    Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

    I was surprised that these flowers also attract hummingbirds. I've planted Salvia in my yard for a few years just to successfully attract hummingbirds, and last year just happened to plant Bachelor buttons for the first time and they were a hit with the hummingbirds. :)

    Thank for the info. I just discovered batchelor buttons and was going to wait until spring to start the seeds here in georgia. I'm going to give fall planting a try!! Thanks again!

    Hey I'm from Ireland, here we also call them cornflowers as well as bachelors button but I'm obsessed with these beautiful flowers, they were one of the first flowers I grew and I immediately fell in love, I use them for teas as well as soaps and candles ❤️❤️

      @@praisejesus8121 I make the candle or soap or whatever I'm making and before it fully sets I'll use the petals as a decoration on them, I do the same with food I had them on pancakes the other morning so nice just make sure it's safe with no pesticides

    I’ve watched some of your videos before but just realized KY meant Kentucky not -ky like a suffix (although I don’t know if it’s an actual suffix). Hahaha!!. 2) love that you grow flowers just to grow them AND teach us about it. 3) I’m growing these in zone 8b in Texas. I started them from seed this Jan or so but I’ll try fall planting instead because mine seem to have very weak stems AND they are short like you said they would be!

    I should have found this video BEFORE I started these seeds 🤦🏾‍♀️ 6a Ohio trial and error lol

      They'll probably still grow and bloom, but likely won't get quite as tall. Good luck!

    Hi! Thank you for the video! Should I place a plastic cover over my tray? Do they prefer humidity during germination?

      Yes! I put plastic wrap over my pot and they sprouted VERY quickly 5 days later

    Oh my gosh congratulations on 10k subscribers. When did you reach your goal?
    I love these pretty little flowers. I started a wildflower pack late in the season and they are doing great. They started flowering two weeks ago.

    I’m looking for advice on growing the flowers and foliage for my nieces wedding the first weekend in March. She’s wanting lots of foliage with touches of white and peach. I’ve purchased lisanthus, attriplex, tulips and others but I was hoping you could tell me when I should start the seeded things that typically bloom later than March like amaranths and poppies. I’m in Arkansas zone 8 so very similar to you except we rarely see snow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

      Getting blooms in early March is really difficult. Even my tulips and daffodils dont usually start blooming until the end of March. I would check out some of the other videos about hardy annual flowers. I'll be planting a lot of those in my garden very soon.

    Can I start these under grow lights for spring planting? If I can when should I start them? I’m in zone 8

    • @TONYAwiththeflowers
      @TONYAwiththeflowers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never tried starting them with grow lights, but I'm sure it would work. I usually use the winter sowing method at the end of January. 🌱🌱🌱
