- Hi I'm Dave Grounds, president and owner of Dorn Homes and I'd like to welcome you to our family owned company. Dorn Homes has been building in Arizona for over 44 years. We build all over the state of Arizona, so wether you're up in Sedona, Prescott, or Tubac... come visit us.
We spent all these years seeking out the greatest charming small towns in the state and we've studied the best locations in those towns and that's where we built our neighborhoods and our communities and our beautiful model centers.
When you go to these small towns you'll discover they're all different, the history is different, the architechture is different... if you go to Sedona you'll notice the beautiful Red Rocks and as you walk up to the Dorn Home you'll notice that we've designed our homes to fit in and celebrate what makes Sedona special. It's that natural rock that's on the outside of our elevation, it's the wood the organic materials, that contemporary southwest architecture.. we celebrate the location.
You come to Prescott, you'll notice the craftsman architecture the prairie architecture, the beautiful front porchs, we reall spend a lot of time studying the history the culture, the architecture of these towns, and you'll notice that they're designed into our homes.
Why does Dorn Homes exist? We exist becasue we love to thrill our clients. When you walk into a Dorn Home for the first time and you open that door and you look through that foyer out at the back of the house to the wall of glass, you're wandering through the house and you see the high ceilings, the great cabinet configurations, the flexible living spaces, organic materials... it's a different type of home. I'm a disabled veteran and wanted to have a house built in Prescott but Walden Farms there wanted 20% down even though I was going to use my VA for the first time to finance. I was so excited and chose a lot and everything else. After over an hour, they told me 20% down, and during the coronavirus. I'm unsure of my future so how can I trust Dorn Homes future. This was the only one of Dorns subdivisions that required that much down. Left Arizona with my tail between my legs. upset and feeling very defeated.
Sounds like a tight company!!

Unfortunately affordable isnt in the vocabulary of any developer or council member in the prescott area much less AZ at all truthfully. The town and developers care more about rich new residents than their own. Young locals such as myself can barely make rent even working more than minim wage, 40+ hrs a week. They are intent on pushing out the working class
Can you build a small home in Seligman or do you only cater to the rich people?
Basically all these developers cater to the rich and well off. Prescott has become over priced and overrated. Most of us young locals will only ever dream of owning our own home in our own town. They care more about new residents
