All northbound thru hike with a Waterton Monument finish.
After hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2017 I was considering the PCT ( Pacific Crest Trail ) instead I ended up hiking the CDT northbound, it was an adventure of a lifetime !

Funny how we know the sufferings of the long trails but all we remember are the awesomeness and long to be at home on the trail again.❤️ I did the CDT in 1980 and it ruined me for life. I’ll NEVER be civilized again…and I’m happiest on trail.❤️ May the winds be at your back Baskets ( and Garden State!).

2wow that river crossing ,look rough ,how far river did you go?
We went pretty far and the river got wide and very rough water, going up there was a log over a waterfall, which looked deadly if we fell, I rerouted this part of trail via backtracking/ side trail and road walked to Yellowstone after watching my friend barely make it across , it was the 2nd scariest section of the hike after the San Juan’s descents

A lot of water
Only a few are bad though

Yall went into the Hot Springs in Gila? Those pools are full of an extremely danerous bacteria 😂, literally eat your brain. I assume youre fine but jeesh 😬 scary stuff
Yea This doesn't mean that natural hot springs are dangerous, but in order to avoid infection you shouldn't submerge your face in the water, I’ve been to different hot springs all over the country, I’ve learned not to submerge my face under the water
