences extreme pain in both of his hands still, and has struggles with grip strength where he drops items often. No pain medicine has worked for him thus far, and he’s kept opiates at a 10 foot pole for a myriad of reasons I don’t think I’ll have to explain. Seeing ZCH using this as a way to get clicks and clout is absolutely infuriating.

Words can’t truly describe how satisfied I am with someone finally touching on this topic, let alone, jazza, one of the biggest art channels on the site. I was a fan of Zach really early in his career, I remember him having less than 70k subs, I was fan mostly cause of his art style ( cause that’s what art channels really should be for ) and I guess he was quite entertaining sometimes as well (some of his old Reddit vids were actually really funny ) but when he slowly started growing after the pewdiepie shoutout, his unique cool art style started gradually fading away from his channel, which was kind of disappointing but he was still making quality content, now, his personality is just painful to watch and an actual artistic talent seems to be sometimes no where to be found in his vids ( so much so I actually do forget how amazing of an artist he is) and his clickbaity types of videos are obvious bait for views. Vexx, gawx and jazza remain superior, as actual art is being produced by the end of each video

I got diagnosed with carpal syndrome, and beginning rheumatism due to excessive use of my hands about 20 years ago, after many many years of excessive sewing work. I stopped all sewing work for 10 years, while I also supported both wrists with supporters, and pretty much didnt lift anything, didnt do anything of fine details, or straining of my wrists. That worked. I no longer have any pain, no symptoms. I started slowly up with drawing, a little sewing, some yarn work. Now I can draw for many many many hours, with no problems. I can sew and lift, use scissors in hours. I learned my lesson, so when my joints or fingers starts aching, I take a break for a couple of days. And best of all, I no longer just randomly drop stuff because my fingers or hands suddenly lose all function. I used to just drop stuff, like pick up a glass of water, and simply just drop it on the floor... and peeps thought I was clumsy or an idiot :D

I also have carpal tunnel in both wrists and two fingers on my left hand I haven't been able to feel in the last 10 years. Personally I am far more likely to work in night braces, pop over-the-counter painkillers to the equivalent of prescription strength, modify my movement if I have to, and ache for weeks for my craft than set down what I love for so much as a few days. ZHC wasn't in any kind of brace that would restrict wrist movement which is what severe carpal tunnel needs. It barely covered his wrist, is only helpful for the most mild cases of carpal tunnel, and in truth was better suited for a sprain. I don't have words for how angry I was when he came out with that video. After it I blocked his channel because all he makes this clickbait and I'm not willing to feed it.

The reason I know what a zhc video looks like is cause I watched one a lil while back and it didn't even feel art related...blech. Imma be honest too: I can see that you're really good at what you do and that you... sometimes... do your projects sub par. But, knowing that your content is actually real art related stuff and that you try to put out enough content to keep your viewers happy while still keeping the content top notch, I'm 110% ok with the projects not always being as good as I know you could make them if you spent more time on them. Lol 😆 it’s all about target market. ZHC target market when he started out was other beginner artists, so he started out like most other art youtubers would. Beginner artists that actively look for detail art tutorial and tips is minuscule compare to the mass audience who are looking for purely entertainment rather than actual proper boring art tutorials.
He realized this along the way and made the switch and turned himself into an artist version of Mr. Beast that focuses on purely entertainment which appeal to mass market. So of course his early subscribers who sub to him for art related content will find his content unrelatable and clickbaity. He’s doing very very well with this current strat and I don’t see any reason why he would go back to making art tips and piss off his mass market audience.

Hey, Jazza- I know nothing about ZHC before this- but I can tell you as someone who has carpal tunnel in both wrists, and had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand (primary) there’s no way he has carpal tunnel. I’m not a medical expert but I’ve had real experience with it. I couldn’t hold a marker for more than a couple of minutes at its worst- let alone do 24 hours or even hour-long drawing. Either he never had carpal tunnel, made a miraculous recovery, or is in on something hard so he feels nothing. This is insulting to people who actually suffer from this. I’m not saying that carpal tunnel is on a level like cancer or something life-threatening, but it is something you struggle with constantly- day and night- and it sucks.

    • @jmicolm

As a med student, I fully agree. I'm thinking more ganglion cysts, they hurt like a bitch and are incapacitating but only for like two days tops and then they leave as soon as they came, but they can come back if triggered. Drawing can be a trigger and so even then, there's no way he could pull a 24 hour-long drawing. Now, carpal tunnel? I think it's more probable he got misdiagnosed or he just straight up lied... and it's actually really hard to misdiagnose a carpal tunnel.

As an artist who has a similar injury to what he was describing, I'd like to share my experience.
I honestly can't label what I have, I've been to about 8 doctors total (2 orthopedics, 2 nerve doctors, 1 nerve surgeon, 1 pain doctor, 2 physical therapists) in no specific order, just sharing it for confirmation, also excuse any faulty labels I'm translating from my mother language.
At some point I believed I had carpal tunnel, but through more doctor visits, more medical povs, and more tests and scans, we figured out it was a bit bigger than carpal tunnel. I'm saying this bec he might indeed be injured, but just believes a wrong label, I still don't believe his injury and I'll explain why in a bit.
My hand problem does indeed stem from my neck, apparently bec I look down for so long (drawing, using my phone, studying, bad posture, etc) I have pulled muscles front and back and that caused me to lose my neck curve which is putting pressure on the nerves stemming out to my arms.
My guess is that with the pressure plus the fact that I overworked myself drawing when the nerves were alr vulnerable I finally started getting symptoms. I've had pain in my hands that came and went for a few years but only when I overworked myself that it quadrupled and stayed, and only when I started relying on my left hand instead of my injured right that my left got bad as well.
My symptoms are close to carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve syndromes combined, and some unique ones. Pain points are my wrist, knuckles, palm, back of hand, all fingers (not always at once), and if I push myself really bad I feel it in my forearm and sometimes my shoulder. I also got numbness and tingling.
If he's talking about a doctor working on his neck/back then it could very much be similar to my case.
However, I never get my symptoms so suddenly and intensely as he portrayed in his video. It's more of a nagging pain that gets worse over time and use, till I rest it. Sometimes I can feel the pain without using my hands, and sometimes when I feel bad emotionally.
I've been injured since July 2020, it's still here. I had to stop drawing for months till the symptoms got manageable. And even now I can't draw for too long before I feel pain. It ranges tbh sometimes it's 40 minutes other times it's 2 hrs. 100 hrs is def not realistic to me. Even now just typing all this has triggered the pain.
I just thought I'd share to provide some context to the injury part, surely every body reacts differently, but this whole injury thing just irks me.

My late husband had similar issues & the more he'd use his limbs, the worse it would get. There was pain & numbness in his arms & sometimes his legs (he walked at least 12 miles every day so he used his legs more than a lot of people who have more office based careers). He finally got the tests I asked for when he started getting numbness in his arms/hands while driving.
It turned out that the space his nerves traveled through was too small in one area for both the arms & legs. It was going to take 2 separate surgeries to widen those spaces. For the arms, they'd be going in through the neck &, since his arms/hands were worse, that's what they'd do first. They'd need to put a plate in his neck at the end of the surgery. He woke up with surgery pain, of course, but the pain & numbness in his arms & hands that he'd been living with for years & years was gone immediately. His neurosurgeon was spectacular.
He had to wear a neck brace & couldn't drive for 2 months but he was thrilled with the results. He was on light duty for another 2-3 months after that so scheduling the 2nd surgery was something he put off because his legs weren't nearly as annoying to him. He fell asleep while driving 4.5 years ago on his way home from work one day before he could decide to do the 2nd surgery so he never did get to experience no pain & numbness like he had wanted. I wouldn't have ever guessed what the real problem had been. We had no clue the intermittent legs & near constant arms were the same problem in different areas of the body.

@@srtatropicalia That's exactly what I struggled most with. I'd always used drawing as a coping mechanism, and have wanted to make it into my job. I drew almost everyday, I couldn't imagine life without it. So being completely unproductive and also unable to cope with the emotional pain of having to stay away from art made my life miserable for a while. I draw when I'm sad, I'm sad bec I can't draw; an unfortunate cycle.
Moreover, a month or so after the injury I started a really stressful and vital year at school that required an insane amount of workload which didn't give me a chance to heal.
I felt completely helpless and a disappointment for the most part.
I can easily say it was the darkest year of my life. But it ended, my grades weren't enough to get into the "stable job" college my parents wanted, so I got into art school instead. I like to think it was meant to be.
Though not as much as I used to, I can make art now. It hurts, but hurts less than before, so I'd like to think there's hope! Your comment made me feel understood, so thank you for that.
