Just been catching up with your recent videos. 15th Street just gets better, the level of detail is outstanding. Gotta build myself another Florida based layout.
Thanks Lee. I started searching on Google maps for the area I model. Its close to me , so I can go and take pics of the area. Also Lance Mindheim's books on switching layouts is a great guide.
Hi, nice layout. That Duncan bloke must be a real tightwad to work for. Porta loo cooking in the sun and no sun shade on the forklift, just great in the swelteringly hot Florida sun. On the subject of bricks and blocks. When they are delivered by boxcar are they loaded in two layers high by two wide for the entire boxcar? Or does the answer differ depending upon the pallets being solid or hollow bricks or blocks? Where did you get the Porta loos by the way? A great industrial area detail. What material did you use for your plate steel loads?
Sweet video Mike! Your videos are always so inspirational and make me eager to get working on things. Have you looked into the Athearn SoundCars? I think one would sound awesome on your layout, especially with all the great switching action on 15th street. Thanks for sharing, Ethan
Another amazing video, Mike! I may have missed this in an earlier video but what material did you use to make the cover for your lumber load? It looks fantastic!!
Another awesome video Mike! Your eye for detail is amazing, and your skill in scenery work is something to inspire all of us, thanks so much for sharing your great looking model railroad with us, Chuck
Great video, I saw Deryk's video about Mike's passing, may he rest in peace. I may never have known Mike, but from what I see and hear, he was an exceptional modeler, congratulations on the Model Railroader feature of your layout. Love the videos, hope they stay up on youtube, they are an excellent resource and inspiration! Best Wishes, Patrick
GREAT video Mike!! just a quick question for you....How did you make your business signs? are they just printed off the computer or are they a sticker? Thanks -Jay
Thanks Jay. Most of the signs are from Google images. The sign on Mullins Lumber is from a business card. The key is after printing sign, I take a black marker and go around the edges. Mike
I just love the detail on your layou! and the switching ops sessions are very realistic too. At 3:13 who makes those Palm trees?. Thanks for sharing. RT
Another great switching vid Mike. The lumber yard looks superb for how minimal and clean it is. Great work. Looking forward to more switching.
Thanks. Seems like lately I am going back over all my structures and redoing. All are scratch built except for one Pikestuff klt.
Thank you, I got some ideas from your layout I'm putting in a lumber yard I like the Georgia Pacific car and the racks of lumber.
My understanding is that KU4PC unfortunately passed from cancer a few years ago
😢😢 I'm sorry to hear that
Super cool video Mike! Really like your eye for details!
Thanks for watching. Mike

Good one, plenty to do here..
Beautiful
Great layout! Do you have a web site or still photos where we can see more (including trackplan!)?
Great job! Congratulations

The trees are a kit from Heart of the South. They are museum quality trees. takes a lot of work to construct. Mike
