The stuff you mentioned was icing on the shit sandwich
@@WrestleJuice Well the spinoff brand idea was probably always going to be a non-starter. It took them like a decade to get a 3rd brand integrated properly into their schedule (start of WWECW to establishment of NXT as a real brand). But just in terms of the Invasion story we got, it probably would have been possible to do a Babyface WCW faction led by Shane if it had Sting and Goldberg alongside face DDP and Booker. Then the big WCW heels like the nWo could have come in later to keep the story going.
I realize this isn't exactly the same, but somebody wanting an Attitude brand in 2024, is the equivalent of wanting a 'WWWF' brand with booking from 1973 in it in 1998. Also...the dirty little secret is most of the Atittude Era booking kinda was bad, and saved by having four A+++++ talents in Austin, Rock, Foley, and McMahon to save it. Attitude era was the kind of bad that you can’t take your eyes off. Only a select few tv shows (usually reality shows) nail this. This is what WWE needs to achieve
Kinda funny I always felt Andrew Tate was playing a wrestling character. He never felt genuine to me and I never took him serious. About the WCW Attitude idea. I don't think it's a good idea to relegate all of the older talent to one show. All that will do is create a disparity among the fans and prevent younger/newer talents from getting over. You have to mix it up for the sake of transitioning to the next big thing. If you're not going to watch an entire promotion because you're offended by one tweet, you're going to be watching precious little wrestling my friend lol
Positive to think the invasion angle would've been better with the stars of WCW is the fact how well mania 18 turned out. It's essentially WCW vs WWF. The negative about the angle without the stars is they didnt book those guys from the invasion good enough and the reason they started it was because of injuries. Both awful ideas. They should've just went with Jericho vs Austin for the next ppv and either do Rock vs Austin at summerslam or Angle vs Austin(under different contexts this time). The angle for invasion ideally works better at or around survivor series and it helps it leads into wrestlemania without being dragged out.
If you're going to stop watching AEW because one guy retweeted Andrew Tate, make sure to stay consistent; WWE do business with the Saudi government, Logan Paul and are currently fighting multiple sexual misconduct lawsuits.
What I think would have worked best for the Invasion angle if WWE could have found a tv station to put WCW Nitro then let Shane in kayfabe be the owner of WCW and actually run WCW as it's own show and treat it like it's own promotion and a year or two down the line do an actual invasion storyline
@Roric_The_Red WCW losing TNT and TBS is the reason WWE was able to buy them but if WCW could have kept being on tv Eric Bischoff and some investor would have probably bought WCW and then WCW would have been shot in Las Vegas
@@Jamessmith-xk3fh no I mean they literally tried to get WCW any sort of TV time after they bought it and they could not find anyone. At the time wrestling was on a downturn in popularity
I imagine a lot of what's not exactly earning Ricochet social media points is that retweeting Andrew Tate gives off the same kind of energy that guy from the Forgotten Sons embodied when he worked in his group's catchphrase into a tweet endorsing Trump back in 2020. Which makes it even more of a misfire considering Ricochet responded to that situation with generally the same stance as KO, Sami, and Mustafa Ali. So you'd think that he'd be more self-aware about what he posts. Not to mention that retweets on their own supply no context to what else the person is posting, so to those who have no idea what's going on, it comes off as Ricochet endorsing Andrew Tate and nothing else. With the viewpoints of the general circle of the IWC, it feels lame to those who caught wind of what Ricochet was up to and to those unaware, it can feel like a sucker punch, a "never meet your heroes" sort of moment.
The ONLY way the Invasion storyline would have worked any better would have been if they found some way to keep Nitro going for 6 more months, or at least until most of the contracts had expired or enough to keep WWF from shedding too much cash. The first group to invade? ECW, with Stephanie. She basically picks a leader or two for the frontline guys, and maybe some of those ex-WCW / ECW guys could have joined to enforce their ranks. Like the Outsiders, but with greater numbers, they're running around, stirring shit up. Eventually, Vince is like.. nope. Sorry Steph, you're done. And says some crazy 2000s Vinnie Mac shit, like "I'm putting a hit on my own daughter!" Steph is cornered with the ECW / WCW guys (like Jericho, Guerrero, and [REDACTED]), then the lights go out and the Nitro graphic plays. They would have flipped Nitro to Wednesdays and cancelled Thunder at this point. Shane shows up with the troops, and it's all out warfare. THIS is when War Games actually comes back, and we see 2 5 v 5 matches at Survivor Series. Elimination style, because WWE would still be doing that classic SS match up. We'd get the Hogan, Nash, Sting, Flair, Hall pop and WWE would be running the match, screwing the WCW team. Then, WCW champ Booker T comes out with DDP and Goldberg, the "new" WCW that joins forces with the old guard and finally tilts the scale in WCW's favour. But it doesn't last, as the old guys basically do TNA's Main Event Mafia in WWE, siding with Vince and all just acting like douchebags. They talk about the private jets and the limos and the girls, and that's how WWE wins the Invasion angle. Turncoats and traitors.
WWE Attitude would be SICK. Make it TV-14. KO, Rhea, and LA Knight are your anchors. Go a step further and revive the nWo and have the Attitude brand invade the other brands from time to time. Get Joey Styles to be lead commentator if he's willing to come out of retirement. Heyman can have a hand in the creative. Ohhhhh weeeee.
Steve would you be down for an interview sometime (when it could fit your schedule)? Trying to get into the sports creation sphere like you and Larson are, my content is predominately basketball and football but i really appreciate the art of pro wrestling, had a video not long ago about the new day's turn
Ricochet needs to drop his name and just be Trevor Mann. He’s a good dude in real life…but as long as the likes of Ospreay is there he will be doing a worse version of that as a face. Be a heel my boy!!! You are undeniable in ring. You got the looks. You got the girl. You got the squad, possibly…do it.
For a man, Allegedly is as good as Guilty, marks are pathetic. The only relevance of Austin in the WM40 main event is the 316 in the 1,316 in Romans Reign
Yeah, I don't get why people are adamant about Austin being involved in that. Undertaker makes sense because Roman beat him 7 years ago, and he came back for revenge. I guess Austin could've come and gotten revenge on The Rock for beating him 20 years ago, but that feels kinda silly.
Same people going after Ricochet define Vince McMahon and WWE after they again hired someone similar to Laurinaitis... Tribalism masquerading as righteousness
I think AEW has a serious character development problem and even further it’s hard for them to distinguish heels from each other. The way Jack Perry, The Bucks and now ricochet have basically the same heel style in comparison to how generally Gunther, Dom and Solo are pretty distinguishable.
even if starks is rejecting creative its a piece of shit move by Tony Khan to have him sitting there. He fucked him over for the gcw show, its fucking childish. Also Penta is the one that was going around saying they're signing with WWE, but his brother is getting punished for that.
I dont care about the Andrew Tate stuff and I dont think Ricochet becoming a heel is a bad thing, but I just dont think he's good at it. At the end of the day Twiter is cool but he needs to deliver on the mic and his mic work is still horrific. AEW needs to take the mic away from him and just let him do flips.
I'm sorry, but it feels like Ricochet winning all the time in AEW cheapens the whole brand to me. He was a bum for the longest time in WWE, and we're supposed to believe he can win the Continental Classic? I'm happy people are starting to enjoy his character. 100% agree with the take regarding WWE’s issue with finding creative for those that have accomplished everything. Roman will soon find himself in that spot once the Bloodline story either concludes or runs out of steam. One of the reasons why I’d like to see more movement of talent amongst different promotions. For example Randy Orion who I’ve been a fan of since 2004. I can’t bring myself to be excited about anything that man has done because he’s done it all. Even the eventual match up with Cody, kinda already been done when he faced Edge a few years back.

What I think would have worked best for the Invasion angle if WWE could have found a tv station to put WCW Nitro then let Shane in kayfabe be the owner of WCW and actually run WCW as it's own show and treat it like it's own promotion and a year or two down the line do an actual invasion storyline
Outside of the Shane stuff, they did try to get a TV slot for WcW. It's just no one wanted it.
Ricochet is a phenomenal talent, hes just a doof also
I imagine a lot of what's not exactly earning Ricochet social media points is that retweeting Andrew Tate gives off the same kind of energy that guy from the Forgotten Sons embodied when he worked in his group's catchphrase into a tweet endorsing Trump back in 2020.
And says some crazy 2000s Vinnie Mac shit, like "I'm putting a hit on my own daughter!"
Steph is cornered with the ECW / WCW guys (like Jericho, Guerrero, and [REDACTED]), then the lights go out and the Nitro graphic plays.
Just thought of this. Rico’s Twitter/X heel work doesn’t match his on screen character.
But he's so very bald.
BALD!!!
pleas link me that mic steve 🙏
Hollyland Lark M2
Ricochet needs to drop his name and just be Trevor Mann. He’s a good dude in real life…but as long as the likes of Ospreay is there he will be doing a worse version of that as a face. Be a heel my boy!!! You are undeniable in ring. You got the looks. You got the girl. You got the squad, possibly…do it.
I like your thAYnos shirt
Seriously was Andrew convicted or accused cuz I’m not a fan but idk if ur opinion is correct
On videos he admitted to sleeping with 16 or 15 year olds
When it comes to Trevor... "Any publicity is good publicity"
#WrestleJuice
undertaker is also the true final boss of wwe
For a man, Allegedly is as good as Guilty, marks are pathetic.
The only relevance of Austin in the WM40 main event is the 316 in the 1,316 in Romans Reign
Yeah, I don't get why people are adamant about Austin being involved in that. Undertaker makes sense because Roman beat him 7 years ago, and he came back for revenge. I guess Austin could've come and gotten revenge on The Rock for beating him 20 years ago, but that feels kinda silly.
You actually don't have to say allegedly when you talk about Andrew Tate he was convicted and sent to jail
Timeout buddy… did you honestly defend Andrew Tate? You’re better than that! Smh
Same people going after Ricochet define Vince McMahon and WWE after they again hired someone similar to Laurinaitis... Tribalism masquerading as righteousness
Andrew Tate is an idiot weirdo the tweet he retweeted is the most tame Andrew Tate tweet probably the tweet isn’t as bad as most but I I get the hate
1:27 did you call a person, whose profession you cover, a nerd.
So what does that make you?
I like the idea of CM Punk with his Wrestling daughters.
17:00
Wooo I made the video
I think AEW has a serious character development problem and even further it’s hard for them to distinguish heels from each other. The way Jack Perry, The Bucks and now ricochet have basically the same heel style in comparison to how generally Gunther, Dom and Solo are pretty distinguishable.
I agree
I love you Steve but your way too soft on AEW sometimes
The video ended but I can still hear him 😂
Cool hot take
even if starks is rejecting creative its a piece of shit move by Tony Khan to have him sitting there. He fucked him over for the gcw show, its fucking childish. Also Penta is the one that was going around saying they're signing with WWE, but his brother is getting punished for that.
Pretty alpha to fingerblast yourself on camera ngl
Hahahaahahahahah stop
I dont care about the Andrew Tate stuff and I dont think Ricochet becoming a heel is a bad thing, but I just dont think he's good at it. At the end of the day Twiter is cool but he needs to deliver on the mic and his mic work is still horrific. AEW needs to take the mic away from him and just let him do flips.
So many crybabies cannot realize how much attention they grant 😂
I'm sorry, but it feels like Ricochet winning all the time in AEW cheapens the whole brand to me. He was a bum for the longest time in WWE, and we're supposed to believe he can win the Continental Classic? I'm happy people are starting to enjoy his character. I just can't buy him as a serious competitor (I reserve the right to change this opinion at a later date)
Making light of Andrew Tate's victims lol. I'm no fan of Tate but thats just cringe buddy
Hot Take: The ricochet hate is from the ppl who wanted him to fail when he left. He's genuinely doing better work than ever and ppl are screaming buried corny etc. ALL WRESTLERS are nerds some just don't open their mouths, and no wrestler has really "won" an internet debate. I'm fully back on the Ricochet train💯
Nah. I used to like him but he's shown himself to be a very unlikeable douche that can't take criticism or insults
Too bad he can’t cut a promo to save his life
Found ricochets burner lol
Yea I laughed so hard when that commenter claimed what ricochet is doing is “disgusting”.
The pearl clutching is hilarious
@@donniesdeals I genuinely thought he was mid or worse in WWE (only been back since WM39) but he's actually being a character and if he's a dweeb irl then why not lean into it on camera, and it's working💯
7:06 oh how about not going backstage to wwe a bunch while working for aew. How about going on a podcast saying he don't give a fuck who didn't like it. That's unprofessionalism 101
