when you land ult you only need to auto once, by the time you go for a 2nd auto the target already has 3 stacks of blight so if you q fast enough you can still get another blight proc to use e on before they're able to move
This specific combo is with PtA, so I autod once before the combo to get the first stack in, then 2 more to finish proccing it. It helps your burst a ton. But yeah in a regular combo Ult, 1 Auto into E - 3autos WQ is how it usually goes
I've heard some people play it but gotta be honest its not too enjoyable laning with them unless they know how to apply proper pressure. I'd even say I prefer AP twitch support over those other ones
No its takes 1.5 seconds for the blights to appear normally from R, main goal of this combo is to WQ as soon as you finish proccing PtA to get the instant burst in. 1 auto beforehand and a 2nd auto as soon as you shoot your R, then the 3rd final PtA proc auto right before your WQ.
Also don't trust stacks coming from your ult. Because If enemy managed to cleanse it or build tenacity, your ult will not apply any stacks. That's the weakness of ap varus. If enemy takes tenacity rune and buy tenacity boots. Your ult will apply 1 stack. Or your enemy can take cleanse to counter you too.

Do you max QWE on AP Varus? or WQE?
Max order is QWE, you prioritize proccing blights with Q over E too for max burst.
