On reflection I truly believe that these performance by Amira of O Mio Babbino Caro plus her duet with Gissur Pall Gissurarson of Ave Maria was when she truly became of age as a soprano. It was when the world finally stood up and realised her immense talent. These performances for me still rank as some of her very best, when her voice had strengthened following her appearance with Andre Rrieu, yet was then so pure. However the world then still to wait to recognise the beauty she would later become. By that time she had become a princess if not an angel.

Oh...Larry Whorley, opera singer, composer, critic, conductor, music expert, musician, maestro...NOT. The kid is 12 years old. Perhaps you should take a lesson in humility.
+Larry Whorley Also, a little more rehearsal time would work for the orchestra. They were a little loose. And this fellow singing the duet of Ave Maria was either back-phrasing (which is a jerk move) or he was lost. Anyway, Amira is just an incredible vocalist... after the chorus interlude she seemed to take her vocal performance to a new level, I've never seen or heard that happen mid performance before. As if she learned something or gained something which gave her more vocal power and depth. Just unbelievable to witness.
Ive seen professional opera singers mess up their breathing ..Often!
And even miss their notes completely...just air. Divas!
Amira is neither professional, then, and is just freakin 12 yrs old, still goes to school, why would you even bother to criticise??
She actually sang Beautifully here, pure magic.
You should be feeling sorry for Larry. Someone giving this comment after hearing such a heavenly performance must be severely depressed.
Don't worry about the orchestra. If Amira continues to progress like this she will only work with the best of the best;-)
