HOA Fees can be a thousand dollars or more monthly and they go up every year ! And once you buy a home you are trapped forever paying your HOA Fees in addition to your mortgage each month and God forbid you have to sell , there aren’t enough dummies in the whole state of California who will buy from you ! 😩👎🏻

There is no HOA in Prescott that is near $1,000 a month. The most expensive community with a substantial amount of Dorn homes is Prescott Lakes, and the HOA fees (including club fees) are between $200 and $250 (roughly). Other Dorn communities tend to be closer to $50 to $70 a month. I am not sure where you found the $1,000 figure.

I got ensnared into that trap in Palm Springs California and Palm Desert and LaQuinta too....couldn't get rid of them and HOA fees just soared...
Plus you lose all of your constitutional rights once you get duped into buying into an HOA. All the lawyers specialize in protecting the HOA and no one is there to protect the homeowners.
If someone on the board is out to get you and run you our, terrorize you, you are trapped.
Nadty control freaks and thieves get on the board and from thereon manipulate votes to stay in power.
I could write a book on this subject.
