Probably my favourite of the podcasts so far, and I'm pretty sure I've sat and watched around 70 of them. Rufus' Celebrity Juice story has cemented my love for him. Great guy.
I've been watching loads of the podcasts- some of them lose energy after about 30-40 mins but this was lively and interesting all the way through- one of my favourites. This is one where Herring can sit back a bit and indulge his guest.
I got all eggcited when I thought Rich said a future guest would be Plinny (!?) I already like Rufus but as the RHLSTP (rhlstp) went on, I grew to admire and respect him more - a truly Great interview. I've already pledged but may have to raise my donation in appreciation
Jude Adamson he did take the job. The 2016 RSC production of Don Quixote. He lives in London the show was in Stratford Upon Avon and the RSC usually just pay a standard 'company wage' across the board for all company members (actors) unless you are a big name I guess. He was rather good and is a genuinely lovely man.
I think I've got the most old fashioned name. Abraxas. 1000s of years old and according to some, the oldest name that we know of (I have my doubts) It's still unclear where it's from. Some say it's Hindu, some say it's Greek, some even say it's Hebrew.
Damnit to fuckery, Richard, I bought into your phantom 'RHLSTP' call & response and said it loudly on the bus. Maybe real success lies as leader of a cult.
What's with the Stewart Lee haircut? Is this a follow-up to Hitler moustache - are you trying to reclaim hair that covers you eyes for society as well?
I only know Rufus from his time on Celebrity juice... I thought that he was very lucky to be in the show. I thought he wasn't funny and I never understood why he got the gig on celebrity juice. I thought he was a mediocre stand up at best. Never found him funny. Then I listened to this and he does seem like a nice guy and funny. I agree with him about him not having a role in the show for sure. He was left with nothing really to do and this made him seem like the guy that wasn't as funny as the host. It says a lot about him for asking what exactly his role was and wanting a more..... I think he is naive to think that they wanted to give him a hard time over the kim situation if they really valued him. If they did they would have handled it differently and supported him. Obviously they didn't care and hoped he would leave. After watching this I Googled him and interestingly, he divorced the wife he was with at this time - interesting after him saying he was very busy and he didn't have a lot of time at home - I really enjoyed this interview and watched it several times.
Jury has always been out on Hound for me bordering on negative, but I thought I'd give this a chance with an open mind. Impressed by the kind words he afforded to Ricky Grover and Leigh Francis. However, I get the impression this lad thinks a lot more of himself and his "talent" than others do and he has the personality that has potential to be unpopular in work based environments and showbiz no exception, there is two sides to the celeb juice Story and the truth will be somewhere in the middle. I don't think his "cleaner" remarks to Kim are offensive however the "you old scouser" remark irks me - would he have said "you old taffy" If Kim Woodburn was Welsh?doubt it. Kim Woodburn is abhorrent btw and I think Rufus handled the whole situation well and I agree he had no need to apologise, I am taken by the relevance of the place she comes from being an issue (I am from Liverpool - shock! horror!) The fact she was from Liverpool seemed to be a dominating feature in his mind to me. He was lucky to have a teacher who believed in him tho and that was a nice story to hear.Jury Summary - he's a bit of a dick who acts like he isn't but the mask slips now and again.
Surely that jury summary could apply to anyone? I don't think where she's from was particularly relevant. There's no need to be sensitive about it, Liverpool is a great city.
@@CortezHoratio if I came across as sensitive and maybe I had a chip on my shoulder I apologise - I just don't think he had to mention the persons birthplace, it wasn't within the context of their argument but he mentioned it like it was heavily in his consciousness. It's not as if she has a thick accent or anything?. She is a vile woman none the less and she gets no support here.
Rufus came across really badly here, he DID seem like he was telling a "poor little me" story, he DID mean the cleaner line as an insult and asking for a copy of the video was so needlessly petty.
Rufus said he didn't want to tell the celebrity juice story, then did, and yes, it did seem like a 'woe is me' story. Frankly, I thought he was being petty and childish asking for a copy of the tape and I'm sure he DID mean to insult her by saying cleaner, it doesn't matter he's retrospectively thought of a way to claim his innocence, he knew exactly what he meant when he said, and so did she, hence the argument. Don't bullshit, stand by your guns.
Rufus Hound seems like a really switched on, moral, kind of guy. I'd agree that this is probably one of the best Richard has done.
^Says the coincidence theorist.
Craft of animation Que?
I think it was a reference to his Tweets about the Manchester Arena bombing.
This is one of the best interviews you've done Rich.

This one was properly enjoyable - Rich is great at this when he's calm enough to just let things happen...Top Job!
45:00 the bit where he explains the fall-out with Kim Woodburn.
Diamond 💎
Thansk - the only reason im here.
Let's hope Rufus and Leigh make up
I loved watching Hounded when I was... 22 years old.
I don't know how I started watching it, but I am glad I did.
The first thing I saw Rufus in was this show on CBBC and I can't remember what it was about but I remember always being really excited to watch it.
The show was called Hounded
I got all eggcited when I thought Rich said a future guest would be Plinny (!?)
I already like Rufus but as the RHLSTP (rhlstp) went on, I grew to admire and respect him more - a truly Great interview. I've already pledged but may have to raise my donation in appreciation
Just pledged to the KickStarter.
Why are people not watching this?
Proper awesome interview! Funny, enlightening & riveting. Mega.
That Peter Wyngarde album is called "When Sex Rears Its Inquisitive Head", and it's awesome.
its worrying that i join in with the audience's "Rhlstp" without evening realising it,
Well done on passing the kick starter threshold. RHLSTP is my innocent pleasure, but in a guilty way.
What a lovely guy. Did he take the job? Do we know what it was?

Thanks Andrew! That's great. :)
1:21:53. It was Stewart who said that line, not Richard.
Pedantry over.
I really want to know his brothers Ghost story!
Rufus Hound 16 Oct. 2013 - The next job he had was.... In 2014, Hound played the role of Freddie in the West End production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Peter Wyngarde - When Sex Leers Its Inquisitive Head
That's the CD reissue, the record was just "Peter Wyngarde"
So what was the job he got offered? Did he do it?
Love it when RHLSTP makes the papers 😀
please try get Ricky Grover on.... ohh, and Lano or Woodley!
That's Lano AND Woodley.
Never think of your colleagues as 'family' and never think your boss cares about you.
Why?
He's one of the best, love him.
Also the song he mentions is here on TH-cam, check it out, its really as bad as he says :)
So 7 years on what was the job he was offered?
I also have an old fashioned name crossed with an animal...
Not that it helps...
Lovely stuff...
Spenface Are you Ray Peacock?
I think I've got the
most old fashioned name.
Abraxas.
1000s of years old

(I have my doubts)

some even say it's Hebrew.
That doctor who is episode is scary as.. The empty child :0
Was The War of the Roses the thing he wanted to talk about but couldn't talk about?
Rufus Hound looks like a chubby Ewan McGregor here. Really good interview though, the Celeb Juice stuff was very interesting.
Damnit to fuckery, Richard, I bought into your phantom 'RHLSTP' call & response and said it loudly on the bus.
Maybe real success lies as leader of a cult.
You could use your time-travelling finger-portal to solve William Rufus' death.
William Rufus was killed in The New Forest, there's a place there called Rufus Stone
+affalaffaa Fucking sketchy junction too.....
LOVE Leigh Francis, LOVE Rufus, LOVE Celebrity Juice.
Aware of Richard Herring.
Are the 6 people who didn't like it that cleaners fans?
What's with the Stewart Lee haircut? Is this a follow-up to Hitler moustache - are you trying to reclaim hair that covers you eyes for society as well?
Rufus hound is Peter Hitchen's alter-ego.
Is that a compliment or an insult?
@@CortezHoratio I can't remember.

"we were pregnant". I liked Rufus until literally that point. What a wanky thing to say.

Belittling cleaners. Cool. We aren't lesser than you or anybody s
Sarah Lomas At what point does he belittle them?
This episode is truly the turd amongst diamonds, made me hate rufus hound.
