Bruh after a year I finished the game a couple of days ago and I thought "Well I can watch speed runs now. 30 minutes runs should be insane" To my surprise there were runs of less than 4 minutes... Impressive stuff
@@lostmarimo The scroll of revivify and box got glitched to the mountain pass entrance in the goblin camp. The burning box breaks, out tumbles Shadowheart, and gets revived automatically. The weird thing is that she’s not even mad at the player.
@@DanTheManGruen If you don’t know, then I won’t immediately spoil it. It is part of Gale‘s personal questline, and the fastest way to finish the game, which is what any% runs are all about. The standard story progression is to talk him out of it.
By the way, this no longer counts as completing the game. You don't get the Honor Mod achievement for blowing up Gale. Checked it out today. The announcer even says at the end "this is one of the possible events, but it is not your path" Or in simpler words "complete the game normally dog". You can also load the game from last safe and it's steel honor mode. I think over time Gale's explosion will no longer be included in any%
I was wondering, thanks haha I watched that saying, out loud, i'm sure that glitch has been patched. First one in the Nautiloid was patched ages ago for sure. Real speedrun would be doing it with the current version of the game, not forcing to an old version to enable defunct glitches.
She never went to the underdark She Shadowboxed directly to the goblincamp-mountainpass, from there wirh a couple of jumps to elminster in the mountainpass, from there to.start of act 2 and there the second and last shadowbox directly to the end of act 2 No underdark needed ^^

@@beeboop5158 This uses patch 2, so a really old version, meaning that many of the glitches shown here simply do not work in the current state. Just fyi. You should do some reading/watching guides before really digging into the training runs. These people spent hundreds of hours micromanaging every single click and move of the mouse. GDQ has some great speedruns, around 45 minutes. They have enough time to explain the details and strategies used. Very entertaining.

You won't these have all been patched many many patches age. It's not doable unless you install the base game, and no patches, which is difficult as anywhere legal you download from will include the latest patch in the installer, other than the officail bluray set (which i think has a patch on the current sets too..)

There are videos explaining all the steps. I'm not sure if the videos are of the same person here, but they explain well exploits and every step to get it. This is fascinating.
So Patch 7 updated to where finishing the Elder Brain in Act 2 counts as clearing the game? I always thougt taking to ending credits was what counted, Patch 6 never gave Critical Hit or Foehammer achievements for that ending. But should count in a way.
different category, there is a No Gale category that doesn't allow the gale bomb on act2... this category allows it, you have only to get to the credits
😢 no, i used the techniques here for honor mode, but it took me many hours to use shadowboxing correctly. It doesnt count. For honor mode you'll have to reach act 3 and trigger a Couple of contrrol Points
I had glitch where I killed Ester in act two then when to the astral plane and saw her dead inventory on a dead githyanki. I wonder if you can do that with any npc. Like collecting nether stones for all act runs, but I think you need to kill the npc though. Or not??? I am on on playstion... I do wonder if there is an npc inventory swap out there.
Really? You can choose any of the companions as playable in the Origin screen. Each one of them have individual stories and different cutscenes based on their perspectives, and even different outcomes to their endings.
Does suicide bombing actually count as a victory considering the hoard of mindflayers you just unleashed on the multiverse? For example on honor mode unless Gales all the way to the actual final battle in Act 3 and then he blows up it won't register. IDK I'd count it if it weren't for leaving all those mindflayers around but it seems like a pyrrhic victory at best.
When he blows up he takes out the Elder Brain, so at least the mind flayers are temporarily wild and can be dealt with easier by adventurers and guards.
@@GeorgeWashingtonLaserMusket We keep punking mindflayers left, right, and center. As did the citizens of Baldur‘s Gate. The problem was the Netherbrain juicing them up, making them essentially a new breed of mindflayer. Remove the brain, and it becomes much more manageable.

@@Sosozanyway Not really accurate. This is watching a race that has a predefined starting point and ending point with the goal of getting there as quickly as possible. This is the agreed upon rules before the race started. There are other categories with more rules (checkpoints in a race, if you will), but this is not one of them.

Yes, you can read the first sentence in the first chapter, then skip to the last sentence of the last chapter, but nobody is going to believe you read the book. And, if the goal is to just get from point A to point B as quickly as possible, it's not an achievement at all. Unless you think going from the first page to the last is impressive, I guess. 🤷🏾. Again, it's just strange

Shadowboxing. Tl:dr burning dead corpse of shadowheart gets thrown into act 2 endzone, dead people cant talk so gale gets teleported there.

She Shadowboxed directly to the goblincamp-mountainpass, from there wirh a couple of jumps to elminster in the mountainpass, from there to.start of act 2 and there the second and last shadowbox directly to the end of act 2

Without giving spoilers, Gale can cause it legitimately
Gale has a special option to destroy the Elder Brain there instead of going into the Ketheric fight, so it ends the game.

They're all transformed anyway when the final battle starts.
