It's stunning to realize the similiarities of the prefix be- to German. Even though we don't have beluistert and bekeken ( both would be with ge-), in many cases it's the same logic behind between transitive and inteansitive concept, for example to answer an e-mail: eine e-Mail beantworten wheras to answer: antworten with the participle geantwortet in comparison to eine e-Mail beantwortet. In many other verbs the same. It's so clearly visible that Franconians and Saxons where of a common offspring among themselves long before Germany, the Netherlands or Belgium even existed.
