and those 25's have a pullstart issue where they need to be tightened. as you can see it isnt all the way shut. very easy fix. also not the easiest motors to tune but when you get it right god the go hard

I work for a yamaha marine dealer and the 15's 20's 25's and 2 cylander 30's are still being produced. the discontinued the 3 cylander 30 last year and are now dropping more and more 2 stroke protable motors. but 15's sell like hotcakes in australia. i am doing one up a the moment which i picked up for 150 bucks. the carby was off it so i cleaned it and put it back together and it ran very well. motor was just very mistreated and has a lot of corosion but nothing beyond repair. i have fully rebuilt the gearbox with new bearings, seals and races and gears because it would not hold gear oil and the gears were snapped. but now is immacualte and i am now working on the powerhead.
Picked one of these up for a killer deal, had been sitting a year. started right up but didnt have any low end. cleaned the carbs and ran great for about 5 minutes in the water and carbs got gunked back up. I ordered the 2 fuel lines that go to and from the fuel filter, anything else i should check for that could be letting trash in? the tank line is brand new as well as the tank. gonna check out the fuel pump as well when i pull it apart.
What is that part called you stuck your fingers under at 2:11? Should it have water coming out of it? I just got my first boat and I'm trying to learn about the motor and keep it protected. I got an 2006 14ft Panga with an 06 Yamaha 25hp two stroke.
I have the exact motor and it just started sputtering and stalling at low speed. Sounds like it's wants to backfire. New plugs, new fuel filter and new fuel hose and ball. Ran seafood through last tank of gas. Help.....
I purchased a 8 four stroke 2010 Yamaha.It worked some days .But it wont start like no fuel so it will be changed in a Tohatsu again next season.A new tohatsu wich i have before, they start.
Hi I have a 2004 25MSHC model im curious if your gear shift handle has any free play? Mine has some and i think its disallowing the engine from starting? Also how come I cant find anywhere a replace,ment fuel pump?
I would recommend that you buy parts from boats.net and also there is a safety feature on the pull start cover. it's a small rod that locks thepull rope so you can't pull the pull rope. It could be in the locked position and that's why you can't start the engine when it's in neutral
+Laheim Zak the fuel pump is located on the bottom of the carburetor so in the diagram and boats.net you must look at the carburetor section. the fuel pump is built in with the bottom bowl of the carburetor

Actually you can still by the 2 strokes in the Bahamas. They sell them dirt cheap too. I would love to pick up a new 15 and 25.
yes they sell them overseas but not in the US. last year production was 2010

jack oliver I live in Australia and can confirm about the 15’s I have one and most people I know have 2 stroke 15’s lol

I have a Yamaha 25 autolube ,but i did not Get the deadman switch when i GOT IT.......is IT nesessary when you have IT in a stand like this?

to locate the mechanism just followed the cable that runs to the cover of your pull starter. You have to take your hood off

2008 with mostly freshwater but it has been used in salt. He asking 2k
clark hall they usually go for 2200. anything under 2k is a good deal if its in good shape

I got an 09 one just like this for 1100 bucks that runs, just needs carbs cleaned. has about 20 hours on it. but that was a real good deal.
