Outfitting a John Deere 4940 Using a Rotator! SPREADER to SPRAYER!

One of our great customers called to transfer out a fertilizer box to the sprayer boom setup on a John Deere 4940. The ‪@NRCIndustries‬ 50 ton sliding rotator worked effortlessly to complete the job flawlessly.

Makes us wonder how they ever worked with the old 650 and 750 Holmes trucks! The remote makes everything much more efficient and safe at the same time. And yes, the footage from the boom turned out awesome! 👍🏻

Thank you! We've been swapping out boxes and sprayers like this for years at the local Co-ops. Now they have their own overhead crane inside of their new shop, so we're mostly servicing the private farms now for this type of work.

Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the videos! We're always trying to keep them to something viewers will find interesting. Im not 100% sure, but I think the tank/boom assembly weighs around 12-14k lbs. We have lifted all different sizes over the years and sometimes it's hard to keep track. Our new truck coming this summer will have a scale built in, so it will be nice know some of these weights going forward.

what is that compartment on the top of the tool box under the pylon

That is actually the battery box. NRC Industries used to mount them in a compartment inside of the big tunnel tool box, but started mounting them on top like this shortly before we took delivery of this truck. I personally love it because it frees up more box space, and the batteries and all the wiring inside look as new as they did 5 years ago (weatherproof, no corrosion).
